All Ill say is that there were two brothers named wright a few years back who said theyd made a flying machine.
they were told they were crazy that it would never work and had people saying many of the same things ive heard so far on this thread.
wholda thunked that a few short decades later after a short flight and being told they should becommited to a loony bin for thinking of it in the first place. that we not only would be flying all over the world but wed even be flying into space and to other planets?
Maybe its real maybe it isnt, maybe the guys ahead of his time and maybe hes nuts. Lets wait till the device actually flops or works before we poopoo him though. -
Will friedles going to be in it, heck yeah Im game for anything he does.

HAPPY BIRFDAY!! *poucnes and birfday huggles*

it also falls in line with the comics portrayal of Hulk recently. best exemplified by the quote "im playing nice with banner now" said by Hulk to one person. Banner has always been an influence of a sort on Hulk that tiny bit of conscience that keeps him from becoming a trully destructive force.
even hints of banners intelligence can show through from time to time. -

Saw it and enjoyed it. A well done finale for the series as is. They took out a kit of exposition and some sequences I would have left in, such as dumbledores explantion of why Harry instead of nevelle was the chosen one and so forth.
On the whole a satisfying ending. -
=^_^= HAPPY BIRFDAY!!

mew spent too much time chasing the dot to watch the show.

it does seem interesting but the issue I have right now is they seem to be character cramming. Bleach has a similar large cast but it introduced said cast slowly over a long time to give the audience a chance to get used to it.
this one introduced no less then a dozen characters in the span of the first 10+ minutes of the episode and then expects you to keep up, as well as adding in the chat room which does have the issue of trying to figure out whos chatting at the time through only voice recognition.
its got some cool mythos in it though so Im gonna see where it goes. -
Quote:the most likely place to end the first movie would be Mirkwood in some fashion. either the entrance to it, or after bilbo resuces the dwarves from the spiders and theyre taken to the Elves.I'm kind of curious where they plan on cutting the movie off at..
I don't know much about The Hobbit, outside of what I remember from that animated movie, that I haven't seen in years.. But I just can't think of a good place to end Part I.. Aside from maybe the slaying of Smaug, because the Battle of Five Armies comes after that right?
Is there enough stuff post-Smaug to turn into a decent part II?
the second movie would open with the dwarves being held captive and bilbos sneaking around the elves prison using the ring. -
As an aside a story in yahoo says that Evangeline lily of Lost fame will be playing an elf in the Hobbit one of the elves of Mirkwood to be specific.

I too love the Batman Wonder Woman pairing hinted at in JLU.
And my all time favorite pairing to this day remains Hawkeye and Mockingbird. the two play off each other so well that its just so much fun to read.
Batman and Catwoman is also a fun relationship to poke with a stick every now and then.
I personally have always despised the Gambit Rogue pairing just never have been able to get behind them as a couple, hes too much of a rogue (pun not intended) and shes been hurt enough by her powers to have that in her life.
Adn while I dont personaly care for the couples I havent seen mentioned in the Iconics Sue and Reed. they are quite literaly the first couple of Marvel as iconic as the first couple of DC Lois and Clark.
Also Wasp and Hank pym should be mentioned. While Pym himself may suck one has to applaud that for decades now hes held the heart of one of the premier beauties in the Marvel U.
for an alternate comic couple I also like Cutter and Leeta from Elf Quest. talk about a whirlwind romance. -
I agree Sinestro could mentor Hal more and Hal could be shown to see Sinestro like a drug addict slowly changing as he uses the yellow ring more and more before finally stopping him.
I want to add to my review also I do agree that one of the few complaints is that the movie does feel a little rushed at times, not especially jarring but it could use another 10-15 of training and build up with the corps. -
Enjoyed the living heck out of it. Real fun movie even in 2D. greta effefcts definately a movie made possible in live action by CGI something that even 10 years ago would have been incredibly difficult to do live action as opposed to animation.
The cast fits nicely Reynolds was fine as Jordan and didnt over do the role like another green hero in a recent film did. Sinestro was well played and Blake Lively was attractive and passable as Carol Ferris.
The action and effects were amazing and the highlight of the film. for purists the story stays reasonably close to canon Gl with some minor changes that make a reasonable sense and can be forgiven.
Definately worth a matinee afternoon, and will own it on DVD. -
