If you're started to edge on 2r, why not just zerg it?

To the OP: I both agree and disagree with you.
I get what the devs where trying to accomplish with GR and I think they did.
That said, they need to give us some true endgame - not "systems" (sideswitching, grinding for aMerits, Incarnate), but actual content. CoP is a first step, but we need more....oh and pvp being fixed, 'cause that's the ultimate endgame. -
Quote:I had this happen because evidently I couldn't remember my password. Contact Customer Service at the link listed above and they should be able to help you. They can get accidentally locked i know of 2 such cases, possibly from too many log in attempts i do not know why. There could have been a hacker attempt or the account could have gotten hacked.
Regardless of why only CS can help him though, and it does take time. But as I said just because it was locked doesn't mean something was done wrong and it was perma banned.
It also said "permanent" to me, but it's more of "permanent until we can verify you are who you say you are". -
In the meantime, there's an icon pack out that changes the look of all DOs and SOs to match their TO equivalent - it's a great help when looking at the list of Enhs at the store.

Quote:Yeah and with a ton of vets, it doesn't matter because they'll carry the raid even when things go bad.Um...what you've just describe fits the description of a welfare state. Why do I need to bother learning it if you're there to fill in the blanks for me?
People tend towards laziness and selfishness unless they have no other choice.
It gets really noticeable when someone goes to another server and doesn't have a clue what they're doing - things start to go bad and they literally don't know what is going wrong, so they can't tell people what to do to fix it, assuming they even know.
Instead they'll blame things like bugged green mitos or a tank that dc's to cover up the fact that they are clueless rather than have people know they're useless.
Quote:I say we run through Justice and behead the leaders. Nothing like creative destruction to allow the shoots to grow into lubberly trees. -
Quote:That's a truth I've noticed from ever since I start running raids (and for the most part, unless you're one of those critical few Justice players, likely the only time you would notice is when leading - because then your focus is on the raid as a whole, as opposed to whatever tasks at hand you have). The blunt truth of it is that there are a critical few Justice players who will be able to carry a raid even if they are not leading.
Quote:Those few players are the hidden talent that usually carries a Justice Hami to the finish even when the other players or the overall leader isn't that well versed in strategies and/or leadership.
If/when those players do winding leading a raid, usually those are the ones that get completed the fastest/smoothest/most fun etc.
Those people are the blessing and the bane of Justice. They make things easy so others can be lazy/inept. I wish they'd all take a vacation from the game for a week so everyone else would realize how much those people actually contribute to Justice instead of just being taken for granted.
That being said, if you want to lead a raid as many others have done, your best bet is to get those hidden helpers of Justice to give you a hand. You probably know who most of them are. Some of them even can be lured out with bad cheese and/or catgurls.
This is despite the fact that all of the vet hami leaders are very willing to help teach and impart that knowledge, but alas, people just want to say they lead raids without actually having to do any work.
And that's ok - hami raids depend a lot on vets - far more than any one person, especially the hami leader. And right now, we have hami vets going to raids on Justice, so it would likely only matter if large portions of them stopped going to raids. In the meantime, the vets (and I mean hami vets, not merely game vets, or the players that Pum referenced) will do 90% of the work, the scrapper leader will take credit for the scrappers being fast that night, at least one person will ask about leading a raid when they really mean that just want to be a bind-monkey while everyone else does the work because they don't want to actually learn or lead - they just want the glory.
Again that's fine - it's how things have been done on Justice, at least since I started raiding. The catch comes in when that leader goes to another server and gets put in charge of leading hamis because he comes from Justice. And then doesn't have a clue about hamis and is likely too ignorant to know how sorely ignorant they are. That makes us look bad, and I do wear my server on my sleeve.
I can tell you that on red side, I had 3 people come to me wanting to lead red raids. One has been a macro-monkey blue-side (hami leader figurehead) but honestly doesn't have a clue what they're doing, the second is a good player and would probably be up to speed on what he needs to know in less than 30 minutes - but....he has no hami credibility - I told him to start leading blue raids so he's a known commoditiy and people will follow him on a red one...silence.
At least the 3rd is someone who knows what they're doing and what everyone else is supposed to be doing *and* has the hami cred....sad thing is they're a vet who paid their dues.
Where are the new leaders willing to do the same? -
Nothing like suicide by moderator to liven things up.

Quote:Two things:It is nice for those people inclined, like my wife, but the cynic in me sees all these free transfers as a stealthy way to allow players to move from unpopulated servers over to those more active. The same thing would be accomplished via the dreaded server merge, only players would be forced and it carries the aroma of death.
1) I called the paranoid lunatic conspiracy ravings about this earlier in the thread. Back off, paranoid lunatic conspiracy ravings are mine in this thread. You wanted them, you should have been here earlier.
2) Paranoid lunatic conspiracy ravings sure are simpler than actually thinking. For example, a little bit of imagination would suggest that they wanted to allow people to clear spots on their accounts to make Praetorians and give a chance to people returning to check out GR who maybe weren't here for the Winter server transfers (which as we all saw, led to every server except Freedom and Virtue being shut down because no one was left on the others).
Yup, it's all sinister. -

Personallly, I think they're only doing this to divert attention from the recent forum changes.

