Our winner this month is.... Toxic Shia! We should all mail him our congratulatory faces.
The eliminated player this month is Bubbawheat. I've really enjoyed your work, and I hope you had a lot of fun =)
Frost again provides a full break-down

I rather like these. I think simple designs are the most challenging, because every element carries so much of the piece. Quite nice work!
-
Is your son in school? You can get a student discount on Photoshop if so. The Design Standard (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is $300 if you're a student or an educator.
-
That's why I'm giving ya 2 months. I figured this one would be trickier to come up with an idea, but once you hit on one, there should be lots of potential for art awesomeness.
Also, I do want to limit anybody winning their way back to those who got in the race to begin with. -
HOLY RETCON, BATMAN!
We're shaking things up for our mid-year theme. In the spirit of the classic (or cheap!) comic tool, your challenge this month is to play the retcon game with City of Heroes!
There's also going to be some retconning going on with our participants! I muddled over a way to let participants win a way back in the running, and here it is. Any participant who was eliminated for any reason may use this theme to get back in the running... PROVIDED THEY WIN THE ENTIRE MONTH! Yes, if you want back on, you have got to prove yourself and take home the title with this challenge.
If an eliminated participant wins the month, they will ONLY win their right to fight another day. They WILL NOT carry immunity to the next challenge. If a regular participant wins, they will get immunity as per usual.
Due to the more open nature of the theme and how it may be trickier to pull off, I'm making this a 2-month theme. I also figure its vacation season (for many participants) and this will give everyone a little breathing room if they're getting crunched. Also gonna take out the Hot Chicks Rule for the same reasons.
For your retconning, you can either show a retcon you wish would happen with the CoH cannon, or something you pray to God never does! You may also retcon in your own characters stories, but be advised that if people don't get what you're going for from being unfamiliar with your subjects, that may hurt your winning chances. As always, feel free to ask for any clarifications.
THE RULES
1. Keep It Clean- All entries must be direct-linkable on the boards. If its worse than PG-13, you will be disqualified.
2. Use City of Heroes/Villains Elements- Your entry must somehow relate to City of Heroes/Villains either through character, setting, or some other means
3. Visual Fan Art Only- We're not taking writing, music, or interpretive dance submissions
DEADLINES
All entries must be posted to this thread or the dA group by MIDNIGHT US EASTERN TIME, SATURDAY JULY 24TH. Voting/the new theme will follow during that weekend. Its in the artists' best interest to get their pieces in early for feedback or in case there is a disqualifying element. Feel free to PM me with any questions or if you're unsure if something is within the rules.
Cheap ploys, FTW! -
Its time to vote for the winner of May's epic FArt Battle!
This month's theme was the Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Heavenly Virtues. Full details may be found HERE.
Votes must be given in a 1,2,3 voting format. The entrant with the fewest votes will be eliminated. The winner will carry immunity into the next round.
Deadline for voting is SATURDAY, MAY 29TH AT 12 MIDNIGHT, EASTERN TIME.
Good luck to everyone!

Storm Vyxen rounds out the sketch special with 4 more pieces...
EDIT: Which I'm just going to say for now are all on my dA page, because the boards are only bringing up one image right now... -
LD - I need your piece to get in the May FArt Comp folder in the CoH group. I can use the folder thumbs to set up the voting thread, since they are separate files (not like the individual piece thumbs anymore...)
-
OK, since there was photographic evidence, I'll let this one slide. The rule isn't just so God can **** with you. Obviously you were making a lot of effort to get in on the deadline and I won't call you on computers getting in the way.
Much like how I have to go through a terrible appeal process for my financial aid because my mother died and I was struck partially blind.... I'll never add to someone's punishment because horrible things happened to them in the first place
Were everyone as much of a stickler as Caemgen, I would be a part-time typist for the rest of my life. -
OOOOOkay. Its Mightnight.... so there are no entries after this point! *clangs down the gate*
-
You guys sure make loving us wait until the very end!
-
Looks liike CR will be in under the buzzer... if at all
-
Only a couple hours left for the couple stragglers
-
-
I'm gonna have to use something else to make the thumbs for the voting thread for the FArt Competition because of it....
THAT'S JUST THE LAST STRAW *snaps dA in half* -
BWAHAHAHAHAA!!! I was literally lol'ing over Shia's entry.

With the credits I need left, I think it'll pull up to about a 3.94 when all is said and done. I'll just be applying before those classes end.
I got a B in Statistics.... I should see about reporting those results in a way that its actually an A and I really have a 4.0 ^.^
Statistics and the Psych course based on Statistics (which I got an A in, go fig) are actually what made me become horribly jaded with Psychology and change my major. Statistics is a course all about how to lie with numbers. I just couldn't be a party to it! -
Thanks to those that PM'd me and gave me their insight into what I'm starting to finalize into my set-in-stone portfolio. Always interesting to see the similarities and differences in opinion, and the feedback is helpful and very appreciated!
Grades for the Spring semester came out today, and my overall GPA is now a 3.92 =)
So I'll be applying with a 3.92 GPA, membership in Phi Theta Kappa (honor society), being VP of Scholarship for Phi Theta Kappa, awards from the Student Art Show, and the yearly Willard Sauter award for outstanding drawing along with my portfolio. I think I might have a good shot of getting accepted into SU... -
Thanks. I'm really starting to prefer a posterized sort of look vastly over lots of blending and smudging. I find it more graphically interesting =)
Also, I'm back open for full commissions again starting Monday! Having a little special deal to get started... check out my website or dA (both in sig) for all the details. -
What is this Ravenloft? I just went by CR's screenies and honestly have no clue what it is.

This is minor in the grand scheme of things, but does the top nav bar now seem like an ad or one of those Would You Like To Remember This Password? bars to anyone else? I keep wanting to click on it to get rid of it or something...
