    Arc Reviews

Throwing my first and only arc into the mix for reviews by whomever is doing reviews in this thread.

Arc Name: The Existence of a Gnome
    Arc ID: 154205
    Length: Very Large
    Mission Count: 5
    Morality: Heroic
Description: A group of sorceresses have taken up residence on a local island and begun practicing new spells and incantations. Gordon Bower has contacted you in the hopes of retaining your assistance in researching these sorceresses and their spells.
  2. My count is 2807/3000 which I typed in manually some time ago. Nothing recent there. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't done a bunch of typos. All this flickering is giving me a headache. /bug it is.
  3. Just now I've trying to edit one of my MArch's and have found a bug with the souvenir window. The Souvenir Clue, when clicked on, lowers the window to show the editor as normal. However, the editor window is continuously "blinking" and cannot be used. You can't click in it, can't type, etc. I can close the Souvenir Clue as normal, but I can't edit it at all.

I've done the following to try and remedy:
    - Closed/Opened window again.
    - Tried a different zone.
    - Logged out/back in.
    - Restarted game application.
    - Restarted computer.
    - Hit keyboard.
    - Flicked monitor.
    - Cried.

All to no avail. Anyone else seeing this? To note, this was never happening before the most recent set of patches.
  4. Just as the title says, the Advanced Graphics option to enable Physx support always loads as disabled and I have to manually enable it. When I log out and back into another character, same process. Is this a bug? Is there a little known command line switch I need to be using to enable it from game start-up? Just to make sure it's clear, the option is not grayed out or anything. It is there and selectable, it just always loads as disabled.
  5. I never posted in one of these in the past, but figured I'd throw some memories into this one.

    Remember when...
... Stone Armors covered you completely in stone, making the costume and body proportions of your character completely meaningless when your powers were active.

... Unyielding was "Unyielding Stance" and it rooted you in place while active.

... Mission completes gave no XP, making street sweeping thee thing to do.

... Global chat handles did not exist. People knew you by your myriad of character names and your server friend list actually had some meaning.

... There were only indoor missions. Outdoor missions didn't come along until Issue 1.

... You couldn't change team leaders. If you made a team, it was yours until you left. If you wanted to change the leader, you had to disband the team and reform.
  6. Forgot to reply to this thread. Thank you all for the help.

One further question: when you say you can pull out members of existing villain groups into a custom group, how does one do that? If there's a guide you have that I could read, I'd much appreciate it.

    Thanks!
  7. Well, I'm not really looking for the enemy per se, just the animation they are doing. You know, a group of 3 CoT, 2 are kneeling and praying or something, and the third is doing the "summoning the green smoke" thing. Any thoughts on that?
  8. Is there anyway to get a specific instance of an enemy group to show up on a map? I.e., if I select the Circle of Thorns, is there any way to force the critter groups to be those that are the "green smoke cloud summoning" type group instead of simple groups of Defenders/etc. standing around?

    I hope that made sense.
  9. Great and informative guide. Kudos to you for pulling it all together. Adding in the Set IO bonus information may very well be helpful, but I would also link to the paragonwiki for a bulk of the information. They have done a tremendous job of listing out Set bonuses for everything known in the game.

One piece of info I, personally, would like to see included is how Set IO enhancement percentages scale dependent on the level of the enhancement/recipe. For example, at level 50 a dual Acc/Dam IO will be 26.5% and 26.5%. That enhancement/recipe is probably in the 30-53 band. What are the aspect modifies for a recipe at level 49? I'm sure there's a mathematical formula for it, but I've never seen it. You do list out the exemp level modifiers but I don't think the recipe values are the same table.

    Again, great guide!
  10. Excellent. Thanks for the information!
  11. <QR>

Very nice guide. One piece of information that I think is key that is missing is the level range around your character for which you can get salvage. Now, I've seen mixed reports on this, so I'm not even 100% sure on what it is. For defeating foes for Salvage, can you get it from any foe -4 on up to you? Or is it only foes that, at least, con Green to you (which means minions are -2, lieuts -3 and bosses -4)? I've seen both explanations, and don't know which one is correct.
  12. <QR>

Has anyone figured out the names of the Vault window or the Consignment House window for this?
  13. Again, excellent guide. I've been using it and referencing it heavily since Issue 9 hit. One question though:
    [ QUOTE ]
This is great. Does anyone have the following information?

    - Exactly what levels each enemy group appears in?
    - Which zones does each mob group appear in?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Does this information exist anywhere? I'm trying to "map out" where to hunt for certain things whilst playing my wide array of alts.
  14. Excellent, excellent information. Did I mention it was excellent? Thank you much for putting all of this together.

Minor editing note: in the Magic only list you note "Carnival of Souls". I think you mean Carnival of Shadows.
  15. <QR>

Excellent! I do realize this is a "best case" scenario though. I would imagine most players don't slot Transfusion or TG with 3 Recharge Reducers to get this particular maximum benefit out of it though, unless you have a character played solely for AV/Hero and GM hunting.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Interestingly, powers like Transfusion and Twilight Grasp (with a base regen debuff of just 50% rather than 500%), go from an effective DPS of just 2.8 to 7.1 - still not very much at all (though theirs is stackable - up to two or three times).

