I have 3 PermaDoms.
1) Plant/Fire....Easily handles 0x8 and probably my fave Dom so far. Plant is a beast.
2) Mind/Psi.... Easily handles 0x8. Don't judge it yet. Wait until you get the powers IOd and PermaDom. I wouldn't judge any toon before IOs are placed. They wake the powers up tremendously. Not only will your Dom be perma, but most of you powers will be, too.
3) Fire/Thorny... I just hit 50 with this one over the weekend and IOd it. It is softcapd S/N/L defense and 38% melee defense and 160% rech. It can easily handle 0x8. I didn't take Ripper though. Mainly due to the sets i needed to reach softcap defense and i love more Ranged and AoE attacks on the Doms. Keeps you safer, imo. And you can use the Rag chance for KD in Thorntrops.
Like Infini said, the Epic pools are great, too. I went Ice for Frozen Armors 14% defense. So, i took Sleet to Debuff them and Ice Storm for even more AoE carnage.
Total Dom, Sleet, Ice Storm, Fling Thorns, Thorn Burst, Thorn Barrage/Ripper on lt.s or bosses.
Next mob, start with Mass Confusion and follow the same chain. With enough recharge, Total Dom will be up at least every other mob. My Cinders are and they have the same 240sec downtime.

As damage buffs are added to the mix, Brutes need to receive comparably more of them in order to keep pace (at a rate of 3:2), but the Brute self-damage buff is lower than the Scrapper self damage buff, so the opposite happens and the Brute falls behind. As far as the damage, i ran a farm last night and with Build Up alone the scrapper was producing on ave. about 200hp worth more damage. Not saying that the Brutes SC damage is crappy in terms of damage. Just crappy that it's so low compared to the scrapper. I wonder now how it even stacks up to a SD tank. I don't have one of those. May need one now just to see.
The Brute was doing close to 400hp and the scrapper was doing right at 600hp worth of damage. Even with the nerf to SC, it alone can wipe out a mob of 0x8 at even cons. Minions and lt's.
Before the nerf, the scrapper SC was producing over 800hp worth of damage. I had posted pics somewhere on these forums before. Loved those days. lol. -
SD on a brute can't touch SD on a scrapper in terms of damage. Hands down. Ask anyone that has both and not what they determine from Mids. I have a SD scrapper and a SD Brute. I'm about to delete the Brute due to the big difference. I can post hard numbers if anyone needs them.

I roll 34-39 silver, I make about 750mill every 10runs(on a good day) I make as low as 200mill. Fire farm, clearing the whole hallway in 5minutes on a claw/fire brute = 22k prestige. I did not record the inf per run, I dont worry about due to drops and mainly making INF for Prestige later on. Saved up about 20billion in a week. That's without pvp farming

I can't agree with bronze per roll makes more money. I rolled all my rolls silver today and got several Oblits, achilles chance for debuff (like 50mil or so), Eradications and some others i can't think of atm. I rolled a few bronze yesterday and only got some air bursts, nightmare, serendipity and other stuff i deleted on the spot.
There's really no rhyme or reason to it. See what tops off at what level and roll where some of the highest paying recipes are. 15-19 silver got me 2 achilles procs today as it tops at 20.
Like purples, random is random. Rolling silver or bronze or gold don't mean you gonna hit jackpot on every roll, or even half of them. Noone can really say, just roll here. I've gotten LotG 7.5's on gold lev 45-50 just as often as a lev 35-39 gold roll. *shrug* I wish you could say, "just roll .....".
What i would like to see is the actual level of the recipe drop in the level range that you choose. I think that'd be an awesome way to help the markets middle ranges where there are 0 available. I might actually play toons under 50, then. -
I do 10-14 bronze. You can get the Steadfast Uniques, Regen Tissue + Regen and -Kbs.
25-29 Silver. I've gotten some good Kin Coms.
35-39 Silver. I've gotten alot of Oblits
40-44 Silver. I've gotten alot of ToD.
35-39 Gold. I've gotten alot of Oblit quads and LotG 7.5's and Miracle + Recovs
Depending on how good you are at it, there's nothing wrong with trying a Gold on occasion. You can spend the 3000 tickets on crappy rolls as easily as 1 crappy roll. On a certain ambush farm, my SS/Fire brute or Fire/Fire tank can easily get 1500 tickets in less than 3 minutes. Yes, i know exactly how long because it's a timed mission. Get 800-900 tickets and pop the glowie to cap. Rinse and repeat. -
Cool. After messing with mids i got it 52% im a happy camper now.

