Not every time, but several times now, I have experienced Inspiration buffs vanishing (with no prior blinking, yet blinking works on other powers) prior to the end of the duration.
I have entered an ingame bug report.
I was hoping someone here might also have experienced this bug or might even know something about its cause.
Anyone at all seen this bug? -

I think our base is fine where it is now. I think the cap should be raised, but not to scrapper levels. Bring it up to about 1900 or 2000. Stalkers, it's true, are not Scrappers...but they should be tougher than BLASTERS.
Quote:2) Make Hide an inherent power, similar to Domination, thus allowing missing 9th powers to be re-inserted into these Stalker secondaries. There's no reason why Stalkers should be deprived of Quick Recovery, Death Shroud, etc as an option.
Will never happen. Targets need to be able to avoid AS if they are able to see the Stalker coming.
Quote:4) Specifically for Energy Aura, replace Repulse with Dampening Field. This isn't even a Cottage Rule issue - a knockback aura is anti-thematic to any melee AT, as demonstrated by it's absence from Brute EA.
Raise the HP cap. No other changes ought to be necessary. Although I have a feeling Castle is going to come up with something cooler. -
Quote:It is possible that the intent is to effect all characters as equally as possible...Mmmmggrf. That's kinda annoying, actually. If they want to go after the softcapped-non-defense-armorset-characters, I'd really prefer if they did it with defense debuffs rather than tohit buffs, as that at least allows *some* kind of protection for characters who are actually *supposed* to have defense-based mitigation (and thus have DDR).
If they really want to do that, the best way (imo) would be a relatively large-radius autohit aura with a relatively small ~5%ish debuff that follows the 'one active at a time' rule. Softcapped defense set characters probably wouldn't even notice the 1-2% debuff, but softcapped squishies would definitely notice going from 45% to 40%. Just jacking base tohit, though, is kinda cheap.
But honestly, it seems strange...why should these particular mobs have a higher hit chance? -
Actually, looking at it again, it's still too much like a buff set.
Maybe something like this:
1. Entangling Arrow
2. Flash Arrow
4. Glue Arrow
10. Ice Arrow
16. Build Up
20. Arrow Stab (you stab your opponent in the face with arrows held in your fist; a fast, hard hitting Lethal damage attack with not too long a recharge, think slightly better than Energy Punch, maybe with a little -Def)
28. Boost Range
35. Facesmash (you smack your opponent in the face with the middle of your bow; a somewhat slow attack doing a lot of Smashing damage and a strong stun, think a little better than Bone Smasher)
38. Oil Patch Arrow
that seems a little more Blastery -
We need one or two more Blaster secondaries I'd say.
Let's start with a version of Trick Arrow:
Drop Disruption Arrow and Acid Arrow.
Add Build Up and Boost Range.
Make Oil Slick into Oil Patch.
Move around the levels a little and...
Here's what we've got:
1. Entangling Arrow
2. Flash Arrow
4. Glue Arrow
10. Ice Arrow
16. Build Up
20. Poison Gas Arrow
28. Boost Range
35. Oil Patch Arrow
38. EMP Arrow
Anyone else got any neat ideas? -
"It has taunt, and all its attacks have taunt components."
Do Dwarf attacks really have punchvoke? I also took a long break from the game, but I don't remember this or a patch note indicating this. -
Quote:Yeah, but now you're talking about a Very specific set of circumstances in order to have getting SBd randomly cause problems. In city zones, when there are street corners, you can't see beyond the side of the building, and since SB lacks a stealth componet, you could go right by a group that you didn't see because of a)render time b) buildings/objects in the way. Even if you are not rounding the corner, if you come within their agro range, they can still hit you (sometimes quite hard).

Quote:It's more effort and resources than it's worth for the Devs to actually do it unless it opens up a Lot of names.Well, less people are helped. I can't imagine that "no one" is.
I've had several ideas for names and tried the ole "Get their global and send them a tell" trick. Out of five names, four didn't have a global assigned to them indicating that the accounts have been defunct since before global names were introduced (Issue 12, May 2008). I might just be a unique snowflake in this regard but I have a suspicion that there's a fair number of "good" names that'd be opened up, especially on the heavier populated servers. -
No, Emberly, he's right. Just because C is a constant doesn't mean that it isn't C'c interaction with B that is causing the problem. It does Not logically follow that the problem is B. It may be Strongly Suggested, but it is not true by necessity.
-
If not many names are freed up then noone is Helped, either.

no, it is YOUR responsibility to take action to ensure your privacy if you want to play Solo
it is not Our responsibility to walk on eggshells every time we see someone fighting street mobs
the only relevant point is that if you are on the streets then you are NOT soloing, by definition, in an MMO -

Quote:There is no such thing as SOLO play in an MMO unless you are unteamed in an Instance.Purposely interfering with another SOLO player's gameplay without consideration of whether they want your interference is griefing.
I've already stated that there is a distinction between TEAM play and SOLO play. Quit trying to twist my words around.
Respect and consideration for other players would dictate that you ASK the SOLO player if they want assistance.
"Want some buffs?"
"sure"
*buff*
"Want some buffs?"
"no ty"
"kk. gl."
It's not about "playing your toon the way it was intended", save that for TEAMing. It's about respect and consideration for other players, especially if you are not teamed with them. -

