    You're misinformed.
AS is still partially unresisted, as it always was.
The issue is the DR curve hitting AS way way too hard, stacked on top the fact that AS's interrupt time was definitely not taken into account when doing it's damage calculation (unlike snipes and other such interruptible powers).

Your not on the d6 team so your good or badness on the d8 team is moot. It should not have been the team captains - the pvpec should have determined the order based on captains statements of team loss and team skill set (so yeah your 46 ice rad would have weighted it).
our flying ice/rad is pro and only logs on for matches. he doesn't need practice.

people deciding the order is inherently flawed.
imagine if hot heals was captain. would you really ever ever ever give him first pick? do you think kat would? or how about if Galactor or Divine was a captain, would i actually give him first pick? i don't think so.

a council deciding draft orders is dumb.

firstly because win-loss ratios don't tell you much (hypothetically, going against team bad is just gonna boost everyone's points, so in that first round, you're better served by not going against them. so you would end up deciding draft picks based off of K-D ratios determined by who you fight in the first few weeks.)

secondly, statements of team skill can be greatly exaggerated and subjective (example: Dex's team can say they have Elf Stalker, which is akin to having a 46 ice/rad; hence gaining quite a few points in the "i'm bad gimme first pick draft league", when their d6 is pretty damn solid).

    Trust the ******* RNG; it's f fair.

yeah ok, we should have banned insps and more than 2 forts; the villain ladder was not nearly as full of carebears as this current iteration of the ladder/league is. that **** would have never gone through.

drafting people is part of the game. grats. no difference.

first season I placed people when folks lost numbers. I caught hell for it from ajax and silent method but it was for balance. Some teams took it upon themselves to find replacements come to me and say "hey I can get so and so" and I would ping the other captains and most would agree. The goal and spirit was to stay competitvie among teams. Even ajax agreed on that. When Slient sent me a tell saying I am adding Tanzie to my team I told him no. His team was full of vet pvpers and if tanzie wanted to be a sub I would find a team that needed him.

Second season we just ran a shorter sign up and turn around on draft so no fillers were needed and adjusted for team sizes.

Everyone always asked me why I never was a captain or played in the leauge. I told them "because i have to make decsisions that affect the out come of the league." Season two Rox, who was in OS at the time, was pissed at me because he was 7th pick round one. I told him it was all random.

even so...the second draft order should have been needs most first pick. You have a team that says they don't even need to participate suddenly wanting to, and getting a better pick order than other teams with fewer than 8 d6 players? It may be all random, but it looks very biased.

and I was in renegades for the last iteration of a ladder not the villian ladder and say what you want about spec he never did things out of spite.
"needs most" is trash. total trash.
i could say my team needed it most because we had a flying lvl 46 ice/rad and i'm a horrible player. who gets to decide if these are valid reasons? a council of captains that most likely don't like me? hahaha. good **** jimmay. mf good funny ****.

anyways. if you can weaken the opposition, why not do it? that's tactical. it's akin to not popping greens in a match because "it's not nice, because of all the effort the other team is putting forth"/// whether you wanna ascribe malice to it or not is up to you.. it is irrelevant.

tactical thinking is frowned upon in this league?

or how about next time, we roll dice on draft picks?

this stuff is funny coming from someone who was part of the renegades; the group that practically invented in-system tactical thought in the villain ladder....

yup... the personal insistence of some players on being a pure damage toon is why most teams don't run forts or doms.
good doms/good forts disrupt the crap out of the other team while joining in on a spike occasionally.

But the noobs apparently did. And now we have the noob vision of PvP, and as far as the devs are concerned we have only ourselves to blame. Yeah, I know, it's BS. But they are the ones we have to convince if you want to have any hope of seeing any of these changes made. Present them with a good case. Don't just make a wish list and expect changes. We tried that before. It didn't work and they told us why it didn't work. Explain to them in detail exactly why every single one of these changes need to happen and why PvP would be better for it. They aren't going to listen to people QQing "oh my stalker sux! i want to 2 shot baddos! fix it noa!"
    You're way off base, Anti.
You're concentrating on the two-shot aspect and not even daring to into the numerical issue that is animation times.
At this point, people aren't spiking with double sharks in high end arena; why? the the highest burst achievable in the game is coming from snipe spikes and delayed damage. That should tell you something.

