  1. I hear ya Buckeye <x_X> I hear ya. It's good to know I'm not alone in my being alone hehe <X_X>

On a positive - I asked my brother about D&D, as I remembered that he was in a group - and it sounds like I may have a group to play with. Maybe. Possibly. I don't know yet >.< I have questions to be asked and answered yet.

    "Moral Combat"

The key though is - Liebermann is a moron on so many other things >.> the gaming angle is merely an additional reason to despise him.

Generally speaking though - the "political talking point" thing doesn't hold water with me. Yeah, so what if they could never ever make the law stick? It doesn't change that they're just making young people (in particular) look bad to older people who don't understand.

What I mean is, like all politicians - its just a play on "fear" - fear of terrorism, fear that immigrants will take over the country, fear that videogames will cause young people to turn into homocidal maniacs... fear fear fear.

Because fear is a motive force.

Realize it or not, they demonize young people like this because too few people are willing to stand up and question.

  4. Thanks all - firstly for not trashing me; I knew there was a reason I trusted this section... I mean I've trusted you all with my art for nearly a year, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Thank you all very very much. I've had depression as long as I've been alive for a million reasons that well - I'm going to a counselor for that hehe <~-~>

    But this lonely thing... ugh.

I think I will try the library - I actually would love a tabletop D&D campaign too... perhaps now is the time to find a group. I admit to being ridiculously nervous about walking into such things... but I have to try. Some great ideas and I thank you all.

Scope, that's actually a great idea... for most people. Unfortunately the area I live in contains mostly what I'd consider "faux" Christians - they talk the talk, they tell you 'we love everyone even if they have comitted sin - God will always forgive you' - then they're absolutely merciless. It's part of why I've kind of removed my religion from the church - I'm sure there are some great churches out there... just not here (part of the reason I wound up in this situation - not that anyone could know that).

I'm going to see if I can dig up a D&D campaign somewhere I think... that's probably the absolute simplest least intrusive way to get myself out there... I think.

And then I miss this old thing I did an age and a half ago - Foam fighting; where we'd bash the living crap out of each other with foam swords. Sillly, but fun!

Anyway, thank you all again, for the advice and for just being so kind to me th last year - I don't know how to explain how much I've needed the confidence boost that I've gotten here on the forums. *group hug* <~.~> the squirrel is thankful for friends even when he cannot see them physically. They're still there and that's what matters.
  5. Ok so I've been thinking alot lately.

More specifically, over the last couple days I realized - when I joke about having absolutely no social life... I'm not joking. More to the point - its not a lack of a social life - its a lack of *social contact*.

This forum, the game - and my best friend in Oklahoma are my only non-relative social contact in the world. Up until last night - I thought that was fine with me.

Going to say something now: No, I'm not going all 'emo' here or anything, though I suspect jokes will come to said effect shortly.

No what I'm asking is this - what would you all do, if you needed to find a way just to get out and meet people? Just in general? I mean literally - we're talking about a person who hasn't really talked to anyone outside of daily business encounters in probably 2 years - and very rarely in the past 5.

This isn't a cry for attention (I can get plenty of interweb attention just being myself, for better or worse) - but I'm starting to realize "Hell I miss being around people in the real world".

I'm sorry if this sounds incredibly stupid - but I really am quite serious; I'll be blunt, I had literally every friendship I have ever had collapse on me or otherwise end very poorly up until the friends I've made on the internet - and I think I've felt safe here because the little X is always close at hand. Too much safety.

To put it all very simply:

I'm lonely, it's making me depressed, and I have absolutely nowhere else to go for advice because *this is all I have*. I have too many other issues to talk to with my counselor to fit this one in because it's a relatively new one.

And just to make sure this is relevant to the forum so it won't get modded:

The dragon is growing. He's lonely too. With arrows.

Try not to laugh too much - I know it's easy to look and say "hah what a loser' - it's the truth; but I am trying to change at any rate. I'll never be normal nor do I wish to be - but a hermetic lifestyle is not for me I think.

Any help is appreciated. I'm going to attempt to get some much needed sleep now; and will be back later - thank you all again in advance and I'm sorry for the incredible oddness of this post; especially given the section - but this is the only place I trust with me feelings more than a quarter-inch, and the forums are the only place I have to go. (I asked my best friend as well - but I need many opinions so... other than her... well I've come to know and like you all quite a bit. I like to think we're all friends at least in an extended long-distance way; or at least that people here don't hate me hehe)

    "Moral Combat"

All I know is - the title doesn't sound nearly as good shouted.

    The T sound makes it.

damn nice work yall...btw you can still catch wacky races on boomerang (cartoon network's hb retro channel). i do, every weekday morning before work. just don't ask me how old i am. or if that channel was the only reason i went with a dish instead of cable.

ps. my fav track on that cd is face to face's cover of popeye...man that number kicks it (even just a little more than helmet's cover of gigantor, one of my fav bands).

Oh, and thanks a heap for putting that stupid Flying Machines theme song back into my head after all these years!

Nab him! Grab him! Stab him! Jab him! Stop that pigeon, NOW!

If you get the "Saturday Morning Cartoons" music CD, they have a remixed version of that song combined with the Johnny Quest theme. They also have a bunch of other good song remixes, such as Gigantor, H.R. Puffnstuff, Underdog, and Speed Racer.

The very CD which is in my car's CD player as I type this. One of my favorites. Worth it for the Ramones cover of 'Spider Man' alone!

I think my worst for the year was Light-Speed. That's safe to say since she's my own character... which also means that I probably had the highest hopes for it being cool.

As for why it's not good, shes WAY too stiff. I wanted to capture her just about to land from a jump. If I had gotten it right, she'd be leaned back, limbs bent to cushion the landing, torso forward with the motion, etc etc. It just isn't what I wanted.

Someday, I might go back and redo it. But probably not.

    Here's a reminder; LIGHT-SPEED poster