Quote:Here's the thing. The mods have an obligation to keep the channel meme - when they say something is violating the family aspect of that, then they are acting on behalf of that meme.I'm narissitic and apathatic to the world around me, I am merely human after all, so my views on what is "Family" might differ to some, so my view on the "Drama" that happened, was when action was taken after the discussion were dying down and when silencing wasn't needed.
In other words, one person doesn't get to decide what is or is not outside of that meme.
Quote:Some don't want the weight of the world on their shoulders, but they had to anyhow, cause it's a responibilty that's hard to understand why, but must be done, I do not wish for the burden, but since I've been "born again" all I feel is a great heavy burden cause the world around me is in pain and in sorrow. -
Quote:Assertion does not equal validitiy.Have I done something to offend you, enrious2? I'm not quite sure where your bitterness is coming from.
Quote:Most of the other people in this thread have at least had the common decency to welcome me and give advice. I would have thought that someone who supports the mentor project would be a bit more supportive. -
Understand that I wasn't present for the events, so I'll limit my reply to the statements you made that I can comment on.
Quote:*shrug* Mods in one or both them tell you differently, but you call them fools or liars. Gotcha.JFA2010 and JU are *BOTH* "Family" channels, try to tell me otherwise is plain foolish...
Quote:I Haven't seen *anybody* "deep down south" or "far into the east" where their felt immature or under a certain "age limit of understanding"
Quote:People tell me to "make my own channel" but how long did it take for Chome to gain the masses like JFA did?
Huh?
Quote:People fail to understand that channels, and this game are two thing wrapped in one, but people always tell me "I want to play the game, not mod the channel" that is the problem, even ask Tic-Toc, he's no longer around and was tired himself about "policing" the people his channels created...
Secondly, if you had a point in your Tic-Toc story, it wasn't clear.
Quote:Nighttime after 9pm MT to me is rather dead, few ITF's but not not as much as during the day when I am mostly working, so if people want to <shoot the <@#$%&> until then should be ok as long as no one is reporting offenses to the mods, that so hard?
Quote:That main fact is that Justice is all about Drama and Randomness, don't kill Justice, don't make victims suffer cause you want to "Keep Order" learn and understand that certain time..NOTHING IS GOING ON! if it doesn't look like we suffer from tourettes syndrome, if there was no religion or politics involved, or anything of that matter, it should be OK, for awhile, till somebody that SERIOUSLY needs help or is forming something, that's when things should be modded, to keep the channel what it's focused on, and when it's not, "whatever goes, but keep it from angering everyone and not to offend"
Quote:When people are PM'ing me as why they were silenced, I feel personally obligated to voice out their concerns, I not a Mod, do not have your public PM me about things to why they felt victim to unfair ruling, I multitask and chat and play at the same time, I do not want to be Sigmund Freud and try to rationize your Mods actions, so take them aside and govern them properly on trying to "Think Before You Act"
See the problem? Doubly so if you're arguing policy.
As it is, everyone has the same recourse with mod actions or policies - take it up with Chrome if it's in JU, or with a JfA mod if it's in JfA.
There was a reason why Hercules elected not to bear the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Quote:I am Adult, 30+ years at that, I goof up in slips cause I'm free natured and passionate about the life I have even though I gave them up many years ago, but I understand the Prime time might not be best suited for "Adult Conversations" but when all is calm and people want to just keep alive until something comes up, they should, that really hard? that's what I'm really getting at, people pop in and have no clue whats going on and have powers and short judgments, they do irrational things, like what happened last night, and it's not something I wish these channels to turn into, a place where we are forced to be silent of our individualism, INDIVIDUALISM is JUSTICE!
I can name 3 people right now who annoy me a lot in global channels, and they know it. They also know that they're free to discuss whatever inane topic they want to, so long as they don't violate the rules.
Quote:Why is only Candlestick the one on my side on this?
See, you don't voluntarily join a channel (thereby agreeing to follow the rules of that channel) and then tell everyone that they're wrong for having the channel meme the way it is.
There's a much better recourse:
Get out.
Look, not every channel is for everyone, nor is everyone for every channel. If you join a public channel and then want to complain about the rules of it, I get that. I really do. But let me ask you this - did you ever stop and think that maybe it's because of those rules that they became so trendy?
Not saying it's the case, nor am I saying that you have no right to feel outraged if you were geniunely the victim of poor moderation. As I said, I wasn't there so I can't comment on it.
However, there are venues to take to air your dispute. Even here, there are more constructive ways of doing so without people totally dismissing you.
I will say this though. If you'd like JU to be the type of place where you can get into adult chat just because it's late at night for you, then based on my understanding of the channel purpose, you may wish to leave it as I don't think it'll be the sort of place you'll be comfortable in.
I can be brusque and abrasive, I know. I would hope you understand that I'm being honest with you - when you start to rant, your position loses focus and I have no idea what you're saying. Try to avoid rhetoric and simply explain things, it causes less room for misunderstanding. -
You need me, Springfield. Your guilty conscience may move you to vote Democratic, but deep down you long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and rule you like a king. That's why I did this, to save you from yourselves. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a city to run.
