  1. LOL at the lumberg cameo at the end of this thread. Oh and perma-hasten + SD is possible on a dm/sd, though not practical. Mine gets there with a little help from the FFB proc in energy torrent, though I don't have capped DDR (86.93% i believe) and my aoe is sitting at 42% T.T... but hey no glad pvp io!

    Envenomed Dagger

    I carry these regularly on my dm/sd when I run TF's or doing mother-ship raids. Very noticeable when taking down AV's significantly faster, especially when its damage is backed up by AAO+SD on top of the -250% regen and especially helpful against those pesky Rikti Magus eb's.
  3. I took you're advice Sant and worked ripper into my build, tweaked a few things here and there and here it is. This is the build I'm gonna go with. I dropped Impale purely to fit in Ripper, can't say I will miss slow pitching ST spines :P.

  4. Originally I was thinking ripper wasn't really necessary if throw spines is up in 5 sec, and spine burst in 6. I run into the mob, throw spines, position for spine burst (insert 3 sec animation)BAM and throw spines is up again. Im just not a huge fan of the max 5 targets on ripper and 7 foot range? ugh, that's worse than every other 8 foot scrapper pbaoe. Does it really make that much of a difference?
  5. Here's the first draft of my spines/dark build. Albeit a little extreme in some cases, (probably more psi resist than you'll need) it still manages to have at least 20% def to all, solid accuracy and recovery on top of managing to fit procs in to throw spines, death shroud and quills. Anyways, let me know what ya think Santorican. Maybe we can bounce some ideas off each others builds.

  6. My one wish would be for Ice Armor to be re-modelled and perhaps proliferated. I generally enjoy the set but can't stand the look of it. I wish it was much sleeker looking and less bulky, like a fine layer of reflective ice. That would fully take advantage of the new environmental reflections too!

    and if thats asking too much then i'd gladly settle for this...

  8. Instead of making yet another dm/sd help thread, I thought maybe I'd throw my own build on the end of this seeing as how ferne seems pretty happy with the way his build is going .
    I'm having a little trouble soft-capping without pvp ios (seeing as how they're just to expensive for 1 recipe). Here's my build, recharge levels are good, recovery is managable I think. The only thing I would perfer not to change is having energy torrent w/ FFB proc if thats at all possible, otherwise I'm game for any other changes. Having a travel power would be nice.

    I took energy torrent on my DM/SD and put a forcefeedback proc in it and let me tell you, this helps immensely to keep hasten, SC and SD up regularly even when taking into account the proc's suppression times. In fact I use it more frequently for the proc and mob opener then I do to supplement added aoe, though its does decent dmg after I've soul drained a mob.

  11. I don't have a lot of experience on different servers but I've had no problem finding a ToE proc on WW's on freedom. In fact I have one on my kat/da, claws/da, spines/da and even one in storage. By the time my /DA toon reaches 30 I almost always have enough influence to buy one. An easy 30 mil or less will get you one if you're willing to have your inf sit on the market till you get one. The lower the level, the better just so you can slot it sooner (obviously). It makes a world of difference. I think FA/DA/Blaze would be a great combo if you could manage your end bar and would be very curious to see a build if choose to pursue this combo
  12. Oh of course, not say go for damage bonuses solely or even primarily, but if you can manage another 15-18% on top of your build, that Is just like running 2 assaults for the end cost of one. 91.75% damage buff if your AM is perma is a pretty nice cherry on top of all the layers of -res.
  13. This may or may not mean anything to you Rad/Sonics out there but solo, I'm finding that a 73.75% constant damage buff to just gravy! (assault+AM+new vigilance) Mind you that's on an SO build. Makes me start thinking about trying to go for damage bonuses via IOs.
  14. When the proc fires does it have a chance to proc for each enemy it hits or will it cause KD across the whole range of the aoe when it fires? (ie.slotted in fireball will fireball cause the whole mob to be knocked down)

  17. I like the s/l build purely because I can softcap to it with as little as a small purple but I'm still having my doubts on which would be better, 22 melee + 20 ranged or 35 s/l. The positional build does have better global acc and recharge, as well as a nice little added damage bonus, but I doubt the difference in recharge is gonna really make a difference. Guess the s/l being the higher number will be more reliable than the lower positionals.

  20. This is an all purpose pve build. I'm trying to achieve a decent amount of positonal defense, I avidly use inspirations so carrying purples isn't an issue but I would like to get as much as i can out of the build. Problem is I'm finding that I'm having to sacrifice recharge to do so. I'm flexible on power choices as well so any ideas are welcome.

    Well I don't have any personal experience with the scrapper variant of the power so I can't really tell you why that's happening except to speculate that perhaps either your accuracy Isn't allowing TT to hit or the mobs are resistant. Darkness mastery or not, I would hold on to burn and maybe I can work in the blaze mastery into the build or weapon mastery instead. I noticed you had so HO enhancements in the build, whats your budget exactly?

    Which foes are you fighting when this happens? Its possible that those foes are resistant to immobilization effects. TT is a mag 3 immob, it should hold anything thats not resistant to it. What do you want to do with this toon exactly?

    Next time even just post the data chunk and It will be much easier for someone to help you. This is what I came up with given the powers you've chosen (sans touch of fear which I've dropped to fit plasma shield in) which basically makes your individual powers more efficient first and foremost then went for bonuses. Basically went for just enough recharge to make the tentacles + burn combo work perma. Tentacles is up every 8 seconds which is as long as the -tohit debuff is gonna last and burn is up every 10. This build SHOULD be pretty affordable.
