Someone's just being an attention-seeking :auses:: not-nice-person. Pretty much EVERYTHING in in this game is an "homage" to something; States himself is a "tribute' to Captain America, at least in his general look and attitude. (Yes, I know States doesn't use a shield X-p )

We have pop-culture references out the proverbial wazoo (Raise your hand if you've rescued "L. Jenkins" !) The enemy mobs are tributes to villains of the Golden Age of Comicdom (Dr. Vahz is an excellent example, as are the Fifth Collumn)

As for the poster's other observation...

In the United States, the Copyright Act defines "derivative work" in 17 U.S.C. § 101:

A “derivative work” is a work based upon one or more preexisting works, such as a translation, musical arrangement, dramatization, fictionalization, motion picture version, sound recording, art reproduction, abridgment, condensation, or any other form in which a work may be recast, transformed, or adapted. A work consisting of editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications which, as a whole, represent an original work of authorship, is a “derivative work”.

I think this is more of a gray area. If you named all the characters after Fantastic Voyage characters, etc., then I could see where you might be flirting with disaster, or at least nerfing of your arc. However, in a game where an entire power set is- essentially- a tribute including everything but the sound effect *snikt !*, it would be hard indeed to condemn anyone who clearly states "This is a tribute to a creative work I admire."

We, on the whole, are comic book geeks, pop-culture children, sci-fi/ fantasy nerds; [u]We not only LIKE this stuff, we EXPECT it from each other. [u]. When you "show some love" for a icon of Science Fiction, you're not poaching his work, you're just acknowledging our collective roots, and maybe introducing him to a new generation.

Hunter lives on both sides already And it'll get worse eventually, but he doesn't know that. LOL

Subtle would jump simply because he isn't Heroic; he's a Stalker in a Stone Tank body.

Shorty could not be pulled from the Forces of Good by anyone. He is absolutely "innocent", and his understanding of "bad" is more rock solid than Subtle's Granite form. A trusted person could trick him once to do something shady, but not twice.

Scimmia (my PB) isn't inherently good, but he's idealistic enough that he wouldn't switch.

Working Class Dog might could dabble in good, since his "evil" is really just an anger issue...and a LOT of testosterone !

Killer Jill will be good again one day... but not soon.

Those are the top ones. I'm SERIOUSLY toying (yet again) with having my Ninja Blade stalker back on Protector, just so I can toy with the idea of someone with no real sense of right and wrong jumping back and forth between the two.
