'Cause.... once you give them your money, it's now their money and they can do with it what they want?

It actually comes ON the disc, but if you don't want to pull that out.. here you go.

So...you'd rather be stuck up than give some easy directions? I'm sure you're doing something important in Pocket D after all...
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd rather people put forth the minimal amount of effort required to learn such a basic aspect of the interface themselves.
[/ QUOTE ]
is it so hard to tell them to open their map? it's not like you have to hold their hand, but I guess it's cause I see no real problem w/ helping people regardless...
[/ QUOTE ]
Give a man a fish....
You "just" tell them how to get out, the original problem of their ignorance and laziness remains, you've only treated the symptoms.
The best way to prevent FUTURE problems rather than being an enabler would be to guide them to the MANUAL rather than the door. The manual consisting of the actual manual, the in-game help menu selection, the Help channel and the forums. -
With all the anger that was shown, I'm surprised it's still here. Yay?
-
It'll be entertaining to see what happens to this in the morning, if there's anything left to see then.
-
The one that they gave themselves that you quoted?

but you may not create a petition for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, Petition: A thread created for people to "sign", causing bumping to keep the thread at the top of the forums.
Nothing to sign here, no request to "bump" anything, hence no petition. I don't even request that the people link back to THIS thread, just to an image. Heck, if anything, the only bumping around here are you and me having this conversation, so thank you. -

Riiight ... Screw the dictionary.
[/ QUOTE ]
Kinky!
There is already a precedent set for NCSoft using its own terms beyond the terms found in the dictionary:
Farm, as just one example. -
You probably shouldn't try to use outside definitions when the moderators have already created and explained their OWN definition. I'm pretty sure that they'll use their own definition over the one that you pull from another source.
Why so much hate against "No"? I don't get it... -
Whoever one-starred the thread is saying No to the idea, which means...
...he/she is WITH US! Yay!
Now if only I could track down the jerk who 5 starred us... -
Hmm... perhaps I should take a few of those out...
There you go, I took out like half of them.
And why not post again in the same thread? Two reasons:
<ul type="square">[*]Because I'm a special and unique snowflake, and[*]Because then you couldn't have an entertaining REVOLUTION![/list]
Like, for example *looks at the sig above me* A big red ball, perhaps? -

Have you put it in the costume request thread (you know, that place where you're supposed to do things like this) already?

Petition:
[ QUOTE ]
This is bumping in disguise
[/ QUOTE ]
So where's the thread bumping in using signatures? The whole point against petitions is to prevent thread bumping. The whole point of the rules is to prevent forum chaos. Adding a single link into your signature will NOT cause forum chaos. -
It is not a "lobby". From the rules:
[ QUOTE ]
Do not create threads/posts to petition or Lobby for game features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a petition for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed. Lobbying is continually bringing up the same topic repeatedly in numerous different threads or as an off-topic post in official threads to get developer attention. This form of posting is not permitted.
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as I don't engage in bumping this thread or bring up the topic in other threads, it's allowed. And signatures don't count as "bringing it up in other threads" because if it did, most of our signatures would have to be bare to follow the rule.
And there is no petition here either, I don't expect anyone to "sign" this thread. Just add something to their sig. -
My original inspiration for having the symbol added was my character that was Egon from the Ghostbuster's Son, who inherited "Ghost zapping gloves" (the giant cyborg gloves) after Egon died. To my dismay, there was no NO symbol!
And I don't see why. It's a VERY common, international system that is free, open to the public, and most importantly VERY simple and iconic. I really see no reason for it to NOT be there. -

A discount on the next City Scoop ?
[/ QUOTE ]
So.... a discount on 0? I'd be down for that. -
Or more annoying. I think of this more like benevolent protesting. With a small link in your signature, it's not really interfering with the forum's activities.
-
So I'm looking around for a cheese chest symbol for my new character the "Cheddar Monk" (inspired by Darths and Droids, look it up, it's hilarious
) when I'm reminded of something that I noticed over a year ago.
We have available to us dozens if not hundreds of chest symbol options, we have every letter , every number , every GREEK letter, [u]FOURTEEN types of "Star"s.... [u]
.... but where's the simple No Symbol? It seems like an ovious and approopriate choice; I noticed this huge flaw over a year ago and requested it in the appropriate thread, but nothing happened!
So, I am now beginning a campaign, the "Say 'YES' to NO!" Campaign!
We will ask, beg and plead for Sexy Jay to add the simple International No Symbol to the "City of" chest detail options.
If you would like to join our campaign, simply add this image to your signature as a link (tinyURL included for your convenience - http://tinyurl.com/yestono ), using for the text "Say YES to NO, Sexy Jay!". If you're not sure how much space you have left in your signature, you could always use FOE to determine it.
If you are against us, simply do nothing, because if you try to say No to us, you will in fact be SUPPORTING us! That's right!
So, PLEASE, join me in my campaign to Say YES to NO!
Together, we can change the WORLD....
...of this game.
This post made FABULOUS with CoH FOE![/b] -

Human beings deserve love the least; sad but true. 98% of them, anyways.

My logic is that the important powers are probably going to do more for me and my team than generic set bonuses will, so I care more about the actual enhancement values than I do set bonuses.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's how I play. And I also stick to concentrating on what I'm GOOD at, because of the archetype modifiers. If I'm playing a Defender, sure I'll slot enough blasts to do my fair share, but I really won't make an offender. If I started to feel too offenderish, I'd look over on Blaster side and see if there are any similar sets that would work better and do damage better, for example. -

3. Search. If you want to link to a specific post in a thread, such as your original post, make sure your link looks like:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...umber=13634846
See the "&number=" part? Compare that to the number RIGHT under your thread title - the number on this reply will be different. That will take you to the specific post.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I've never had any luck with that, it seems unreliable and only tends to show the PAGE. What I HAVE had luck with is the following:
https://boards.cityofheroes.com/show...ue#PostYYYYYYY
Where the Xs are the Original Poster's post number that started the whole thread, and the Ys are the post number of the post you actually want to SEE. It'll take you right to it, every time. -
[ QUOTE ]
I am not the best at forum-ese so I dont have the best understainding of all the abbreviations used here.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are actually a few guides for in AND out of game abbreviations. Look in this section of the Guide to Guides, under "UNDERSTANDING ONE ANOTHER".
[ QUOTE ]
Another unrelated question is it considered bad if you make multiple threads if you have multiple unrelated questions, or should you post them all in one long post that is a solid wall of text.
[/ QUOTE ]
As long as it's in moderation, like just a couple questions a day, there's no problem with doing multiple threads. If you're going at ask a LOT of questions, then it might be best to post them all in the same thread.
[ QUOTE ]
A third question is how do you add a link to a specific post of someone elses that you want in your sig?
[/ QUOTE ]
The best way I've found is to click on their name, to bring up their profile, then there is a link on the bottom of their profile that says "Show all user's posts". Click that and then scan for the one that you want, then copy the url. If the URL is too long to fit in your signature, you can always paste the URL into TinyURL to save space. -
Uhh.... wut? Aren't they all the same price of 50 influence?
