today 11/5) i was at bestbuy looking at games, while there i noticed two guys looking at GW2. ?By the time i was done chatting with them they had lost interest in GW2, and hopefully all NCsoft products in the future.
Were we all in our multitudes to reverse evangelize NCs products they would probably fail in North America.
Word of mouth drives game sales or the lack of them, we should use our mouths when ever possible to make NCsoft regret this poorly thought out decision. -
i lost vip for a few days while i was out of town for a friends wedding.
i thought no big deal, ill renew when i return, sigh.
i really dont feel like logging in without vip status, as incarnate was so much fun.
i went ahead and uninstalled the client just so it wouldnt torment me. -
Its not one im going to use however it does have softcap and all the powers you would mostly want. It also looks fairly cheap.
/not the build im using just odd enough i wanted to share

this is one of my oldest toons still around and he is a mess.
In fact hes such a mess Im at a loss in ways to fix him however as always any thoughts are appreciated.
I was thinking after posting this really has been one of my most satisfying characters, the sight of him leaping up
and planting an eagles claw with the accompanying sound effect is still awesome to experience.
/i do wish cak had a better animation its a wierd combination looking move that just seems awkward.

Quote:hmm ill try that as a second build and play with it. i have the -res proc setting in storage in ww i never thought about slotting it in gc. I also never considered tactics instead of fa so ill try both and see which i like better.Ok first question: Is there any limit on inf you wanna spend on this toon? If not your power choices similiar to mine and if you want I can post my build later.
For now my suggestions; Remove DA it drops your dps and you don't really need it while you have elude and destiny. Get hasten instead or converse power since you said you have endurance problems.
Remove combat jumping too since it doesn't contribute much to your defense. To make it simpler one small luck gives %12.5 defense so if you are at %46.5 defense on all melee, ranged and AoE you can get incarnate defense with just one luck. Without CJ and DA your defense sits at %53.2 melee, %54.9 ranged and %49 AoE so you can get to incarnate cap without losing anything.
Get one achielles heel -res proc and put it into your gamblers cut. It increase your dps quiet alot since at maximum attack chain you use gamblers cut twice and before your high damage powers.
Stealth is a taste choice I guess but let me tell you I don't use stealth and just SS is enough to move between mobs without them noticing or manage to hit you. For kismets +6 acc you really don't need it much since your attacks drop defense of target anyway.
Switch focused accuracy (by getting conserve power you should have no problem to get physical perfection) with tactics it is better for endurance management and move gaussian set to tactics from build up. Mainly because proc checks every 10 sec while in toggle while it will only check when you can use BU which is usually 20 sec to 40 sec depending on your recharge.
These are all about my suggestions without making too much investement to purples or pvp IO's. But I at least suggest you to get scrapper ATO and 6 slot it one power than use catalyst to get it to purple all at once. -
to be honest end management is a worry for me too, none of the sets that had big recovery numbers really had the set bonuses i was looking for.
I definitely plan on the scrapper ATO going in and should have all 6 pieces shortly.
I was planning on the agility core also i just didnt add it in to the build.
I must have slipped on mids tbh i hadnt planned on the -kb io since PB has plenty of -kb inherent, same with lvl 40 ios i hadnt noticed mids had slotted them at 40.
I also plan on getting the 3% def io from gladiators armor through merits as the 1.5 bill is still a little pricy.
I have the merits on my main for the lotg recharge etc so those arent a worry.
i was planning on hitting the performance shifter end mods with io boosters.
I was considering dropping PB down to one recharge io and then boosting it to cap freeing a slot for ss as you suggested.
evasion i wanted to leave alone for the lotg 4 slot acc bonus.
i also planned on using boosters to bounce the end red IOs in the various sets to hit cap there as well. I hope it has enough of an effect, if not well its only inf and merits i can always respec it -
thats a good point, i really didnt take into account the ddr that sr has.
I went for as much regen as i could fit in with lotg and numinas sets where possible and was going to call it good enough.
ill look at the build and see where i could slot in some more health.
Im eventually going to stick the scrapper ato and a hecatomb in there as well. -
i wanted a new character for incarnate content so i worked this build in mids
i wanted to know if anyone had any criticisms beyond the obvious ones.
I went way over the softcap i know, i wanted some cushion since there's a lot of -def in
the trials. I also kept divine avalanche and elude for the same reasons.
i appreciate any thoughts

