  1. Yup, it's completely fabricated.

Fact of the matter is we cannot please or accommodate everyone.. It's unfortunate but its reality.

Thankfully there were more people that enjoyed it and the new format VS those that didnt.

Good Luck to the winners on test. I actually enjoyed checking out what Virtue had to offer. Ya'll rocked it.

    Peace.
I miss the ability to leave positive rep.

The most the PERC can take away from this situation is that a lot of players felt the event was mishandled, both in advertising and in execution, and players have learned something of a lesson regarding paying closer attention to events in which they have an interest.

We could go on and on, but I think it's time to move on.
I hope that everyone learned those lessons, be they event organizers who understand the burden of reasonable dissemination of information, making sure participants are kept informed of proceedings during the event, and evaluating feedback after the event with an eye towards improving the next one.

And I hope that players learn that the only person responsible for their remembering to attend or to schedule an appearance is themselves; times posted in all earthly timezones, plus emails, plus IMs, plus tweets, plus candygrams while nice are by no means required - some level of player ownership should be involved.

Of course, if player ownership is involved, then the event should be felt to be worthwhile by said players.

And of course there is Arizona, Hawaii and some parts of Canada that do not observe the time changes. As well as Asia, most of Africa, most of Australia and South America. Oh, yeah, and Iceland.

Just a little clarity for when you post times.

Vorac: your friendly neighborhood time nazi.

Lastly, I don't think what Ice said can be refuted - if you forgot about it, missed it, couldn't be bothered to find out what time it was then clearly it wasn't the most important thing in your life.

And in at least one poster here, it's something I can empathize with; having been there. Still doesn't make it Ice's responsibility to constantly remind people to attend; indeed if regular hami raids require such regular reminders, then I'd argue it'd be a waste of time and energy. But as has been pointed out, it's up to PERC to do it how they wish to do it.
  5. "Today I and 8 other people at Paragon Studios were let go as part of restructuring. I was completely shocked by this. It's the first time I've ever lost a job outside of the whole studio collapsing. I've never been basically told we no longer need you here."

    *cough*

    Please do.
  8. Again Philly, why even bother with Feycat? They're complaining that the rednames don't do the very things you show them doing in your four links that Fey quoted - and then complained they don't do!

Philly, they don't want substance from OCR, just manual-gratification.

Especially the ones too lazy to look at the links.
  10. I think you are all giving Protector way too much seriousness.

    They hit us with mimes.

I say we hit them with puns.

    Hello Justice

I think Occam's Razor would suggest that it was merely an attempt to get around any in or out of game bans that he may have been subject to.

  18. Some people are over-educated for their intelligence.
  19. Expecting to be sated by words from OCR or devs is pointless, IMO.

We're consumers of a product. Either the product satisfies or it does not. You provide feedback and see if the product is altered to suit. Anything else is rubbish.
  20. Could you give some examples in CoX terms, for those of us who haven't played those games?

Source? Reasoned argument based upon evidence? Tell you what, I'll be happy to sell an item to another player for more than the wealth cap for the item and then have myself reported.

Another issue is the anti-real-money-trader issue. Many of the existing restrictions on item transfer capabilities implemented in the game are done so to prevent Real Money Traders from leveraging the system. One of the catastrophically large problems with your Inf.On.Delivery. cross-server-trade trade idea is that it removes a rather large time barrier from the R.M.T.'s.
How? In what part of reality does the existing ability to send 999,999,999 inf and/or an item to any non-trial account, on any side, on any server server to deter this? Or, more importantly, how would the ability to have the C.O.D. function alter things so that RMTs could come out noticably ahead of where they are now?

    Quote:
Right now, R.M.T. item suppliers are largely constrained. In order to deliver purchased services and goods in games, R.M.T. players have to have avatars across multiple servers, which increases their log visibility, and makes identifying them much easier for the Game-Moderators. R.M.T. players also have to have each of these server avatars at a specific level. This means that an R.M.T. player has to sink a considerable amount of time into each server they wish to sell on. This combination of suken-time and log visibility makes life difficult for the R.M.T. player, but really doesn't have a direct impact on the normal player who is not trying to abuse the market system and terms of service.
For someone who is speaking so much of RMTs, it's obvious you don't have a clue how they can and do operate.

Did you miss the i18 patch notes? Players can now email to one another and attach an item or up to 999,999,999 inf - to a toon on any server and on any side!. Cool, huh?

Oh, and here's the barrier of entry - maybe 30 mins of time to get to lvl 10.

But go on, pray be as lucid as all of your other posts.

I'm going to be blunt. What you want Enrious is a Real Money Trader Player's Wet Dream.
I believe the term is "dull".

    Quote:
What you want is the ability to directly charge for and send items across servers. This would allow R.M.T. players to focus on one server only, and then they could simply email items / services with wild abandon.
Look, before I go on, let me ask you a very simple question. Outside of the forums, have you actually played the game in the last year?

I'm trying to attribute to ignorance of how the game works instead of other causes.

    Quote:
Yes, the developers could monitor all private trades, and it would be possible to eventually track down the R.M.T. players even with an Inf.on.demand cross-server trade platform.
Lol. You totally belong in the pvp forums.

Sorry, milk came out my nose.

You gotta warn me before you insert intended humor in your posts.

    Quote:
Inf.On.Demand cross-server trades are simply a bad idea that is only going to benefit two classes of players.

Those who are Real Money Traders.

Those who are already in violation of terms of service.

Our devs realize that. Our devs are not going to cater or do anything to help those two classes of players.
Pointing out the logical fallacies here would gather me no xp. You con grey.
