    Title: Celebrity Kidnapping
    Arc ID: 1388
    Creator’s Global Name: @PW
    Mission Count: 3

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have actually played both of yours before and picked the one it has been the longest since I last played it since I know you make updates often.

Lowdown – Does the kidnapping of a young pseudo celebrity sound like an arc idea ripe for humor? You bet it does! This arc is very well executed and contains humor in just about every aspect it could be inserted into. I especially like how Paris modified her prison garb to look totally hot.

Funny Level – Humorous to Very Humorous

    Fun Level - HUUUUUUGGGGGEEEE

Let’s up it to 11! – The paparazzi look way, way too overdressed. I don't think you need the wall breaking "PL me" comment. Maybe use "Can I be like your partner or something?"

Overall Rating – I really liked this humorous, fast, fun arc and you will be happy you played it.

The reason the other leaders are not in the Injustice Legion as they should be is the current limitation of MA.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks to I15 everyone that belongs in the Injustice Legion is now there.

This arc, for some reason, is the only one of my arcs that got a significant amount of space back. In fact it went from 99.94 to around 75%! So, I plan on reworking it a bit in the next week or so and will post the updates once I am done.

    MA Mondays!

I am not sure if this is running tonight with all the I15 hub-bub, but I can't make it because it is my 7th anniversary and hubby is taking me out to dinner.

  6. You may have missed this which is from Blappy's origin:

"Beloved by millions of kids and adults alike Blappy hates everyone. Her problem and constant irritation is that no matter how rotten she is or no matter what she does, people still think that she is adorable. Boy does that make her angry! Her goal is to have everyone see her for what she is, a low down, mean, cruel, uncaring SOB! Now that would make her happy!"

Does that help and shed some light on Bright Angel's frustration/motivation?

@Beanstalk1 : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Fun arc. Good little story, fun to play, custom bad guys made me smile, what ya want in a comedic arc Good work.

@Sumerian : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Couldn't agree more! Rock on! Enjoyed your arc. Well written story, not too complex. Customs were well done. Combinations of powers proved to be effective.

@FemFury: Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Nice comedy arc. Short at 2 missions, but that makes a good quick time, without beating concept to death. Neat custom mob ideas, and good use of dialogue, including song lyric references. Thanks for writing this.

@Chud Phibes : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Those disco costumes are great, and I loved disco granny

@BinkDeBook : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Okay Death to Disco was an Awesome Arc! I loved the Custom Chars and the Text. The End Boss's Info box was great!!!! Well Done! 5 Stars there.

@Armory1 : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Saw this arc mentioned on the boards...as an original disco hater I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved the custom baddies, the dialogue, and the plot. Too bad they don't have any open field or stadium maps, but that doesn't count against you. Five big stars, I had a good time.

@Nylonus : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Nice fun arc. Loved the custom group. But come on, is Donna Summer's "MacArthur Park" really all that bad? . . .Someone left my cake out in the rain. I don't think that I can take it, 'cause it too so long to bake it.

@Cobalt Sixty : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: The mission was fun, but the 'find Dr. Disco Fever' might be better as a separate mission.

@Hamster: Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: Very awesome.

@Zafft : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: nicely constructed and a fun flashback to 70s.

@Baler : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: I enjoyed the heck out of your story, especially the last mission. But I was also disappointed by the lack of a Disco Duck.

@cobie : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: nice custom group. they all had a very good look to them and great names/info text. the powers, however, weren't always relevant to them but that's trivial. you have a typo in the npc dialogue: one of them says "burn baby burn" or something like that. instead of periods, you used commas for the ellipsis. Also, there should have been a fire tank/scrapper named disco inferno. =P

@Alari Azure : Feedback on Architect Mission Death to Disco!: OK, After all the hoopla on the forum, I had to finally do this arc. It brought back a few memories, some good, some bad. lol It was a lot of fun. Very well done. The only thing that made the Jimmy Carter char almost look like him was the fakey smile, tho. lol Good job on a fun arc. (Telstar)

    Title: Destroy Bad Grammar
    ARC #235007
    Global: @Ashcraft
    Length: 1 mission
Notes: the game went nazi on me using the name Grammar Nazi so just pretend Grammar Nazl is the same thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lowdown – This arc features a villain group that consists of all the various types of bad grammar and game related writing mishaps (MisTell is an example of that type). The bios for all of these guys range from amusing to very humorous and for me the exclamation guy was the best. I played this one shot arc on difficulty 1 and I was glad I did. There are several bosses and a final EB.

