The mathematical probability of this happening pre i13 to 2 people would have been astronomical! The only logical explanation is enemies recipe drop rate has changed.
I can't say I've noticed any change in A and B drops.
Bit of a funny story here. I started my Fire/Shield Scrapper Ghostblaze on Infinity when i13 rolled out. Our SG there didn't have any Halloween salvage racked but I really wanted to get a second costume done by the time he had Fly. The Dark shield, while very nice-looking, has a huge "contrail" effect that makes it difficult to see where you're going when flying or in narrow tunnels. So I did something I don't normally do: I transfered a million from my main on Virtue via the CH so Ghostblaze could buy his salvage.
Just as I turned it in, someone announced a costume contest in Atlas starting in five minutes. I bolted over...and took second place, a cool 3 million inf prize. Go figure.
But as if that wasn't enough, on Sunday when I visited Serge to get my level 20 costume mission, I took out some green Outcasts that agroed on me when I landed...and the last one dropped a level 18 Steadfast -KB. Which sold for just over 10 million after fees.
I've gotten a number of other set drops, both A's and B's, on the characters I've been actually playing (mainly Ghostblaze, and my main on Virtue, for whom I'm working on an alternate build). I can't say I could see any difference in drop rates. As for the probability that you would both be skunked, it's really not all that unlikely. Streaks like that are inevitable.

You could be right. BUT for 2 people on 2 different acounts at the same time. Its posible but seems unlikely -

Dear Positron,
Would you be so kind as to please change or petition to change the game in this manner: set recipes are no longer dropped by any defeated enemies.
So the only way a person can get their hands on that LotG is by merit vendor or through WWs once someone else has bought the LotG through Merit vendor.
Please force unto the community the need to co-op. No more cries for "fillers" and "mentors".
How to address the PL aspect of the game...unfortunately only one solution: you can only sk up to a max of 5 lvl difference or so. So no more lvl 1s running around PI.
Thy will be done.
Thank you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bolding above is my emphasis.
OK. Seriously, Positron, this is an ISSUE. My RL BFF and I played about total of 16 hours the last 4 days. We played some 48-50 and some 20-25lvl characters.
Aside from 1 purple, I received ZERO set drops, Brad received 2 purples and ZERO pool A&B.
So, my question is, why were the drop rates for A&B changed, and why were we not informed.
EVERY other recipe I got, was a standard IO recipe. On my level 22 controller, I got zero recipes no IO, no temp power (like ethereal shift), no pool A/B, this was on 7 hours of play. ZERO recipes on 7 hours of story arc and police scanner play. All I got were crappy DO's and salvage (and merits for story arcs in Striga).
The mathematical probability of this happening pre i13 to 2 people would have been astronomical! The only logical explanation is enemies recipe drop rate has changed.
Furthermore, upon discussion in game, and review on the boards I'm not the only one who has seen this issue.
So where did the pool A/B drops go?
I'm hoping it's a bug, but I'm assuming it was a nerf. -
First I want to welcome the person representing the Hero that assigns my absolute favorite Task Force* in the whole game. Some may call me crazy, but I absolutely love, LOVE, LOVE, [u] LOVE! [u] the Clockwork , they are like little metal kitties, so damn cute! I just want to reach into the screen pick up a Gear or an Oscillator and snuggle him!
Anyway, Welcome Synapse!
My comments about the merit reward system are this...
1) I absolutely love Memphis_Bill's suggestion. Though I would like to see it (for task forces only) to be around 200-250 defeats, rather than his number; in addition to a small bonus upon completion (say 5-10 merits).
2) Someone suggested having merits drop at 0.5% chance at all times, thus adding to the possibility of a random "treat", while just doing every day stuff (hunt missions, safeguards, etc). However, I think that post got nuked, or edited... I however think that is a great suggestion; do you guys have any plans on doing something like this?
3) Giant Monsters: Its very annoying to get a group of people to take out certain GM's (Lusca i.e.). Are there any plans for doling out a MINIMUM amount of merits for defeating a GM, something pleasant, yet small enough to not encourage farming (I am not including the general Monster Isle DE monsters in this suggestion,). My suggestion would be 5ish, maybe 7 for Lusca.
Thanks for your clear and concise responses that you have already provided, and welcome!

