  1. really its a moot point, as unless the devs take a powerset with redraw.
    for example dual blades...

copy it and alter the code of the copy to remove redraw.

then have 2 identically built/enhanced what have you characters run the same sequence of power chains on identical targets (not including random variances as that would be impossible)

there would be no way of saying yes it does or no it doesn't.

either deal with the redraw and move on, or don't play a powerset that has it.

not trying to start an arguement or troll, this is just my opinion.
  2. Gotta have player synergy.

Bacon-taunt + any Fire powerset = aroma field

add any storm with gale, hurricane, etc = extended aroma field

now you have critters from the end of a mission map stampeding to you.

secondary effect Baconlust - slack jawed, obscured vision, excessive drooling. the ultimate crowd control.
  3. You know someone will design EpicMealTime hero/villains...

    can already see MusclesGlasses.
  4. just curious but what about this build. unslotted as I have no clue what is good/best and budget is an issue...

please review and leave constructive criticism

  5. Thanks guys, yea guess my main prob was misunderstanding some of the powers and how i slotted them. Just got off work so a little dain bread atm, once i go over the info in more detail and make adjustments according to the advice provided, I should have a revision ready to post for further feedback.
  6. Been playing CoX for a many years (off and on) 15+ month vet. I usually run with a static group of 3-6 friends, and this time around I am attempting to play the role of Main tank.

Here is a toss together build that is close to softcap positional defense. In all honesty I have no clue what I'm doing when it comes to IO builds... please advice.

    Thanks in advance.

Dont want to start a fight or anything like that
i am just bored at work and was trawling through the forums when i happend upon this statment i just thought i would correct ur ideas about travel powers ...

you wrongly belive sprint + ninja run can beat teleport! o.O
teleport is THE fastest travel power in the game ... because you do not actually move as such there is no speed cap and with a power such as range boost you are a god ...

    Fastest Ways To Travel:
    1. teleport with range boost and range ench (although only short term use)
2.Super Jump + super speed used together
    3.Teleport
    4.Super Speed (capped)
    5. Super Jump
    6. Fly

    that is all really

not flaming or anything like that just wanted to try and shed some of knowlage about the game

    ty
heh I fully understand where your coming from, and I do agree that I am not 100% as fast as a porter... but you also have to consider that a true porter uses binds and just holds shift and clicks to chain ports so yea traveling vast distances in seconds. where I run with a static group 1 port 2 jumpers and my NR, the porter does not use said binds and clicks power clicks location computer eventually catches up rinse repeat...so I am as fast as they are when porting.

I don't want to start an argument either but travel powers are a boon. they are not absolutely needed for all players or all builds. Yes they provide a nice dump for set bonuses, yes they are faster then temp travels and NR... but NR takes no power slot and with the right powersets and power choices, it can take loosen up the tightness of a build. just my 2 inf. NR in no way should be a "end all be all" travel power option, its just handy as all hell lol.

Also you do not have to do a bank mish for the raptor jetpack, it is available at the jetpack vendor in Grandville.

According to skipping: My /Ela Stalker sits at 32 and i have already skipped Power Sink because as a stalker i do not have large endu problems at all. Second I think I'll skip Power Surge. The crash can suck but can also be pretty cool ( MoG down = Mob mezz) but as a Stalker I do not go on a mish set on +4/8 or so and I am not a Brute who needs the resists for tanking.
ah my mistake, thanks for correcting me. some of my info is a bit dated...

Personally I run a ElM/ElA stalker but my power choices might help you decide...

1: Charged Brawl (Havoc Punch would be the elec version of yours)
    1: Hide
2: Jacobs Ladder (match to yours)
    4: Charged Armor
    6: AS
    8: Build up
    10: Static shield
    12: Placate
    14: Hurdle
    16: Health
18: Recall Friend (used for duo mission blitz)
    20: Stamina
    22: Conductive Shield
    24: Lightning Reflex
    26: Thunder Strike

I use Ninja Run+sprint as my travel power, with SO's I average 50mph running, 60mph jump speed, 40 foot jump height. For extreme height I use jump pack. (for a comparison I can travel across the zone as fast as a teleporter, and only lose to a superjumper by less then 10 seconds. just my 2 inf... You can find me on Champion if needed.

The skipable power for ElA would be Grounded... its buggy. It protects against knock back/down but only when your on ground, and any slight incline in caverns or on ramps will... well not ground you.
  10. don't know if this is what you want or if its even functional for your situation, but i use the following macro(s) for team buffing...

    /bind (modifier+)numpad# "powexec_name Name of Power$$ team_select #"
    [modifier = lctrl / lshift / lalt]

first # is 1-6 (i'm rarely in teams larger then that, due to static grouping)
second # matches the numpad for ease of usage.

I mainly use this for Recall Friend and Mystic Fortune but it does work for many buffs, just double hit the key and it selects and fires the power. the main advantage is no need to worry about team range with target_next_friend.
  11. my case for example. One friend works at a warehouse so has a funky 4 days on 3 days off schedule, usually sun/mon/tues, so the rest of the time he is to tired to even log on. The other friend has an even funkier schedule. Some times only 2 days off but still able to log on at least 2-3 hours a night. My schedule is a lot more open as I do independent contract labor. So having the potential to have at the least a 3-man pack would not hurt a 2-man team and keeping 3rd man even par for the days that they can actually play for 6-8 hours a day. Doing a 2-man with him and normal grouping with the third even though my exp is halved his wouldn't and he would slowly out level us over time.
  12. Does anyone know if they will increase the number of members to a Leveling Pact?

I rather enjoy not having to wait for my 2 friends to keep up with me in levels, but with the auto-exemplar/sidekicking based on mission level the pact does become semi-redundant.

For a 3-man static group a 3-man pact would be great.
  13. Female Characters

    Upper body
    Chest Witch leather

    Shoulder
    Sinister Plate

Bug : Combining those two items will not mesh. The shoulders 'float' behind the character.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I'm noticing an error message every time I go into teleport mode, and each time I teleport. I get the system message "Unknown Command".

I've figured out this is due to the "+ " and "- " at the beginning of some of those strings in the text files, which is also what makes it act as a toggle. Is there soemthing I'm doing wrong, or should I just expect this error message? Also, is there a way to toggle off this message while I'm teleporting?

Awesome program, awesome binds! Thanks for the hard work!

    [/ QUOTE ]

in the file teleport_off.txt you need to modify the beging.

where is has the "+ $$ change to "+down$$-down$$

this will still allow the key to function as a toggle but prevent any movement.