Quote:aye that does make sense now. talk about very nuanced and very convoluted system. im going to have to play around with mids some moreNot quite how it works.
You are limited to 5 of a given bonus with the same name.
So, you are technically limited to 5 sets of Doctored Wounds, but not for the reason you're thinking. You can slot as many sets of Doctored Wounds as your build has room for, but you will only get the benefit of the 5% recharge bonus 5 times.
And that bonus counts for any OTHER 5% bonus as well. So you could have 3 Doctored Wounds, 1 Obliteration, and 1 Crushing Impact and you will have reached your limit on 5% recharge bonuses, if you added a 6th 5% recharge bonus it would have no effect.
That applies to any set bonus, but it's the NAME of the bonus that matters, not the amount of it.
For example, Thunderstrike gives you a 2.5% ranged defense and 1.25% E/N defense bonus for 6 slotting it. You could have 5 of those in your build if you have enough powers that will take that set.
Now, you could then add 3 Cleaving Blow, which has a 1.25% E/N bonus in it and it would still count. That's because, even though you are getting 6 1.25% E/N defense bonuses, the bonuses from Thunderstrike and Cleaving Blow don't have the same name, and therefore don't count against each other's limits.
The Thunderstrike bonus is listed as "2.5% ranged, 1.25% E/N" while the Cleaving Blow is listed as "1.25% E/N, 0.63% ranged".
Even though the percentage is the same, the bonus is different, so the Cleaving Blow bonus won't count against the 5 you got from Thunderstrike.
Make sense? -
Quote:i guess ive misunderstood the rule of five for a long time so just to make sure i understandIn case I was unclear, it's OK to get 5 10% bonuses plus 5 7.5% bonuses plus 5 Luck of the Gambler 7.5% bonuses plus 5 5% bonuses and so on. So you could say that you're at the cap for 5% recharge bonuses, but you wouldn't say that you're at the cap for recharge itself, which can actually go much higher (you won't hit that cap solo no matter how hard you try, though I know you can approach it with some very, very extreme Super Reflexes builds).
And yes, perhaps another set in Stamina, or even regular old IOs. I am a fan of Performance Shifter most of the time, but it's not providing much of what you want here.
1 you are limted to 5 of a set type (doctored wounds)
2 you are limted to 5 of a particular bonus as well (10% regen)?
wow i had no idea it was so restrictive that changes everything sigh. -
Quote:ok i see what your saying, im at cap for hps, regen, and even recharge according to mids though all my sets are technically active.Recharge, recharge, more recharge, and defense (focus on smashing/lethal, then energy/negative). More than a few hit point bonuses are generally a waste because with Dull Pain, recharge, accolades and a few bonuses, you can have capped hit points any time you want. Regeneration bonuses are generally of little benefit because they are drops in a vast ocean of healing and regeneration. You also need to know about "the rule of 5", which is that a build can only benefit from five of any particular bonus (though with weird things like the Luck of the Gambler +7.5% not counting the same as other +7.5% recharge set bonuses, so you could theoretically have five of each, even though they're all +7.5%). If you click on "view active sets", the window on the right will show you all the bonuses that are literally doing your build no good due to having more than five of them. It's not strictly BAD to have a couple things in red if you've picked them up while chasing other things - they just won't do anything for you.
should i swap out the sets in sta for a perfermance shifter so im at least getting different set bonuses? -

i was thinking about offsetting fa however your correct i dont really need to mule in a miracle i suppose i could put the extra slot on stealth and mule in two more lotg for some more regen
-
one of the things ive been thinking of doing is cutting one slot on hasten and weave putting one on fsc and the other on pysical perfection so i can mule in a miracle + recovery and start working on the pbaoe purple set.
-
thanks your build gave some ideas,
-
I just dont know if a regen scrapper is really the best choice anymore.
I ran tinmage yesterday and ended up as veng bait quite often from
being single/double shotted before i could click a button.
any thoughts on what i can do to increase survivability without spending 3 billion inf i dont have?