Quote:Have you seen the other powers that come after Gale? Having more KB that does no appreciable damage is not a glaring hole in that set that needs to be filled by Gale.
Low level Controllers do so little damage and get no Containment bonus damage from knocked down foes, that skipping Gale to pick up an extra attack is huge for survivability.
Besides, Nemesis Staff is better: KB + high damage.
I don't concern myself with the damage output of low level controllers. If you want damage play a different AT. If you want low level damage on a controller, focus on your primary.
Gale DOES serve an essential purpose in the Storm Summoning set. None of the later powers give knockback on demand in a chosen direction. Hurricane only sometimes knocks back and the direction is very difficult to control, also the power is not available til 20 unless you're a defender. Lightning Storm is not available til very late, can only knockback in a Very small aoe, isn't mobile, and picks its own targets.
When I want these mobs over There NOW, Gale is the power to use (unless I was a Gravity controller).
I consider myself as much of an expert on Storm as anyone, I have a 50 defender, a 50 controller, a 26 mastermind and a 24 corruptor with the set.
Looking at Gale for what it contributes to personal damage output at the lowest levels of the game is to ignore the purpose of the Storm Summoning set and Controllers as an archetype. -
15ft difference in ALL directions is significant. RA covers about 40% of the area of a Regen beacon. The sets that get these beacons (Plant Control and Traps) have FAR more mitigation than Empathy.
In a vacuum RA is clearly better than the plants, but looking at the whole sets, those plants are quite good. -
my video card finally committed hari kari last night, now it overheats not only with graphics up in 3d games, but also merely while browsing web pages or watching a video online
it was a EVGA e-GeForce 6200 LE, without a fan, it pretty much never worked very well
now, I don't have the funds to get a whole new system (which is what I would need to truly upgrade, since my current box cannot take PCI-E cards), so to get a little more life out of the AGP system I'm gonna get yet another new AGP card
this one is the PowerColor AG3650, which is a bit better of a card overall, and actually has a fan this time, so hopefully this will solve at least Some of my ongoing issues
anyway, I can't play til it gets here, so have a fun week! -
Quote:it's up a lot more than regen aura and effects a wider area...it's weaker by designI wish it was considerable...
I mean, sure, Spirit Tree/Triage Beacon is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Hell, it's better regen than most individual characters can give themselves outside of Rest. But it's not really that great for an immobile regen buff. I'd even be satisfied if they increased it by 100% (from 150% to 250%), then at least it would be about equal to Regen Aura's unehnaced buff after you slotted it. -
no, what we're saying is that a relative few, outlying powers including Jab, and a couple others need to be buffed a little, and a couple ought to be switched in order, RPD > Temp Invuln for example. there are cases where the power isn't that good, but the general idea is a sensible balance mechanism.

my favorite new name is for my Archery/Trick Arrow Corruptor named Wall of Text
I named her in advance expectation of the day I will see this:
You ready Rain of Arrows.
Wall of Text has defeated Bladegrass.

Quote:Blue side that might make some kind of in game sense at least. I only play Red Side however.
And as a PLAYER, I'd much rather be allowed to fail (and learn to play better) than have someone adjust my play experience at their whim.
So, I'm on my Axe WP brute a few months ago in St Martial, testing "how many/tough can I handle at once?" so I can figure out where to put the new difficulty sliders at before I start missioning, and I start targeting progressively larger groups. I'm on a tough group of 10 freaks, and I've whittled them down to only 4 left. It's a close fight, I'm low on INSPs, and I'm on the edge of my seat with the excitement of "will I win or lose?"...
..and some drive by buffer comes by and removes the chance of losing from the scenario for me. Thanks for that.
Your complaints are ridiculous for the following reason:
The qualities you are looking for, the ability to fight crowds of size and toughness you determine without external aid are features of Single Player games or Solo instance missions.
The game has given you the tools to enable your playstyle (in instanced missions and the AE) and you have chosen not to use them.
It'd be like if I ordered quesadilla and then complained there was cheese on it. I should have ordered tacos without cheese if I didn't want any cheese. It's not the fault of the waiter, the cook, the restaurant owner, the cheese farmer, or anyone else but me that I didn't get what I wanted. -
Quote:Let's look at it this way. It's all about Gale.
Freakin' Gale.
Anyway, so, your first T1 secondary keeps you more alive than taking T1 and T2 of your primary, eh? <rolls eyes>
Does it keep you more alive when you're level 30 and respec and still have to take it?
If Power Thrust is a good power (and I think people generally consider it a pretty decent power), then Gale is amazing because it's ranged, cone Power Thrust.
With a very few exceptions (RPD and Jab come to mind) the first secondary powers are quite good and important. -
Cause Kheldians don't bring enough to a team compared to, say, Arachnos, and PBs don't do enough damage.
