Quote:I am very disappointed at the all the answers to the OPs genuine question. These desingenious replies do you no justice. You might want to take a look at the list of Issues on Paragon Wiki. Tell us where you left, and we'll be able to help fill in the gaps for you.

On power sets: What did you find interesting when you left the game?
To ther OP- everyone knows there is only ONE powerset. Invul/ SS Tanker!
I apologise on everyones behalf. They know not what they do. -
Quote:As soon as I found out I could turn off the graphics to invul I was there!Just let us turn off the graphics of some powers, just that would make me happy, because everything in Leadership annoys me and the fact that ALL stone tanks look exactly the same, hasten graphics = fail, and my decoys look like people who just teleported from watching "Sweatin to the Oldies".
Still get that glow when I do rage and hasten, and yes, there should be an off option.
Regarding animations, well I have the new SS animations and the flight ones. I would like the option to set it so that the game randomly alternates the animation .. so one time I'm hitting the ground with my fist with "footstomp" and the next time I do it, maybe it would be the original stamping the ground effect.
It would just keep the animatuions a bit fresher and lively for me. -
Quote:I agree. I have a feeling we (the viewer that likes this kind of thing) have missed out. Lot's of shows find their feet and this one isn't going to get the chance.Anyone who bothered to pay attention to the first info that was released pretty much knew for months that she was going to end up in the "shorts" version of the costume eventually. I'm starting to think if they had somehow managed to release the latest pictures of her first then there might have been less kneejerk negativity about the show and it might have gotten a real chance. *shrugs*
I think it may have ended up a good show and it's a shame that we're not likely to ever find out. -
Quote:It's what they do with the characters when they are resurrected that bothers me.Reminds me of how they screwed up the best scene in Wrath of Khan
by bringing Spock back.
Of the big deaths, I thought they handled Superman brilliantly. I loved the whole thing and thought the four "supermen" story was terrific.
But, there should only be ONE person capable of being Batman or Captain America.
However well written those stories were or weren't, to me, replacing them the way they did cheapened the concepts behind the characters.
Even Dick Grayson shouldn't have been capable of filling those particular boots.
And the same for Bucky Barnes.
And this business about Batman franchising his name out? Oyyy.. -
Thanks to you and everyone that's posted. There's no question that since I came back my once mighty tank has fallen behind. The game has changed, generally for the better in my opinion, but it has become more complicated.
It's thanks to people like you that people like me, who can only devote a limited amount of time to figuring all this out (much less implementing it) can at least catch up to the point of holding our own when in a decent team.
My Tanker shall be great once more!
Thanks all. -

Quote:Claws, this seems like a great help. So thanks. one question.. will i get decent bonuses?I'll give you a basic outline of how many slots and what I would put in them.
Resist Physical Defense: 2-3 slots at most, Steadfast Res/Def and a couple generics.
Temp Invulnerability: 4 slots of Reactive Armor.
Dull Pain: 5 slots of Doctored Wounds.
Unyielding: 4 slots Reactive Armor
Resist Energies: 2 generic resist IOs (can take this later in the build)
Invincibility: 6 slots, 4 Luck of the Gambler, and 2 Rectified Reticle.
Resist Elements: 2 generic resists (this can be pushed back or possible skipped altogether)
Tough Hide: 3 LotG
Unstoppable: I wouldn't take this at all.
SS attacks:
All single target attacks should get 4 Kinetic Combat and maybe a Nucleolus Hami O. I'd skip Punch and Hand Clap.
Hurl: 6 slots Thunderstrike or 3 Thunderstrike/3 Devastation
Taunt: 4 slots Mocking Beratement
Foot Stomp: 6 slotted 4 Eradication, 1 Scirocco's Dervish Dam/Rech, Force Feedback Chance for +Recharge
Tough: 4 Reactive Armor
Weave: 3-4 LotG
Air Superiority slotted the same as your ST attacks.
I thought you get the real bonuses after 6 slotting. -
Having recently rejoined the game that is very different (in a positive way) to the one I left. I find myself re adjusting and re learning..
For example I have only just aquired hero planner.
One thing that has struck me is the people seem to be slotting jab even as many as 6.
Can someone explain why?
I understand bruising but that does its job regardless as long as you actually land the blow. But jab in itself is a minor power with tiny damage so wouldn't one damage and one acc do the job?
Or even, given how minor the damage jab dishes out is, one accuracy?
It seems to me there are better uses for the other slots. I know I must be wrong because people that know what they are doing are heavily slotting jab.
What am i missing? -
Ack.. the Bionic Woman was unlucky... it didnt get into its stride and then the writers strike killed it... hated the first episode but I thought it improved and had hopes for it..

