  1. Sure, you can do this with any toon that has a good variety of Set options. Fire/Elec has Ranged, AoE, Melee, PBAoE, EndMod, Sniper, and more.
  2. The great thing about the Invention System is the variety of slotting options now available to us. No longer is there really a single best way to build your toon. You can choose to focus on those aspects that seem most important to you.

The following build guide is not intended to be viewed as the 'most optimal' build that everyone should aspire to, but rather as an example of how one can use Invention Origin Enhancements, Hamidon Origin Enhancements, and Accolades to make a build very powerful while simultaneously retaining some features that most Min-Maxers would consider part of a 'concept' build.

Before the Invention System was released Wavicle had a build using about 40 HOs and about 25 SOs. The build was effective and fun, and focused on two 'conceptual' features: great Range and good speed Hovering and Sprinting.

The following build uses about 40 IOs and 20 HOs and retains almost everything from the HO build while also adding many Invention Set Bonuses and improving upon the HO slotting for several of the powers.

The standout features of this build are:

*Capped Hit Points - 1606.3, the Blaster Cap. If I team with a /Cold Corruptor in the Rikti War Zone, she can put Frostworks on someone else, because it doesn't do anything for me.

*Impressive Regeneration - Including Health, Global Effects and Set Bonuses Wavicle has 292% Regeneration, she Regenerates 19.5 Hit Points per second.

*Better than Pre-ED Damage and Accuracy - IO Slotting, Set Bonuses, Assault, and Defiance bring Wavicle's damage to +160% without Aim or Build Up. This surpasses the slotting she had in Issue 4 with two accuracy and four damage SOs.

*Exceptional Range - Wavicle's Range is dramatically increased using both the Boost Range power and additional slotting for Power Burst, Energy Torrent, Sniper Blast, Recall Friend and Teleport. While the usefulness of such high range shouldn't be underestimated, the fun factor is a major part of this aspect of the build as well.

Several other Set Bonuses and Global Effects add to this impressive package.

So to reiterate before I show the build itself, this is not meant as a guide to be adhered to religiously. I have found that this build has no problems with either endurance (she never runs out of end, even fighting Hamidon's Mitochondria Electrolytes, except when Force of Nature crashes or right after using Nova, and then she hits Conserve Power, eats a Blue Inspiration, and continues blasting while her endurance gradually fills up) or recharge (Total Focus permanently stuns level 52 and some level 53 bosses, easily with the use of Power Boost). However, many people like recharge and endurance recovery bonuses more than I do, and there are several easy ways to alter this build in order to have even more recharge and endurance. Other alternatives include use of Procs like Chance for Build Up or Chance for Hold, or additional Status Resistance Globals and Set Bonuses.

I call this the Willpower Blaster build because the high hit points and regeneration, coupled with Force Mastery powers, are similar, in my mind, to having High Pain Tolerance, Fast Healing, Indomitable Will and Heightened Senses. Clearly Willpower is significantly more Psi focused, but the analogy fits, in my mind.

One quick note, this is a respec build and as such I've removed the slot levels since they do not reflect when each power would have been slotted while originally levelling up.

Finally, I need to thank my friend passengerpigeon who helped me greatly in designing this build.

    So, without further ado:

  3. Interesting train of thought.

This would lead me to think Epics for Villains might be more likely to involve the Circle of Thorns, Mu, and/or Coralax.

I really did want a Form-Shifting AT for Villainside tho.
  4. oh, for crying out loud, are you completely unable to tell a joke when you see one?

for your information I have many friends and relatives from Texas, and I've visited the place and I think it's swell

I don't hold the president against them at all

and my friends and relatives from Texas LOVE Texas jokes, regardless of where the comedian is from

I don't see why anyone's complaining. You can disable them right now in game so you never have to worry about it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And how do you disable them on an inactive account, mmmh?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    From the OP:

"All of these settings are configured per character. Characters who have not logged in for over 90 days, regardless of whether they are tied to an active or inactive account, will not be viewable."

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be fair, that doesn't really address the issue.