    Funny Level – Humorous

Fun Level - A fast fun ride, definitely E ticket

Let’s up it to 11! – The two big things that could use more humor is the contact and the captive. It may even be funny to have the captive be an ally vs the final big bad.

Overall Rating – If you like short, fun missions, this is one for you. Be sure to read all the bios!

Technical: The custom mob is tough, especially the lieutenants with rage. As a squishy, they really hurt me once they popped rage and got that 80% damage buff. The boss, Copy Cat, was the same way. I might be wrong, but I think you gave it build up. That's a real pain. Other than those two, the custom mob was good though. Maybe just consider adding another lieutenant so the spawning is more diverse.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Thanks for the nice review.

None of the Lts. have rage and Copy Cat does not have build up.

Lowdown – Do you remember the old What If comics with titles like "What if Spiderman joined the FF?" or "What if Captain America was never frozen?". Well imagine those written from a villain's twisted perspective and you have a great idea ripe for humor. This arc is what I would call a concept piece and it is nicely executed with varying degrees of humor throughout.

Funny Level – Amusing to Humorous to Very Humorous

Fun Level - A day at the carnival

Let’s up it to 11! – I could do without the sexist jokes in the one mission and would love more and different descriptions in the customs (especially the last mission's group)

Overall Rating – A nice concept that was well done, humorous and held my interest throughout. A definite "must play" when it hits live.

  12. Thanks for the great detailed review Cap! I guess it is true, commas are more of a weakness than numbers to me It always amazes me when people find these sorts of errors and typos on arcs with 300 plus plays since the first 300 missed them (as did I).

I actually have spoken with Lich-King and he was thinking of changing the name of his arc (since mine was published first).

As a side note, I got such positive feedback on Dr. Disco Fever I actually decided to have him step out of MA and into the "real" world. He currently resides on Virtue and has yet to convince anyone to help him with his cause.

    Thanks again for the review!

  14. Thanks much for the review.

The reason the other leaders are not in the Injustice Legion as they should be is the current limitation of MA. If I put them all in the IL Bright Angel or anyone could show up in mish two if a larger group played the arc which would ruin the story. This can be fixed, I think, in I15.

I am happy you were able to fully appreciate and understand the story. The story seems to go over some people's heads or maybe they just don't connect the dots with the clues, but I hate spoon feeding.

    Title: Fine Literature
    Arc ID: 136522
    Creator’s Global Name: @Elisenda
    Mission Count: 2

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lowdown – If you are expecting lots of literary references with a name like this one has you would not be disappointed. The author is clearly well read and has a true love for literature. Don't be surprised if you run into Charles Keating or William Shakespeare or any other famous author types.

Through out the arc there are little humor bits here and there, but the real funny comes in the glowies in mission two. There is a problem, though easily fixed, in that the information about the glowies is given through the micro text on the progress bar.

Be warned, there are a few "give mes" in the story, but this is a humor arc after all.

Funny Level – Humorous to Very Humorous

Fun Level - A nice little romp

Let’s up it to 11! – Add clues to those glowies....now! Also, maybe add some interrupt text like "Too hard to read? I know!" The minions need a little toning down and the boss could stand to loose IH.

Overall Rating – A worthy arc you will especially enjoy is you are a fan of classic literature.

Name: Sings like an Angel while the Devil Plays along
    Global Name Same as above
    Mission Count: 1
Notes: Big Bubba and his brother kidnap Country singer Jessi Blaze hoping to force her to sign a long term contract. AV again spawns as an EB on heroic (solo)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lowdown – An evil record company exec is trying to force a singer to sign a, I assume bad, recording contract and you need to stop him. His office complex is filled with his family all who have jobs at the company (nepotism at it's best!). The custom characters all have bios and some are pretty funny. The dialog is mostly amusing. The story and writing in the arc make sense and it is a reasonable funny concept.

