Heh, you're welcome. Could you point me to the list in question? 99% of what I know, I learned from the real market stars (Fulmens, Nethergoat, and Fury Flechette stand out in my mind as three that have been extremely useful in my journey from poor to billionaire) so I want to be sure it's properly credited.
  2. I'm involved in a smallish SG that is pushing a storyline at almost insane rates. We've been on and RP'ing every night, hours each night, since I joined 13 days ago. Last night we were supposed to have a discussion about reducing the speed of story progression, but an IC event got in the way. Look me up in-game as @heffroncm if you might be interested.
  3. Yeah, cost is no object with this build. I'm thinking I should be able to nab perma-hasten with soft cap defense with SR.
  4. For a Primary? I played Dark Melee as a Scrapper back in the day. It was fun, not interested in redoing it though. As to a secondary, Super Reflexes has been it since the word 'go' for this guy.
  5. Secondary is Super Reflexes.

Stone is like the only set that wouldn't work for this guy.
  6. Yeah, I'm more interested in sustained DPS than burst. I want this guy to be able to eat through an AV in the minimum time possible, not be able to 3-shot EBs and then sit on his thumbs.

    I went with Firey Melee.
  7. I haven't touched purples yet. I've never been able to find a margin I liked. I'm able to make as much RoI with yellows and oranges with less tied up in each item.

I stick to min-max levels. That is, max for most IOs, minimum for procs and uniques, and 35 for frankenslotters.

I was messing around with salvage to learn the flipping game without investing a lot of money. I then made about 100M working with an in-demand enhancement, and didn't really enjoy it the way I do hunting down recipes and crafting those for sale.
  8. Something in this thread tells me I should get into purples. I've gotten comfortable and complacent, crafting the same ol' level 50 sets.
  9. D'oh, somehow it completely slipped my mind that you did this. I've basically bought my current SGs base, having bought them 600k prestige. Had I been thinking clearly I would have come looking for you so they could have over a million and really drown in options. Any chance you'll be doing another of these?
  10. Somehow, in all my trawling of the market forum, I've never come across that channel before. Thanks Chaos Creator.

Fair enough. I didn't recognize the global, but I can't provide any adequate 'proof' that it was genuine without exposing the global to potential harassment. Here's hoping folks got a chuckle out of it anyway.
  12. Extremely awesome, Fiery works for the backstory even better than Energy anyway. Thanks for your input Bill.

Anyone have a link to a recent overview of Fiery Melee for Brutes? I'm reading the guides available in the sticky, and checking the same in the Scrapper forum, but it seems the sticky hasn't been updated in some time.
  13. I had thought Fiery Melee was an AoE set? Not that I have anything against AoE, I just want this guy to pack massive single-target hurt.
  14. Hey folks,

For a concept I want to do, I'm trying to figure the Brute power set with the best single-target damage to pair with Super Reflexes. I've been advised that Energy Melee is a good way to go. Thoughts and comments?

    Regards,

    Heff.
  15. Maybe, maybe not. Unless a GM wants to come in and reveal the global of the sender, you'll just have to ask yourself if I'm that kind of arrogant.
  16. I choose to claim my "Ebil Marketeer" badge with the following in-game e-mail (name hidden to protect from forum backlash):
  17. Actually, I think what most non-Market Forum people mean when they refer to an "ebil marketeer" has nothing to do with crafting.
  18. Yeah, I've noticed less 'give' in the market. However, every time I go looking, I find another three or five enhancements that I can craft for 5M and sell for 20M. I'm starting to think that setting my minimum at "10M per slot" is too low.

So, tried to teach myself Flipping again. I got it figured out, but I just don't like doing it. Strikes me as kinda mean. Nothing against flippers, because I'm basically doing the same thing by buying recipes and selling the enhancements, it is just not for me.

That's actually a known marketing trick in the real economy, and outlawed for good reason in most places. Creating artificial demand by buying out your competitors and either stockpiling or destroying product is the heart of setting up a monopoly.
  20. Just the other day I typo'd away 160 million on some rare salvage. Someone here offered the advice, "Type fast, click slow"

I would say this is a 6 slot worthy power much of the time, but all of the End Mod sets include enhancements that enhance things unused in Recovery Aura, so if one is trying to max utility, skipping those enhancements would be wise, but if looking for the sets bonuses, the slots are essentially wasted. It's not as if the enhancements have to specifically enhance the power, new procs or my suggested "invention powers" would fit nicely, thereby allowing one to get the set bonus while still not feeling as if a precious slot is wasted. Personally I feel slots are at such a premium these days; even wasting one for something stupid bothers me. Perhaps I speak for myself in that line of thinking.
"Wasting" a slot on something stupid is the whole point of the trade-off. You have to decide if the later set bonuses are worth having the worthless enhancements.

Conceptually, that is the purpose of enhancements anyway if you read normal DO and SO enhancement descriptions. They represent found items, new training, etc. I think my idea could work to represent new uses you found for your powers, not necessarily increasing their "power" but as an alternate way of using it represented by the fact, you don't gain any enhancement from the slot, but have a smaller "utility" style power that you are not truly "skilled" with...hopefully that makes sense.
Oh, I think they work fine. I just think the temp powers can cover exactly that without need for making them a slot-eating thing. Then again, maybe it would let the devs make them more useful, because it would be eating up a resource beyond Inf.

That's bleeding brilliant, and I feel like an idiot for not thinking of it. Going to add that to my list of tips unless you object.
  23. Of your suggestions, I think #4 is the most feasible, with #2 and #4 the only ones at all likely.

For #1, part of the point of the set bonuses is you have to trade off better power stats for them. That's why frankenslotting exists, to get the absolute most out of a power as possible.

For #3, the possibility exists in the temp powers and your suggestion #2. It might be crawling into territory that's reserved, conceptually, for the Devices and Traps power-pools, though.

I would LOVE to see enhancements with negative modifiers in Invention. I'm not sure it's possible in the system as it is, but it's probably possible to make it possible.

    Bunnehs unite!

    I want it.

The $10,000 Sculpture (in progress) is my favorite idea of his. I'd be tempted to set this up on a Manhattan sidewalk and see what it can collect in a week.