I'll second (third) the request that they put up a lighthouse in your honor somewhere along the Rogue Islands and Paragon City coasts. Least they could do after all your hard work for the game as a whole, and this community in particular.

Happy trails, Alex. Ya done good here.

I think that the lighthouse should
<ul type="square">[*]Work (i.e. have a spinning shining light, that is visibly brighter at night)[*]When clicked on, asks the user if they have visited http://boards.coh.com and looked at the community digest located in the "Dev Digest" of the forums, to see if there are any upcoming community events they may be interested in.[/list]
I say this because I was playing for a long, long time before I realized there were discussion boards. (I was introduced by a friend).
So if the light house looks cool enough, and its in a well traveled area (Talos, and maybe a ferry in Port Oaks), and its clear its a click-able object, it might instruct some new players to check out the boards.
I can think of a no more fitting homage to LIGHTHOUSE. -
So he should have hit 50 by now, and I'm dying to see one of his "screenshots" of him holding aggro during the LRSF.
And maybe a "screenshot" of him fighting Statesman and Psyche? -

Ok, we know.
We should have had said something more by now, about Issue 13. But like all great architectural endeavors, Issue 13 is taking on a life of its own and were not quite ready to spill forth all the information.
So, just a quick note to say thanks for your patience, even though we know you may not really be patient. Trust us, its coming; were working on it and theres more great stuff coming (like you havent heard that before, but really, we mean it!)
Thanks!

So, Positron, how about a "Happy Autumn" gift in the way of an issue 13 info release tomorrow? ....even just a smidgen of info <gives Positron sad puppy eyes,> -

So why is it "combat flight" for peacebringers is still affected by negative fly affects, if hover has been changed?
And don't give me that switch to nova [censored], why hasn't this changed?

Seriously? Read the patch notes again...

I want to set up something horrible, stop the war between the Rularuu and the Knives of Artemis; because I think that mission would be pure hell for just about every archtype.

I would love to get in on that mission!!!

Agreed, I think half the funs going to be trying to come up with the biggest PITA mission for your team.
I'm thinking of a joint Malta/Carnie one for starters.

Mission: Battle to be number one.
Defeat the vanguard
Defeat BS, GW, Mako, Scirocco
Defeat the Freedom Phalanx
Defeat Lord Recluse
Defeat Statesman...again...and again...oh man I'd love to beat up statesman over and over.

Defeat the Vindicators, and

BTW, why are the Sunstorm/Shadowstar/Moonfire, NOT enemies on the LRSF?
END KHELDIAN DISCRIMINATION NOW, SEPERATE IS NOT EQUAL!

I hope that new backgrounders are being included in this. My employees, coworkers and self, are getting very tired of looking at the Ouroborus symbol (issue 11 backgrounder). So, I eagerly await the new backgrounders so I can pimp my desktops at work.

GREAT Avatar. it would be even better if it showed the CWK, then faded to BS, with the text appearing over it.
But regardless, that's still genius! -
1) you can send tells to get yourself on a team
2) after about 10 minutes they'd all be back anyway. -
Question*,
Will the Rikti ever come without announcing, I'd really like some full on invasion days with absolutely no advance announcement what so ever, even if its just one or two days here and there, having it turned on.
Would that be too difficult to accomplish? Logistically unsound?
I ask this because 1. whenever I try to plan something I get screwed.
2. I also mainly ask this for immersion effect, if we log on one day and don't know they are invading, then it really does feel like an invasion.
I also wonder if it is feasable to have these turned on for a day or two here and there, between regularly scheduled invasions, could you up the ante on them. Make them constantly invading, or something, so that way not only is it a suprise invasion, it feels like a constant and total threat?
If not, then some suprise invasions would be cool.
For all of those who can't read, go ahead and skip this section,.
YES I know suprise invasions already happen when someone completes a LGTF. I AM NOT talking about this. I am talking about random days that are not released to us, where the invasion is turned on.
*(If this was already asked I apologize I'm at work and while I did try and search this I was distracted). -