    Funny Level – Amusing

Fun Level - It's one mish, so fast and there is enough to hold your interest.

Let’s up it to 11! – Many of the custom's bios are great, but some can use more humor, add some funny clues to the glowies, maybe a patrol or two with some dialog.

Overall Rating – For a one shot arc it has enough in it for you to give it play or two.

thank you, PW, that is probably the most useful review i have recieved.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I concur, PW's review is probably the best you are going to get detail wise. Author's may not agree with all of her suggestions, but they will find some good nuggets to work off of. Her review helped me with my Death to Disco! arc and it was definitely improved after her review a couple months back.

    Title:Halloween Night
    Arc ID: 227436
    Creator’s Global Name:BinkDeBook
    Mission Count: 1
    Synopsis:
On a dark and stormy Halloween night, you decided to knock on the door of that scary house down the street. How were you to know that a real witch lived there, and wouldn't be happy with you bothering her. Oh well, maybe some good candy will come of this.
Notes: Lots of Trick and Treat items (Glowies). The Glowies have fun text for when you click on them, get interrupted, etc. As do the mobs that are wandering about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lowdown – This Halloween based one mission arc is basically a trick or treat gone wrong. The contact is awesome looking and a variety of new what I I like to call "sexy witches" are added to the mix of standards you would expect at Halloween. The dialog and text are amusing, but some humor opportunities were missed. Taking place on a large map, that though appropriate, it makes finding the needed glowies a bit of a chore.

    Funny Level – Amusing

Fun Level - Pretty fun, but searching for that last glowie can drain some of that away.

Let’s up it to 11! – Add some funny clues when you find things. Rather than a straight glowie hunt maybe add in a boss. Some lost trick or treaters would provide another place to inject humor.

Overall Rating – For a quick little amusing arc it is worth a play and since I was the first to play it I am betting it will only get better with time and tweaks.

    WN
  22. [ QUOTE ]
You could fix this now by including a faction or mob that only spawns at 45+, or by flooring the mission at level 45 in i15. If you intend to preserve the current level range the Snakes have to go.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am surprised this has never been an issue since I have close to 100 plays on live and a bunch on test. In any case, I reluctantly changed it to another oddball faction and rewrote the dialog.

Hey WN, get back to me when you take the Snake patrols out of mission 2, alright? I've got level 46 assassins camping the door now, and I'm level 39.

    Title: Plan Bee
    Arc ID: 102224
    Creator’s Global Name: @ObsidianDevil
    Mission Count: 1
Notes – This arc contains some really tough fights (2EB's, 2AV's). There is help provided but it was designed as comedy-challange-"task force in a single mission".

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lowdown – The author of this arc describes it as a comedy-challenge arc and that description is pretty accurate overall. The arc features, and this should be no surprise, bees. The customs are all pretty cute and the dialog of the various bosses is humorous. The challenge aspect will be tough for some builds, but with the humor and a few clever clues you won't mind it too much.

Funny Level – Not exactly knee slapping funny, but cute and humorous.

    Fun Level - Buzz worthy

Let’s up it to 11! – Don't tell me to buzz off just because I am harshing your buzz a little, but I think there is room for more funny (especially in the bios).

Overall Rating – A fun and challenging short arc worth a play or two.

    Title: ParaCon
    Arc ID: 1684
    Mission Count: 1

    [/ QUOTE ]

Lowdown – The humor from this arc is almost all from the custom hostages you rescue and their dialog. A big opportunity to inject more humor is missed because all the hostages have similar bios. You are provided with a helper, but since you are only fighting Clockwork they are not really needed.

    Funny Level – Amusing

Fun Level - It's fast and easy

Let’s up it to 11! – Bios for the peeps you rescue, some additional goal like a boss would be nice even if you had to remove a hostage or two.

Overall Rating – For a one mission arc it is worth a play, but I really feel there is a lot of room still for more humor.

    WN