If your account went inactive within the last 90 days before they implement the service your characters might be on the site until that 90 days had elapsed.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Just two? Heck I'll give that to ya. Gotta whole dimensional quiver full of them. Some with the flame built in even!

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol @ Dimensional Quiver, good one

as for the OP: she's from Texas, they can troll before they can walk out there, or so I am told...
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Just thought I'd mention this here - and if someone has already, then I appologize.

While we are being told that the option for displaying our friends list is set to 'enabled', or hidden, it is actually set to 'disabled'.

I went through all my toons tonight (just to see how long it took me to go through the marathon sessions starting next week) and took the time to reset that to 'enabled' on all of them.

And if you're wondering, it took me just over two hours to go through all of them - although I was fixing dinner for part of that time while I was doing this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Confirmed.

    I PMd Lighthouse about this.

We also need an answer on the question of whether Hiding All Info removes us from OTHER peoples Unhidden Friends lists. That question was also in my PM.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Possibly this has been covered, but I don't want my characters' names listed on a web page for RMT spammers because a friend has changed their settings to display their friends' list.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree. I don't really understand why the Friends info is there at all, but given that it is, there should be a way to keep Yourself off of Others lists.

Lighthouse? Do you see this is important?
  9. As has been mentioned, they already have everyone's names, for the most part.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
Let me be one more voice asking to set the options to Disabled by default for new characters. It's simply much kinder to have to opt in to an information service than to have to opt out. There's no reason to make it all enabled by default.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is a very good reason. If this system is made entirely opt-in then it will get used by very few people. If it's opt-out except for friends lists then it will get used by nearly everyone.
  11. Great new feature.

I'll echo some other folks in saying that:

    1. I agree with having everything enabled by default, except for the Friends list.

    2. There needs to be an option to Hide All Characters Info, so you don't have to log into every toon you want to hide.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
More important question! Will there be a repeatable source of respecs, possibly through the Flashback system, with the update?

    [/ QUOTE ]

We need this more than ever with new IO sets coming out.

Endlessly repeatable respecs for lvl 50 toons. Please.

(and fix the Spirit Signals/Robo Surgery too, please)
  13. IMO, the best fix would be to remake the Friends channel into an Events channel. This has been suggested before, I believe. I have, literally, seen the Friends channel used twice in 3 years. I think this would nicely solve the problem.
  14. um

    yea

or you could level really fast, make tons of money and just buy what you want...

also, I'm pretty sure you could suicide just fine in level appropriate zones...no need for all that travel...
  15. Positron explicitly stated that Pistols will never be a scrapper or stalker set. We may eventually see it for Corruptors or possibly Blasters.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
ok ok ok know that I have had several cups of coffee!!!!!
    Talk about way cool!!!
Lets say when you reach level (really high number) you can spec a char whose powers freely roam all the power sets. same number of powers but regardless of archetype.

Imagine a a Katana scrapper who can hurl a ball of lightning and shrug off an attack with a deflection shield?

huh? huh? huh? well? whaddya think?

    The easily excitable yet creative,
    Scotch Guard

    [/ QUOTE ]

The game used to be something kinda like that. Way back before release. They changed it because you could make toons that were either completely gimped or totally overpowered. Don't look for this to ever happen.
  17. this thread should be renamed...

    Try similar things with recovery.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    using Nova...

ok, I wil try this out and post my findings here
  19. I have had multiple people tell me in the last two days that they have noticed very clearly PBU effecting the +Regen and +Recovery of Regen and Recovery Aura and Adrenaline Boost. Obviously, this contradicts the information in this guide.

How can I go about testing these claims?
  20. awesome, ty

not sure why I couldn't figure out how to move it before, ah well

Attache, your comic is really good. I'll spend some time looking at the others. Might even make my own at some point, just for kicks.
  21. um, I cant read any of them.

They're too small to read the text, if I make them bigger they go off the screen and I cant move it to read the rest...

This Hypercomics thing is like...the worst piece of crap ever...

Does anyone want to link to PDF versions of their work so I can check it out?
  22. lol

    this is absurd

Essence of Earth is just there to help us while we learn how to do the raid. Training Wheels so to speak.

The devs have plenty of other things they are working on besides Hami.
