This game is hard!

Sorry, for a second there, I thought you meant a villain raid.

I had this happen because evidently I couldn't remember my password. Contact Customer Service at the link listed above and they should be able to help you.

It also said "permanent" to me, but it's more of "permanent until we can verify you are who you say you are".

Yeah and with a ton of vets, it doesn't matter because they'll carry the raid even when things go bad.

It gets really noticeable when someone goes to another server and doesn't have a clue what they're doing - things start to go bad and they literally don't know what is going wrong, so they can't tell people what to do to fix it, assuming they even know.

Instead they'll blame things like bugged green mitos or a tank that dc's to cover up the fact that they are clueless rather than have people know they're useless.

Works for me.

That's a truth I've noticed from ever since I start running raids (and for the most part, unless you're one of those critical few Justice players, likely the only time you would notice is when leading - because then your focus is on the raid as a whole, as opposed to whatever tasks at hand you have).

That's something that has bothered me of late. A lot of people just want to say they lead hami raids, without putting in any effort at actually learning how and learning the things they need to know, as leaders.

This is despite the fact that all of the vet hami leaders are very willing to help teach and impart that knowledge, but alas, people just want to say they lead raids without actually having to do any work.

And that's ok - hami raids depend a lot on vets - far more than any one person, especially the hami leader. And right now, we have hami vets going to raids on Justice, so it would likely only matter if large portions of them stopped going to raids. In the meantime, the vets (and I mean hami vets, not merely game vets, or the players that Pum referenced) will do 90% of the work, the scrapper leader will take credit for the scrappers being fast that night, at least one person will ask about leading a raid when they really mean that just want to be a bind-monkey while everyone else does the work because they don't want to actually learn or lead - they just want the glory.

Again that's fine - it's how things have been done on Justice, at least since I started raiding. The catch comes in when that leader goes to another server and gets put in charge of leading hamis because he comes from Justice. And then doesn't have a clue about hamis and is likely too ignorant to know how sorely ignorant they are. That makes us look bad, and I do wear my server on my sleeve.

I can tell you that on red side, I had 3 people come to me wanting to lead red raids. One has been a macro-monkey blue-side (hami leader figurehead) but honestly doesn't have a clue what they're doing, the second is a good player and would probably be up to speed on what he needs to know in less than 30 minutes - but....he has no hami credibility - I told him to start leading blue raids so he's a known commoditiy and people will follow him on a red one...silence.

At least the 3rd is someone who knows what they're doing and what everyone else is supposed to be doing *and* has the hami cred....sad thing is they're a vet who paid their dues.

Where are the new leaders willing to do the same?

2) Paranoid lunatic conspiracy ravings sure are simpler than actually thinking. For example, a little bit of imagination would suggest that they wanted to allow people to clear spots on their accounts to make Praetorians and give a chance to people returning to check out GR who maybe weren't here for the Winter server transfers (which as we all saw, led to every server except Freedom and Virtue being shut down because no one was left on the others).

I agree with the sentiment, but would also point out the reverse is also true.

Here's the thing. The mods have an obligation to keep the channel meme - when they say something is violating the family aspect of that, then they are acting on behalf of that meme.

In other words, one person doesn't get to decide what is or is not outside of that meme.

So you want the JfA or Chrome channels to be your own, but without putting in the time and work that it took those people?

Two things - first, I very much agree that in this game, global channels are where the real community occurs. For other games, it's in their guilds or whatnot, but in this game it's globals.

Secondly, if you had a point in your Tic-Toc story, it wasn't clear.

No idea what it is you are saying or more importantly, intended to say here. Again, if you have a problem with how something occurs in JU, take it up with Chrome. If it's in JfA, take it up with a mod.

I understand your position, if people sent you tells. On the other hand, I've had 520 people send me PMs refuting your position, just in the time it took me to write this response.

See the problem? Doubly so if you're arguing policy.

As it is, everyone has the same recourse with mod actions or policies - take it up with Chrome if it's in JU, or with a JfA mod if it's in JfA.

Again, providing the rules are followed (and let's be honest, neither channel has a lot of rules), where's the problem?

I can name 3 people right now who annoy me a lot in global channels, and they know it. They also know that they're free to discuss whatever inane topic they want to, so long as they don't violate the rules.

I can only answer why I'm not.

See, you don't voluntarily join a channel (thereby agreeing to follow the rules of that channel) and then tell everyone that they're wrong for having the channel meme the way it is.

There's a much better recourse:

Look, not every channel is for everyone, nor is everyone for every channel. If you join a public channel and then want to complain about the rules of it, I get that. I really do. But let me ask you this - did you ever stop and think that maybe it's because of those rules that they became so trendy?

Not saying it's the case, nor am I saying that you have no right to feel outraged if you were geniunely the victim of poor moderation. As I said, I wasn't there so I can't comment on it.

However, there are venues to take to air your dispute. Even here, there are more constructive ways of doing so without people totally dismissing you.

I will say this though. If you'd like JU to be the type of place where you can get into adult chat just because it's late at night for you, then based on my understanding of the channel purpose, you may wish to leave it as I don't think it'll be the sort of place you'll be comfortable in.

I can be brusque and abrasive, I know. I would hope you understand that I'm being honest with you - when you start to rant, your position loses focus and I have no idea what you're saying. Try to avoid rhetoric and simply explain things, it causes less room for misunderstanding.
