Hey that wasn't there when I replied!
Happy birthday! -
No, I mean the character. I put everything into the zombies, and her healing. I had formerly put the leadership pool on her but that stank and drained end like crazy, so I gave that up. I suspect with more *practice* she'd be a very workable character, but meh, I'm just not always into summoning Twitterpated, Diddlysquat, Boogiedeboogie and the rest...
-
Well the thing is I was in the COV beta and I chose a dark/necro mm, and ... when I made her on live, I've since never gotten her past level 21. I did respec her into a fully defensive mode, but ... bleah. She is on the table for side switching if it's going to be possible, because I just ... don't like playing redside either. Too dark.
-
I used to be terrified of playing melee. I was absolutely HORRIBLE at it.
Played up my defender and then a controller to 50 and decided okay, time to work up to this. So I played a fire/fire tank, and LOVED HIM. So with that behind me, I can pretty much pick up most AT's now.
Powersets... yeah, not so much. I don't use pets except for the fly trap in my Plant troller's set, I just can't stand how their AI always screws things up. Little aggromagnets. And thus, I also have some issues with mastermind play, it's way over my head.
Given the choice between playing 'yet another controller' and something different, I still kinda lean toward a troller though. I have only one Scrapper above 30, and a total of maybe 6 of them at all, so I know I haven't really experienced a variety of melee play. But I *am* very much enjoying the db/wp scrapper I have, she's almost 39. -

I suggest an open letter about it.

*snerk*
But we've gotta let yours lie low, so it'll be the last one Ocho sees! -
Yeah if the bottom portion were cut off and it could be made more square, it wouldn't look goofy like that. Cut the doctor's elbow off. CUT IT OFF!
-
Hehehe.
Nice!
I'd use energy, in some way, because it's just fun lol. But, if you take a melee blade set, you could also make an interesting looking weapon.
Well, what you might do is have a series of costumes as you progress, making them more and more 'human' but with obvious remnants of the circut pattern. So, add a face plate and maybe gloves, but keep the pattern; then change the body to more normal wear, make the pattern more subtle, etc.
I've done a similar thing with my Portal-fan character ARRISA, if I can put together a quickie I'll show you with images.
Edit: here's ARRISA in her 4 charming modes (though 3 is gone, replaced by something slightly more sinister and scary - it's her 'turret' costume here). She's a psy/mind blaster. -
I dunno, I'm almost sarcasmed out tonight. It's been a long day, you know?

The was kinda my point...

Sorry, missed the sarcasm. -
I've tried using my laptop and wireless to get on my much bigger 34 (or 36? I dunno, bigger) widescreen and the problem with it is that it does NOT recognize "native screen resolution" that way. It defaults to some crapola, and didn't look good at all.
Now, I'm SURE that there is a way to do it better, and I might be misremembering my process. My friend had his computer hooked up to his projection system... 89" of wall-sized glory. -

I have been playing for a year now and worked really hard and still do not have a 50

I just finished soloing a toon to 50 in about 5 months by playing, on average, 5-7 hours a week. All i did was run story arcs. The XP rewards, specially with XP smoothing, are MORE than enough.
If 'Farming' was against the rules, then enemies shouldnt spawn in groups of more that 2. Ever. Since i kill Romans on the wall in Cimerora over and over and over again, does that mean i should have my account suspended for being a farmer?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, obviously not, because *farming itself is not the issue*.
*EXPLOITING* things and repeatedly farming those things, IS the issue. Please understand the terms.
Most people I know can put a new toon to 50 in around 2-3 months without hassle, less if they always team, longer if they always solo. It took 19 months for me to get my first 50, solo, and just about that for my 2nd. I still don't team, and I don't farm because it's *even too boring and repetitive for me*, and I *like* repetitive things.
Exploits however, ARE the problem. -
I have to keep blowing the cat fur out from the laser in my mouse...
I miss my 8 button mouse. It died. 4 buttons are not enough.

It's a holiday weekend.
It's a tough break - does he have the correct email address on his nc account? Is he making sure to put the right password in, since the NC account and the GAME account are often different? -

Just a thought, since I no almost nothing about the magic computer boxes, but could it be an adult content warning of some kind?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope.
The deviantart websites adult filter basically works by not allowing any logged-off person to view the image if it's correctly tagged as adult, along with those who ARE logged in but aren't old enough to view.
They do NOT have any outside buggy popups, and any good ad-filter (such as adblocker plus I'm using on ff3) will simply remove ALL their ads, banners, and the like.
Hell ABP once tried to block the entire site of Google if I'd clicked it wrong lol.
I'd definitely still use firefox with an ad blocker, don't bother with mcaffee, and use other sourced detection systems as they've been pretty well proven to work and not give their own whopping problems.
Though on Vista... lol, dunno, that's all foreign territory to me. -
I have mine on a 23", and I hate going back to another screen size. I'm running my normal desktop and COH on 1680x1050 I think.
It makes a HUGE difference. Just make sure you've got a video card that can run those sizes. -
Indeed. While the devs don't care for farming as used in normal game play, the *exploitable* farming done elsewhere has always been the issue that they've dealt with. The two words, farming and exploit, are NOT interchangeable for definitions here.

Yes, any boxed set that you haven't already applied to your account will give you the time plus whatever extra goodies you don't already have that come with it. You can, however, only put the boxed ones (gve, architect, dvd and special editions) onto that account once.
-
Totally - every time I have a great character leveling up, BAM they introduce something new that I've already outleveled lol! So...
ALTS!It's a never ending cycle of alts and new material.
Plus, by the time you get around to 50 after having *concentrated* on it (and I've done that, honest I have lol) you'll have forgotten some of the stuff in the early and mid-game already anyway.
Sure, I've done the early level missions a lot. But, I haven't done Tech or Mutant in a long while, mostly magic and recently science and natural again after a VERY long time.
It's refreshing, fun. Plus, costumes. -
I think for someone who might have come into the game within the last 3 months, it may seem like "is this all there is?" but... Seriously. 3 months isn't enough time to really 'explore' the game, let alone really become familiar with its background information.
One thing I remember that doesn't really happen any more, is "stability fixes". Old-timers may remember when there was a bug patch almost every other week, which habitually included something mysterious called a "stability fix". Don't know what it was, but... sometimes I wish they'd bring it back lol.
The fact that there aren't myriad weekly patches (with the exception of this last couple weeks, obviously, since those are not "fixes" but "changes" to the game) tells me more that the game is ridiculously stable, has fewer bugs that are obvious, and is basically chugging along perfectly well without help.
I would rather *reward* that work and effort, rather than remove from it by snubbing the devs and their payment. -
For me, there's been only one character I've made that I did take more than one of the appropriately elemented epics on. Otherwise they haven't been really suitable to my needs, which is kind of a shame. I do hope for some epic proliferation for that reason, but balancing is more important.

Congratulations on finding a way to avoid using the word "farm" in the topic title.

congratulations on making us roleplayers look like schadenfruede addled jerks.

Nah, they're just posting their twisted anger-addled version of rpers. -
Yeah the techs have to be taken out too, and if you're not paying attention you lose that tower they fix up.
However, the flier thing sounds like a very bad bug. -
Yeah but you should then also be able to continue enjoying those games longer than that.
And why are you playing ds games at work, eh? EH!?