Centering the issue on the number of clicks it takes to kill someone is retardedly naive.
Make an argument doing the opposite; the amount of clicks/time/experience/etc that it takes to evade a kill. At this point, even an AS -> Placate -> Sharks spike coming from a single stalker will give the most inexperienced player a window of about 2.5-3 seconds to pop greens, phase, or hiber. Can you say the same about a Snipe-> Will Dom -> Etc, Delayed damage spike? Or a Mez spike from a Dom?
How about a crit greater fire sword from a non-retarded scrapper (it should crit for something like 800 points if the person that built the toon does not have downs syndrome) followed by a cremate?
These are damage ATs and the stalker should be the highest burst damage AT in the game (coming out of hide only, of course).
This is currently not the case; and a buff to AS is the best way to fix it.

I dont mean to be a dick, as i have some semblance of respect for you, Mr. Bane Advocate; but seriously, you have not partaken in any high end pvp, EVER. Acknowledge you're not experienced enough to contribute to a good discussion and take a seat.

Granted, like all status effects in PvP, it can be utterly ignored if someone pops a breakie, but that buys you a second to do something else. Also, since Fearsome Stare is a massive to-hit debuff, I still like opening with it.

It's funny as hell when you hit a melee-type with it and they've run out of breakies. If their cowering wasn't satisfaction enough, their quick death is.
break frees do nothing in i13+ pvp.

    Animated Tails

i heard that if you will dom a character with an animated tail, you give it +hp.
  21. i just wanna say that all you mf carebears are lucky this isn't i12; if you'd have said that you'd only play for a specific team and signed up for a second draft like this, you'd have gotten picked and benched/told to leave vent/log off/etc for being a tard.

I think that as long as Double *** can take out a target (which it can and still will be able to) then everything is "ok".

Also with the proposed Mez change getting off an AS should be relatively simple under proper coordination.
Are you trying to tell me that over a span of 10 minutes, a stalker and corruptor will be able to pull off the same amount of kills as their hero counter-parts (burst damage: blaster, troller/defender: emp, etc)?

While I do agree that in packs of +3 stalkers, sharks are truly unbalanced; stalkers are in the "about right" to "below-average" point if you take the 3+ condition away. That's what needs to be reworked.

There is a naive assumption that the current TS system actually helps melee in a 1v1. If anything, TS makes it so melee only toons have an extremely hard time catching up with a ranged attacker which can suppress them while still running away, or can break LOS after getting hit once.

At this point, TS only makes zone pvp gangbangs a lot easier.
  24. Way too many things i disagree with.

    - The rep system is dumb and therefore should not be cornerstone of a pvp merit system. It fosters dumb play and lowers the overall skill level expected of a player engaging in PVP. The goal should be having a system that teaching newbies how to play by rewarding intelligent gaming. The rep system gives you optimal results when you cycle through targets sequentially. No good pvp team does this; it's dumb. People don't learn to evade when they are never targeted. People don't learn to spike coherent if there are no good evaders. Either the system for PVP merits needs to be objective-based (ie, capture the flag, team wins, final match kill differentials, etc) or contribution based (ie, warhammer-style rep where healers get "rep" depending on how much they heal and who they keep alive).

    - If you remove the critical effect from stalker patrons, AS needs to be buffed. Either through raising the base damage or lowering the DR curve on damage for stalkers. Back in the day, one hit after getting AS'd meant you were dead on a squishy. The interrupt time on AS should be used when calculating the base damage.

    - Kheld damage is ok. As much hell as I give them kheld players, the problem at this point is that all the kheld data points are coming from really inexperienced players that have yet to learn how to build one adequately. It's essentially like saying that Regen is a bad secondary because Demon Slayer dies on it.

    - Speaking of Regen; scrappers needs to be looked at after another zone pvp revamp. The current rule-set makes them far too easy to play in a zone environment. Regen needs to be looked at too, as it is currently the only viable scrapper secondary.

    - Offensive toggles cause travel suppression. Either their recharge should be tripled while in a PVP zone, or suppression should last only during the first 4 seconds of being toggled (my preferred fix).

    - Remove base resists from No DR matches. We've been asking for this for over a year. Curious Observer told us back in i13 that it was the most requested change back then; can we please get that done?
