Foxed: Investing time into a show that will be cancelled even though it has more viewers than another show.
NC'd: Trashing a game without a public comment and leaving it's fans without a suitable replacement.
Two new words I'll be using. -
I no you've heard anything I can do, but I'll say it. I love this game. It's the first game I ever played online. Almost dropped it, but the CoH community showed me so much support (Sometimes laughing as I made dumb mistakes.) Bottom line, I'll donate or do whatever else I can to your cause. Good luck.
-
I may have missed this, and it may be a dumb question. I'm asking it anyway just to be on the safe side. Rather than using a credit card, I prefer to use the game time cards. Will this still put me in as a VIP or do I need a CC for a continuous subscription?
-
Yep, seems the list is growing. Logged in last night fine. Tried today and every server I tried gives me the "No response from this server" msg. Any ideas yet?
-
Thanks to all for your help. End problem solved.

Huh? I thought I bought a game not an Algebra quiz. I think they should start offering a class about how to understand half this stuff. But to put my two sense in I can offer this much. The Alpha slot seems to Offer a good alternative to prurple IO's, and then some. Using the cheaper IO's to boost in weaker areas, then using Alpha for whatever is lacking seems to be working good for me. Loved my Zom MM before, but now he is just friggin sweet!
-
Just started really looking into my IO sets to make my 50's a little more "usefull." Ran across a few things that I'm not really sure of. Mainly, I have a few toons with ummm, end problems. With 6 slots in Stamina, wasn't really sure what the best thing to put in there to get the best end recovery. I've heard mixed information. Can someone just give me a quick run down of what will get me the top recovery. Thanks.
-
About a month ago I decided to finaly get into IO's. Never really did much PvP, so didn't think too much about getting them. Of course I looked at the purples, saw the price and thought forget it. I got the next best thing, and I was pretty happy. Now with the Incarnate system, I'm kinda hoping the prices will drop. I understand free market and all that, but when someone buys inf to get their IO's, it drives up the price. Kinda annoying, but whatever. As much as I'd like to have at least one toon decked out with a bunch of purple IO's, I don't see it happening any time soon. I'll be happy to get the IO's that may not be purple, but still gimmie an edge. As for the purples, ehh one day. Till then, I'll keep selling the purp rec. I get and spend the inf buffing out my toons with the not so bad IO's.

Inherent fittness pools sounds good. For some it means getting to choose some new powers previously hogged up by choosing fitness. The only issue being what about extra slots for those powers? Would be nice to have a few extra slots for patron powers too. But then again, who knows what the future may bring.
-
Well, just figured I'd update things real quick. After putting in a fresh hard drive, re-installing windows xp, and CoH, still nothing. Checked my ISP, and they ran several test with my connection and said everything is good. I've read a bunch of other posts with people having the same problem, and have come up with these the most common solutions. Hope this helps people.
1. Keep background and toollbars to a bare minimum.
2. Make sure all your drivers (Sound card, Vid card mainly) are up to date as well as direct X.
3. Try running the game under the "as admim." option.
4. Check that your system requirements meet or exceed the recomended requirements. The have been increased since i17 came out. Running below these settings may work, but trust me the game runs like poo. If you have anything below a duo core, be prepared for long load times.
5. Hope and pray the next patch fixes this issue. I got my fingers crossed, but I'm saving up for a better machine. Hopefully, that takes care of it.
Thanks to all those who take time out of their day to help us on these boards. Even if it doesn't seem like it, we do appreciate all the help. -
Still nothing. Loaded up the new drivers, ran a full scan with malewarebytes, then tried Hijackthis, and still nothing. No infections, still no answers. Included the Hijack log filejust in case someone missed something.

Gonna go ahead and try this, but still doesn't explain why things are a no go in safe mode. If it was a driver issue would the game work at all? Secondly, if it was a vid card issue, wouldn't running at minimal graphic requirements in safe mode solve the issue? Just a thought. Gonna keep trying whatever it takes. I won't give up on this. I'll update again once I get the new drivers and try a few other things. Thanks again folks.

Tried a fresh install, and still no good. All the advice about the graphics problem seem well and good. I may be off the mark, but what happens when you run with minimal graphics settings and still have realy slow loads? I've run in safe mode and still can load into certain zones. Problem seems to be mainly with Talos which usualy boots me back to login. Other zones run slow. When I do get on, missions seem to load fine, so I'm begining to think this may be something other than a graphics issue.
-
Been through all that. Couldn't find anything wrong after running both of those programs. The more posts I've read through, seems like this is happening to a lot of people with a wide range of machines. Hopefully, they get it sorted out soon. Have a CD copy of CoH, but my computer won't read it anymore. I was going to try to do a re-install, but I'm afraid if I delete it I won't be able to re-install.
-
Since Dark Mirror was released, I've been having issues with load screens. Game crashes back to Login screen after trying to log in a toon. Smaller zones load ok. Larger zones take a long while, and I can't seem to get into Talos at all. When I do manage to get in, the game runs fine until I try to zone. No problems going into missions, just coming back out into the zones. Upgraded my RAM, Video card, pretty much everything but my processor (P4). All drivers are the latest and greatest. Tech support suggested I check with my ISP, but everything seems ok there. If anyone has any info please help.

Running an older machine and had the same problems when I 17 came out. No problems before, now tons of issues. Had the "auto spins,: but the ATI Vid card thread fixed that. Only problems now are hanging when first logging in a charachter, and choppy gameplay when using travel powers. Overall, just a general slowdown in gameplay. Ulatra mode seems like kind of a waste to me. Sure the game may look better, but with this many problems, what's the need? More content would have been better recieved then flashy graphics. Hope things get fixed soon. I'm missing them game big time.
