Liquefy is utter, utter [censored]. Just don't take it. The only good thing about it is that the noise bugs the hell out of my team so I can hear them saying "Goddammit Xanthus, don't use that power!" over Teamspeak.

Replace it with Sonic Cage (even if that is very late) and use the 3 slots with 3 acc 3 recharge. The 3 recharge makes it basically perma (about enough time for your opponent to fire off one attack/power) and it can really annoy people in PvP as well.

I would have done a few things differently as well, but you're a controller so you won't have the slots to spare.

If you're going to PvP, MaX's builds really aren't the best to follow. They're damn good PvE builds, but you need to be WAY more min/maxed for PvP.

I dont't think you get the choice whether or not to place the IoP. I'm fairly sure that you can't run the trial without having a raidable base, and the IoP just appears in the vault room when you're finished.

There are two types of bases:

1) The cheap-and-cheerful raid-ready base. This base is built with the cheapest items, on the second largest plot. The Paragon Defenders have one of these

2) The OH-MY-GOD-PRESTIGE base. This base has typically OD'd on the custom items, and is full of rare stuff like auto-docs, turbine generators and advanced turrets.

I would suggest that if you have a base like in #2, you don't do the whole IoP thing. If you're like us and you have a #1 base, then it should be fine. Don't forget that you get a 5mil prestige bonus just for finishing the trial. Our base cost us around that, but that was including the plot upgrade which cannot be destroyed.

My views on base raid etiquette are thus: If I can target it, it's going to get broken.

understand what others say tho, but on defiant we do team in pvp, mainly dependant on what each side has going for it, i.e. the other day was tons of villains staring at us outside hero hospital xD Btw loving fights near bases, not the mobs close by tho, just that bit

Wasn't so much referring to you trying to solo on your storm defender or whatever, more that the villains actually support each other (to a degree) rather than having teams of 8 villains who just share bounty/rep for kills.

Why not PvP? Sure it has few bad sides like BFR and lack of tactics, but overall it does fine in casual PvP.

Try wandering around your Family mission as your Brute, smashing and the like, on the highest difficulty (relentless or whoever ) only to find 7 or 8 people randomly spamming on broadcast saying how dark it is in your mission. You think "Thats funny" then 1 of these strange heroes types "try /stuck". All of a sudden this lone brute is surrounded by all these PvP build heroes, including blappers, stormies, /kin and /rad trollers. "Oh, dear." instantly ganked Brute in its own mission (in St Martial no less) by some randomly spawned heroes who were trying to have an arena fight.

Well, if you create an SG on test you get 36mil prestige to play around with so having a couple of base raids isn't out of the question either. It just takes a while to set up.
