  1. Hello, I recently took a break for a while to try SWTOR (dumb idea.), and resubscribed to CoH yesterday. When I dusted off the ol' Crab spider I remembered how much I enjoyed the character but soon remembered that he was lacking. So skipping what he was because it's not really important, I redesigned his build with the idea of having softcapped defenses while getting resists as high as they could be, while maintaining great damage and having the endurance/recovery to do so. (I also like his CC with immoblizes.) I put the Incarnates I think would be best but I linked the build with them turned off so you can see base numbers.

I didn't entirely slot for a lot of damage, as a lot of my damage comes from Arctic Breath + Venom Grenade + Bile Spray = large amount of rarely resisted toxic. Which of course Suppression would follow etc. etc.

I don't have any purples at the moment, because I need to build up funds for those again whereas I can get the ones I have now fairly easily. When I build up funds again, I suspect it will be fairly easy to find an uber build on forums for a crab with purples.

So if someone good with Crabs could look at the build and see if there's a better way to have the good defenses/resists and increase overall damage, I'd appreciate it. If you can fit in the pets, great. I don't mind. Just post your reasoning with suggestions if you don't mind.

  2. I had been playing TW on Beta for a while now, though I mostly did Scrappers and Brutes. But really, TW goes well with most everything. One thing that it's particularly useful for is that most of the attacks are AoE'y. So each hit is really more of an AoE taunt moreso than other secondaries. This really helps with some of the primaries like Willpower that have pitiful taunt auras and keeps you from spamming taunt. It's one of the best sets for Willpower, and I'm not a huge willpower fan myself.

But Electric works wonderfully with it with Lightning Reflexes, as recharge is important for TW.

However, I think my favorite may be Dark Armor with TW. Most of Titan Weapons attacks are Cones and Dark Armor's Fear and Disorient auras keep them clustered better for those cone attacks. Though personally, I haven't made a Dark/TW Tanker, it was a Scrapper. I'm sure it would still make a viable concept for a tanker if that's your style though. Dark armor is under-rated. :/
  3. So I was essentially going for a build that maximized defense and resistances and had enough speed bonuses to not be crippling slow. So far I have managed to stick with stone/stone/earth but I'm not super attached to earth mastery. I managed to softcap all of my defenses, and have solid resists and only have -60% movement speed. Defense wise I'm good, resists are solid, and movement speed is, well, slow. Can anybody fix this to get more resistance and movespeed while retaining the softcapped defense?

I do not want to invest in purples or hami-o's, though like I said, Earth Mastery is changable. I want to primarily be in Granite Armor form, as well. (except of course against psi-mobs.) Anybody who can increase movement speed or resists anymore, it'd be much appreciated.

  4. Definately Brute over Tank because a Tank just doesn't have the kind of damage of a SUPER STRENGTH god. I'd also have to agree with Willpower due to his dying in the myths as was previously stated.

I would say Super Strength over Mace just for the sake of, though yes somebody with a mace could have super human strength, however what people remember Hercules (Or Heracles if you prefer the greek or the roman tales over each other) is by verbatim, Super Strength. Yeah, some of the animations look kind of funny, but it still fits conceptually better in my opinion.

Because while on the forums, where people can get on and see the Hercules stuff and comment if they know about it, when you get into the game and you have the masses sending you tells 'If ur hercules, y u no super sterngth???' you'll get rather annoyed with that too.
  5. It depends, because depending on the Taskforce and times and such, if you get super damage heavy of a team, you'd want some uber support like plant/rad controller. Very early holds, buffs, heals, and debuffs. You'd be a positron's GOD. And you'd only get better the further along you went.

Orrr, you could be on a team with 7 plant/rad controllers. So you'd need tanky damage kind of thing. So you'd want a tank or scrap of some form.

So in my opinion, you can either get two separate characters, or if you want to save time, I'd agree with the warshade, focusing on your 2 forms. Squishy squid for damage, and Dwarf for tanky. You'd be able to tank as a dwarf pretty much every TF except Posi part 1 I believe. Warshades inherently get team teleporting and there's a great stealth power in the secondary. So Warshade would be great middle of the road of a single character. But, you also don't have too many holds or debuffs. So you either count for a tank or blaster essentially. BUT, being able to switch between those two seamlessly counts for a lot for a single character as well.

  7. So uh, if we got one of the codes, where would we go to get them credited to our accounts? I'm not sure where to enter it. Please help?
  8. This is the first time I've messed with Invulnerability, or Battle Axe really, but I'm really liking this character so far and will probably spend some time/money on him. So I threw this build together and wondered if anyone had any suggestions or ideas that would make him better.

(Also the first time EXPORTING from Mid's, so if I didn't quite check/uncheck the right boxes of what to send, let me know of that too.)

If all works out well, I'll probably do Incarnates with this guy as well, so any pointers there would be awesome!
  9. I can't decide between these two. I feel like WP would be better defensively, but Electric would be fun with the endurance factors and Lightning Reflexes and such. I found a really nice build on another forum post for DB/WP somewhere here. ((Critique on DB/WP Build) I think was the thread.) But I haven't seen many for DB/Elec.

    Pros/Cons of each?
  10. Well, I kinda have taken a break. I know that's pretty vague, but let me try adding details. I like scrappers pretty well. They're my favorite class.

So, in everyone's experience, what is your favorite scrapper that looks the flashiest, is fairly complex gameplay, and is just overall fun?
  11. What is the best class to play that doesn't get boring? I've played pretty much everything and a lot of it just seems boring at this point. What's a good class that I can play and not get bored with?

(By bored I mean, the toon gets stale and I get tired of playing it because it's bland.)
  12. So, I've recently gotten into the farming business. I have a SS/Fire/Energy Tanker that I use to farm with now. Which, he farms like a beast. I'm not disputing that. But it just gets SO BORING! Also, I want to get away from the /fire. I make too many of those. Haha

So my question is, what is a good Brute build that would not include a /fire? I was rolling around the idea of Elec/(WP/Inv)/Mu, but I don't know. And what kind of farm should I make for the Brute?
  13. Well for one, if you plan on using that combo, I'd recommend Omega Maneuver FIRST when it's up. Due to its Taunt, they would cluster nicely for your web grenade.

As for the build, it looks solid, but if you plan on using that combo I'd suggest the venom/frag grenade to be taken from the Archanos Soldier power set rather than Crab spider due to weapon draw animation time.
  14. We have all sorts of one handed weapons. But I'm thinking a powerset that is slow, but very powerful. 2 handed swords, axes, mauls, a tree, etc. Slow recharge, high endurance cost, but high damage and high accuracy. Most powers consisting of cone like damage sweeps, huge single target attacks, and a small aoe circle kind of thing.

I think the 2 handed weapons should be more of a tank/brute thing as well.

Now spears on the other hand are scrappers/stalkers I think. A bit faster, longer range than the average melee attack. Similar power ideas as the other 2H weapons, cones sweeps and the like.

Another note on spears, I think instead of the power that's basically Focus Chi where it buffs you up for a short few seconds... We could have a slightly longer buff where instead of critical hits dealing 200% damage they could deal 300% damage. Slight bonus to increase critical chance. Because surely a spear through the skull would deal a bit more than twice the amount of damage. Just saying.

I'd just really like spears mostly, the swords and axes and such were an after though. And I suppose they could be rolled into one powerpool with spears, but I think logically they're too different for that and you could do so much more as separate things. But I believe spears would be an excellent addition to the game.