I'm working in mids on a Fire/Thorns Dom.
Currently i have it at 38.8% snl and 43.4 melee defense and 46% resists on snl. And 26.3 on the nrg's and 20% on the other stuff like Psi, Fire/Cold and 25% ranged. The recharge is at 151.3%. Will that be tough enuff to survive farming mobs of 8? -

Eryq2, I do the same. I roll 35-39silver I made 1.5billion INF in 5hours for the week. If I did not have football camp, I would've tripled my money from the AE tickets. ATM I have 29billion INF from AE tickets, thats all going into prestige into 4bases on the VIP Server.
Now, if I had the IO I'd give it to you. Since you said you could get about 1.5bill from the 3purple IOs - I'll pipe in 500mill to help you get the IO. 500mill I can make an hour.

It's all good. I was just going to see if there was someone like myself that wasn't worried about getting every penny possible out of it. I don't need it enough, or anything else for that matter, to spend a billion or more for. If someone needs something that i have, i'd gladly help them out. I thought the forums were to help other players, not just worry about all you can get in the process.
The trips do go up to 800mil. I sold an Apoc for that a week ago. 3 purples can easily go to 1.5-2 bil. If 1.5 vs. 2 is giving away too much to hurt your pockets, don't worry. Get all you can and be happy. If someone else has one and is willing to HELP another player out, please feel free to send a PM. If you'd like some PL levels to equal the 100mil or so that you'd be losing so bad, i can help you with an alt, also. Tickets = Inf, too. And i can cap your 1500 tickets in 3 minutes.

I'd like to have one of these recipes to help with a toons softcap. I already have the Steadfast unique and i need a little more help reaching the softcap on a /Dark scrapper.
I won't pay 2 or 3 billion inf for one. What i will do is offer up to 3 purples that are needed for a trade(your choice as i have a ton). 3/1 ratio is fair i think regardless of what recipe it is.
So, if you have a recipe that you don't need and want a couple extra purples in your build let me know. I know i can sell them and blah blah, but if someone needs something and i need something then lets make a deal. -

With a FF/elec,i wouldn't stand it either. Nothing wrong with that character,actualy i like force fields,but you need a character capable of killing lots of enemies fast and with ease or else it's impossible. It's already mighy boring as it is.
All my mains are built toward being strong against hard single targets,and i don't farm with them either. Powerful AoEs are mandatory for this -

Now just a question,checking paragonwiki i see maria jenkins has battle maiden missions in both story arcs, hero's epic and battle praetorian theat. The first has battle maiden almost halfway through,the second ends with battle maiden. Is there any difference between the two? They both seems to be "go to warrior world and beat everyone" maps

They are random, but i farm about an hour or 2 everyday and up to 10 on any given weekend and can tell you that some maps very well drop more purples than others. Council especially sucks in comparison to Demons, Freaks and BM. I've ran more than 10 runs on Council with 0 drops. I've yet to run more than 10 on Freaks or BM and not get a drop or few. 2 weeks ago i got 13 drops in 16 runs on the Freak map.

It was my first dom. I went Plant/Fire. With the immobs and holds and fire's strong ranged attacks, i stay very safe. im about to make another Dom. A Fire/Thorns this time now i see that Doms get Powersink.

Like i said a while back,a small update on my progress. Following what eryq2 said,i did harvey maylor's arc and got the demons map. I figured they would have been easier to deal with since i am /fire,plus i liked them more than freaks and the rest.
In the last 2 days i have done the mission around 20 times,for a total of 3 hours of time.
Much to my surprise i got 7 purples ,and out of those seven 2 were ragnaroks and 3 hecatombs. A much better result than what i was used to.
I'll try to get BM map later to see what happens. Yeah i know too that drops are random,or rather they should be,but some factions and maps seem to drop better than others -

If you realy want some hair raising fun, try out an archery/fire blaster. You get some great PBAOE attacks from your secondary that put you right in the middle of the fight with little to no protection. Mine is my favorite toon to play when I need a change of pace. The aoe capability is incredible, especially in the higher levels. Once you get rain of arrows, set your diff to x8 and don't look back.

You guy are off just a tad. 17 is kind of low.( well, i guess depending on which map) I can PL to 26 in 1 run at +4x8 in a huge map. (about 40 min or so) Not an ambush. In an ambush i can cap 1500 tickets in less than 3 min at 0x8. I pl whoever asks in the server chat and i don't charge anything. I do, though, take offers if they are made.
Someone said AE isn't worth their while because it don't drop purples. Well, it does drop Regen Tissue + Regens, Perf Shifter +End, Kinetic Combats, Oblits, Steadfast Uniques, -KB recipes, and plenty of other recipes that you may never get farming. At 1500 tickets every 3 mins = 9999 is about 20 min. That's more recipes than i get farming in PI in 20 min and baring getting a purple, it'll be worth a ton more influence. -

I 2nd 3rd and 4th to the Dom. I play mostly melee toons, too. But i made a Plant/Fire Dom. Plant is so pretty in itself, not to mention having confuse, holds, immobs to play with. And /Fire allows some AoE, Ranged and Melee to go with it. I may make another Dom. A Fire/Thorns or something.
As far as Blaster, i only have 1 that i like. It's an Archery/Fire. RoA, Burn, FSC and it's a wrap.