Boy these guys really have forgotten how to write Superman havent they? They just don't know what to do with him anymore.
First they take away his powers for a year. Then they have him on new krypton for a year. Now this nonsense waklk across America and now this.
Get with the programme DC. The guys name is Superman. Remember?
Get him back to the forefront again, doing the things no other hero can do.
Send him across the universe fighting outlandish threats noone else can manage.
And stop with this superwimp rubbish.
Where is John Byrne when you need him? (Although Byrne weakened him a tad too much...) -

Quote:Oh lordy.. this is before I focus on the incarnates too...I'm down with everything but this part:
That 5th and 6th slot of MB give some pretty nice bonuses: 3.13% fire/cold defense and 7.5% global recharge (that stacks with the LOTGs, even). That might be worth scrounging the slots for.on the bright side.. least I have a lot to do in the oncoming months to regain my former status...
-
One thing is for sure... there is a lot of knowledable people on these boards and ide be pretty silly not to take advantage of that... (2 years away from this game really does make you feel like a newb when you come back!)
Ok. I am going to repec so that I have every invulnerable power (including tough hide )+ tough and weave. I chose flight for my travel power for concept purposes.
I currently only have IOs and will begin creating sets shortly.
Can you please advise me how many slots you think each invul (and tough and weave) power should have if I want to create set enhancements?
My secondary is super strength and I will want to slot that out too.
Any advice?
I know this is really meant for another thread but I'm liking the quality of the posts here..
Thanks in advance. -
Partially convinced... h/c is going.. th is coming in but hurl is staying at least for now. Simple reason is I want a ranged attack and on balance, think it covers more ground than LBE.
-
Quote:It just gets better and better...There's alternate attack animations for Jab, Punch and Haymaker that fit their names a little better.
KO Blow's new animation is a classic Kirk-Fu two-fisted uppercut, which also resembles the the coup de grĂ¢ce Optimus Prime delivers to Megatron in the 80's transformers movie.
Foot Stop has a ground punch alternate. Hurl and Hand Clap don't have any animation options.
Incidentally, Martial Arts got a variety of Punches as alternates for most of the kicks.
.Thanks

Quote:we're talking about one power though, not a set.Personally I don't think Invulnerability needs looking at, at all. I play all kinds of tankers and to say that Invulnerability needs a change to it and soon would be, to me, just wrong. It needs to get inline behind other sets.
We're not saying the set is gimped, just that the way the game has evolved, this power, particularily when you enter the big leagues, is unattractive.
Plenty of powers are unattractive but unstoppable is the (or as a tier 9 ) should be the jewel in the crown.
Conceptually, the whole thing originally was that using unstoppable exterted you so much that at the end of it you are exhausted. I'll buy that... Its just that a) without hero stats (which can affect framerate) it is quite stressfull trying to time it and b) we would like the chance of surviving the crash.
Before things got so frantic, and in the earlier levels that was doable, if not comfortable. Now, in an ITF or Lambada....
We just want the power to be a little more user friendly is all. -
Quote:Yes.. i did that. Thanks though. Wow. i've been gone 2 years and there seems like a lot of changes.. and they seem pretty good ones...Yes.
You will flat out do 20% more damage to a single target you're attacking, regardless if it's an AV or GM, provided you lead with your tier 1 and use it at least once every 10 seconds to refresh the effect.
Your team will also do more damage to said target. Numerically, a single Tanker now adds more damage to a team than a single Brute does by virtue of being a force multiplier.
You should also respec because the Fitness Pool is now an Inherent power. You get Hurdle, Swift, Health and Stamina automatically at level 2. You may slot these powers as normal.
.
While I'm on.. did I read something about an animation change for the knockout blow? Or did I dream it? -
Quote:When you say tier 1 you are referring to level one, right?Yep. Bruising was added to all Tanker Tier 1 attacks in i18. Link to Wiki page with description.
I use boxing right now not jab. I should switch and actually use the power? -

Quote:Wow. I cancelled just in time.I noticed this yesterday when I tried to cancel my sub to DCUO! I have no access atm. So how do I cancel???
This is Gods way of punishing Sony for making such a crap game out of a brand I've followed since I was a kid... blasphemers shall be smitten... -
Quote:When you think of how difficult it must be to put out a spy spoof slap stick comedy that somehow completely embraces you and makes you laugh and care the way this show does.. it has to be one of the most skillfully put together shows ever made. This show continues to deliver. The opening sequence with the 'special targets' made my jaw drop....
Writing, acting.. everything.. I just cannot praise it enough. Loved it from the first episode of a story that has very little milage in it. Four years later it's still going strong.. kudos to Chuck and the team behind it. -
-
It's going.. it's going...
But you know it does have it's uses. I was doing the ITF and we were completely mobbed. I was tanking ok.. no one was dying but it was insane.. someone mustve pulled another mob into the mix (or two) So i found a couple of handclaps DID give the group a bit of breathing space...
I will miss it cause I don't want to necessarily trade efficiency for concept (plus it's one iof the few SS powers that LOOKS good.. but I have to admit this is a clear instance where the trade off is too extreme for me to ignore.
Tough hide here I come. -
Quote:It's not just about efficiency though, Dawn. A concept player is every bit as valid as a built as an efficiency one. When all is said and done It's a game. The pros to LBE that people put forward makes me wonder. What non concept build on any Tanker has an extremely essential Laser Beam Eyes?.
I am NOT a meat shield Tanker. I know what my job is for the team but I like to get my licks in too....
