But the other games rely upon end-game content *because there's only a grind from 1 to cap* for those games.
THIS game is not like those. There is content from level one onwards. If you blow past it, that's YOUR loss *general you* and not the devs fault. -
That doesn't make them better players. It just means there are more people to kick off teams and 1-star in notes. Yes, they've been around.
Most of those have left the game, slowly but surely, and been replaced by the same type of people, only different individuals.
Waaaay back, way back, like December of 04, I was in Skyway playing solo on my defender (emp/dark). This guy sends me a tell.
/him - you're doing it wrong.
/me - .... what? I'm doing fine, soloing, thanks.
/him - you're doing it wrong. I have 3 50s ** why is it always 3 fifties?** and you're not doing it right. LET ME SHOW YOU.
/me - um, I'm doing just fine on my own thanks, b'bye, '/ignore'
They have been in the game forever. It doesn't make them any less stupid. -
People were told what the MA was supposed to be used for, and what it was NOT supposed to be used for. Just because you own a chainsaw doesn't mean you're supposed to hack people up with it. It came with rules, the rules were broken, whining ensued, but it doesn't make the rules any less valid, nor the rule-breakers any less guilty.
Most of us CAN use the system by the rules. WHY CAN'T THEY? -

the near-total lack of end-game content after 5 years is a perfectly legitimate gripe to make. "re-roll for the 800th time" is not an acceptable answer to people sitting at the level cap wondering why there's nothing to do.

Funny, seems to have worked for over 100 thousand people for 5 years now. They must be doing SOMETHING right... -

i'm of the opinion that this falls into the former category since every warning was either out of the way or accompanied by other text that no one really wanted to read
[/ QUOTE ]
"No one really wanted to read".... That's patently false, I read them - am I no one? Whenever the eula changes, I re-read it. To do otherwise is just stupid. Ignorance of the rules is not protection from the consequences of breaking them. Period. -

Your example would be more accurate by asking what if a baseball team manager focused all on pitching rather than hitting? Or a card player focused solely on bluffing rather than reading the cards. Both things are parts of the game. But if you give all the attention to one, the game stops being fun.
You aren't the first to herald the RP in MMORPG. Yet you as well are ignoring the G part of it. Maybe with a little more G we would get some more M, as in Massive.
[/ QUOTE ]
But you're still wrong.
If you want to farm a normal mission, go do it. Don't whine about role-players (lol) being the focus of an all action game. Because this game IS all action. The only RP aspect has been provided BY the players, not the devs.
And yes, of course the devs have played without their 'dev tricks' Why would you assume otherwise?
Man, I wish I'd gotten up earlier when my cat was throwing up, so I could have joined this discussion at the begining. I need some activity today... -
I have to, unfortunately, because I have food allergies and not many stores carry the bread I need. If only the food 4 less store *right across the street* from me would carry other things than their corporate hq tells them to.
Or, if only the Henry's up the street would consistantly carry the bread I need. It's always sold out, they know they need more but they never order enough. boo. It's why i only try shopping one day a week, because that's a hella day to wander the town looking for foods.
-
Wow, I thought they'd fixed all those holes long, long ago. I wandered around the background in Beta shortly before they fixed them the first time. I've only gotten stuck in them though, not actually managed to get through them either way.

yea because there was no such thing as bad pugs or bad players before i14
[/ QUOTE ]
There were plenty.
However, the level of inanity AND the concentration of them, is much stronger now. -
No, because it's also assumed, Munki, that you would be able to form your question in a reasonably intelligent manner.
Or, far more likely, you'd *come here* and find out on the Wiki before asking at all. -

Yeah, we should make fun of them, throw stones, and then kick them from the team so they stop playing CoH!!!!!1111ONE!
[/ QUOTE ]
Aside from what PK and Forbin said...
They aren't going to leave COH because they get kicked from a team. They are going to leave COH because the mindset that requires them to jet to 50 and do nothing but farming generally means they've got nothing else to do and get bored much more quickly than the typical COH player.
Remember that they are NOT typical COH players. Some may be older players who've come back, but only wanted a little taste - they're going to come and go. Some are people who got a trial from somewhere, have played other MMOs and have the "other mmo mindset" and don't know better, get frustrated by the game itself 'failing' to meet their standards, and leave to head back to those "other" games. And some appear to be hyperactive teenagers with money to burn, who will go through *any* game at a rocket pace because *that's what they do*.
In no way are most of those people *typical* of COH players. -
The chat box emote list is woefully out of date and doesn't include the other non-costume emotes
they really do need to update that list.

There are Wal-Marts that have meat departments? Why does the very idea of that make me vaguely queasy?

I was so gonna say, "they have a meat department?!" -

Awwwww!
You can have SOME of my lewt, if you can get the cat fur off of it. And trust me, that would NOT be an easy task.

I'm guessing that was a quick reply? -
... Walmart's "improvements" would have to come at a huge change to their entire management and hiring/promotion strategy. There's one across the street from me. I have set foot in it 3 times, and none of those times did they have what I wanted at a better price than the target up the street. And no, none of those times did I *buy* anything there. It makes me feel dirty.
Now, to be fair, when I went on vacation several years ago to Baton Rouge, the walmart there was *very* nice, largely I think because they weren't trying to undercut every other store in the area (... very likely because they'd already all gone out of business). -
IIIiiiii remember the chanting at the end of a Hami raid.

B'BOUM! -
Unless you know, you go through Pocket D. Because it's got a dimension door to Faultline too.
I want to say that only Dark Astoria doesn't have more than one conventional (non teleport-based) entrance, since Boomtown and many other zones have - if you're willing to dare it - access through the Sewers. Croatoa is the other, but it's a more habited zone and not a hazard zone. (I guess Eden and the Hive, and Crey's since they closed the RWZ door between it...) -
*OOOOOOF* I'm.... still... under here...

Lol what you should have done is immediately log back on to your oldest toon, and give them a hard time with it. -
You are searching during a time when a lot of people are in Atlas doing AE missions.
See the other, other, and other threads out there about this very same subject. Just because it's virtue doesn't mean people want to do faultline...
It IS a great zone. And now, if we could just pry people away from the AE long enough, they'd have fun in it too