    [/ QUOTE ]
There's a limit to the stacking of Transfusion and TG's -regen debuff? I say this because, for instance, a Kinetics user could possibly hit a 4 or 5 stack level with Transfusion in the duration of the first -regen buff applied (assuming they hit all 4-5 Transfusion casts), therefore getting upwards of ~28-35% -regen debuff. Am I under a false presumption with these powers?
  17. <QR>

Ahah! This was exactly what I was looking for last night. Thank you so much InfamousBrad for putting this together. VERY much appreciated.
  18. Another note: you don't need to defeat the 2 Quarry's before you hit the Rock Wall, and here's how/why...

Was on an Eden Trial a few weeks ago with a great team. However, we just didn't have the damage output/-Regen needed to take the Quarry's down. Try as we did, we just didn't have the firepower. We were about to give up and quit right when our leader had an amazing idea. You see, there are 2 holes in the ground near where the Quarry's usually spawn. For heroes, these are the holes that teleport you around the map. For an enemy, for instance let's say a Quarry , if they were to fall into the hole, they do not get teleported away and become permanently stuck. Lead the Quarry into the hole. He'll drop down to the bottom, and never, ever, come back up for air. That's it, problem solved.

    Happy trial'ing!

Mayhem Missions aren't all nice and easy fun and games (though they are Fun!Woot!). If you don't know what you're doing, you can get Team Wiped quickly.

    [/ QUOTE ]
When Mayhem's first came out, this was me as well. I couldn't complete one to save my life, literally. I spent the entire mission in the jail, only to break out and get put right back in. I think I failed about a dozen before I had a successful one, all thanks to the Roach man up top. After that, I haven't ever failed one, and consistently complete the bank job with at least as much time as I started with.

In my experience, there is one great AT to bring with on these: a Mastermind. Come on in, spawn their pets, and let them go freaking beserk destroying everything. You'll have those Mayhem Mission badges in no time.
  20. Very nice guide. I've been in a few Hami raids in the past, but must have gotten there late, as I've never witnessed the Drop Team before. That's nifty. Kudos!
  21. [ QUOTE ]
    Steel Worker exploration badge (Invader)
Found in the Skyway City mayhem mission map (-648, -41, -4031).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just noticed this. Think you meant Steel Canyon, and what would be the correct coordinates for it?
  22. [ QUOTE ]
this is not the way to grind for coldhearted. i tried it and saw hordes of cot and maybe 5 hordelings. just go to sharkhead and circle around the villa requin in the water. youll see plenty more hellfrost there than hordelings in cap.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Aye. Go to Sharkhead and check around the outter edge of Potters Field as well. Constantly run into Hellfrosts on the beaches. Once around may net you 5-10 Hellfrosts.
  23. Woops, forgot one:

    [ QUOTE ]
    - Break Out – There will be a named villain in the PPD jail that you have to break out.[...]

    [/ QUOTE ]

The one I keep getting, and I can't remember her name, seems to be some sort of Rad/Rad Corruptor. I must say, she's amazing. She runs around destroying every little thing she sees, but she puts out some nice, nice damage against actual enemies. Extremely helpful.
  24. Excellent, excellent, excellent guide. Kudos on the work. Had a few remarks:

    [ QUOTE ]
    - Raiding – Steal something from a “Staple Villain Group”. Find the glowie and click it. So far always in a warehouse map. Though their entrance door changes they are always the same foe and the map is small. I get Nemesis in Bricks, I forgot what I got in Founders. I got Hellions in AP and Council in Steel, and I seem to remember Lost in Skyway. I haven’t gotten one of these in KR. These missions always award a temp power (to the glowie clicker). Some that I’ve seen/earned:

    [/ QUOTE ]
Note sure what you meant by "Staple Villain Group" here. Just last night I went through a raiding mission which had PPD in it, and nothing else. Well, Longbow chasing me, but nothing on the lines of Council, etc.

    [ QUOTE ]
I have mentioned the Police Station. Like a Council Map or a Circle temple, if you fall during the mission you end up in jail and have to break out of the cell. Also there are PPD there to take out. You get XP for blowing up the reinforced cell doors, so there is bonus smashing fun there.

    [/ QUOTE ]
The doors used to give XP. As of yesterday, they no longer do. I can't find it in a patch note or anything, but they don't seem to be handing out XP any longer. I fought many reinforced doors in the PPD jail last night, and none of them handed out XP, not even the one I had to knock down to rescue the jailed villain.

    From DarknessEternal:
    [ QUOTE ]
Longbow only comes after you if a PPD sees you and then you run away from them enough so that they stop chasing. If you fighter every PPD where you find them, no Longbow will show up except with the Hero.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not true. It could be triggered by location, or by number of times fighting the PPD spawns, but by fighting PPD Longbow always, always spawn and chase after me.