That picture looks like its of the signature characters wearing the Roman armors. I see Statesman, Sister Psyche, and Positron (at the end). Not sure who the guy in the beginning and the guy between Sister Psyche and Positron is (Manticore?)

I'm sure they just used those familiar models to advertise. All speculation on it could be ended by someone just saying it was for a "charity fashion show" or something like that. -

I'll just add my vote to Boomtown. Many people didn't like the Hollows, but at least it was a zone with story arcs and trial. Boomtown is literally next to nothing.

I can agree with that, its a section thats just SO messed up its on the bottom rung of city planning, I'd rather have a DA story arc set -

Yes, how about a giant oscillator monster to go with it. We don't have ANY flying GM's yet. -

Oh, and for teleportation. Could that be activated using the map instead? Maybe with a circle around the character's location, showing activation range? Naturally, one would only be able to teleport somewhere that they hae uncovered. I might actually choose this as a travel power if this were implemented.
[/ QUOTE ]
NO!!!
Bind it to the shift key. then its easy as hell to use, there are many of us who use Teleport in combat, and it has saved my [censored] MANY times. -

My problem aside from the cost is that you can only buy it with a credit card. I use timecards, I won't be able to get this, or any other online option like this in the future if I continue with timecards.

I'll tell you what; this friday's drawing for MEga Millions is up to ~$180,000,000. If I win, I'll take home, after taxes and cash-option penalty, about sixty million.
So, if I win ... I'll pay NC^2 three million dollars, cash money on the barrelhead, to simply add the Wedding Pack to every single non-Trial account, active or not.
Would that satisfy your sense of entitlement ...?

Because they offered 2 powers (pocket d pass and jet pak) with the justice armor and sinister costume pieces. And if you didn't own or play the game before this you only had to buy one game and not two. Most of us had already paid for 2 games. But had no problem paying the $9.99 for the extra goodies.
This is giving just a few extra costume pieces. No powers or anything added in game. Sorry until they add something all they are doing is EXTORTING money from the clothes addicts out there. Had their been a badge attached to this then it would have been EXTORTING money from the badge addicts out there.
Positron himself said that this was the reason he didn't add a badge to the pack.
[/ QUOTE ]
From wiktionary:
[ QUOTE ]
Extort: To wrest from an unwilling person by physical force, menace, duress, torture, or any undue or illegal exercise of power or ingenuity; to wrench away (from); to tear away; to wring (from); to exact; as, to extort contributions from the vanquished; to extort confessions of guilt; to extort a promise; to extort payment of a debt.
[/ QUOTE ]
Extortion implies force or threat. No one is forced to pay for this; there are no consequences for not buying it. All they're doing is offering a product, (admittedly an overpriced one,) for those willing to pay for it.
If you don't consider the GvE pack extortion, then this isn't extortion either. It's just a much worse deal.

Last I checked Posi is not threatening to break my kneecaps if I don't buy this. -
I bought the GVE upgrade for the pocket D and the jump pack powers, I doubt I'd buy this unless it came with another travel power boost that didn't overly affect gameplay.
But, I do like the tuxes so I still haven't decided. I'm leaning 60% no, 40% yes, buying "fluff" may help stimulate the economy (rolls eyes at congress).
However, yall know that some [censored] is gonna go down at this thing right, Recluse or Nemisis or someone is gonna show up and kidnap one of them and ruin the whole thing...I'm sure of it.
When have you ever seen a wedding in Comic culture (and my point of reference leads only to the X-Men universe, the avengers, the FF and occasionally spiderman) something inevitably goes wrong.
