Do you guys get any type of a break after the release of an Issue or are you like any other business where employees schedule their earned vacation time?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just like any other business where you schedule your vacation time. It's business as usual starting right away on the next one once the previous issue is done.

    Good question.

  2. Well, I DID consider doing a Lost reference, but I couldn't cram all those people onto that one teeny tiny island.

It was either that or ban Sawyer and stuff him there.

I figured I wouldn't be QUITE so obvious. Wait, I ended up being obvious anyway.

I still think it's kind of funny he hasn't found his soccer ball even though it's not too far away.

  3. Hey, everyone!

Man, that was fun. I had such fun dancing and hanging out with you guys. My only wish is that I could type faster (And read faster. And give titles faster.) And, seriously, who taught you guys those moves? My dance instructor said they were ONE OF A KIND!!!! (hehe)

Yes, I did ski. It got a little touch and go for a while there, but no matter, the rocks stopped my out-of-control shenanigans. My head still hurts where I banged into that rock. Hopefully, no one saw that. (Wait, I just...posted...it...oops.)

Everyone was super fantastic and I loved meeting every single one of you.

I tried as best I could to respond to tells, but once I started doing the whole "title thing" -- yes I would have loved to done a unique one for you guys, but I would have been there until today still doing it, I would have missed out.

Titles come and go, but talking to the people who make the game as dynamic and fun as it is, wow, you can't buy that.

I know, I'm schmoozing a bit here, but it's true. Some days I work in my little cube with my Attack of the 50 Foot Woman poster on my door (whom I have renamed Attack of the 5.0 Foot Woman) and go off with my pals for lunch and come back and do work type things and I forget that people see the stuff I work on and (for the most part I hope!) like it. Okay, I don't forget, but you know what I mean.

Whatever silly little inside joke I put in, or some dialogue I wrote, or even plunking down a long-asked-for trainer in Peregrine Island, I think it's business as usual. Then I see you guys all together in but one instance of Pocket D and I go, "Whoa. This is SO cool."

I don't know what's in the drinking water in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles, but you guys are UNBEATABLE when it comes to passion and excitement for the game. I have read my share of forums and I've played my share of games. I can honestly say that, in my utterly biased opinion, you guys are the best players there are.

This has been a wild wild WILD ride for me and it feels like we launched just yesterday. Time goes so quickly! I still remember running around Atlas Park for the first time in beta and seeing another player in there. It about BLEW...MY...MIND.

And I am SO THERE next year. Lighthouse, bring on the pizza! (And another keyboard, I think I'm destroying the keys on this one, too.)

    Happy 3rd Anniversary, everyone!

    Love

    CoX Rocks !! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  4. Yeah. Average teen? Hm.... Mayyyybe.

I DID consider calling her "Claire Shipman" -- an homage to both one of my fave TV shows and one of my fave movies. I'm sure it's pretty obvious what the movie is.

I figured the more obvious egg would be what she blurts out randomly -- to REALLY give it away.

  5. Oh man...let me see...

    I've played:

    - Meridian59
    - Ultima Online
    - Asheron's Call
    - EverQuest
    - Dark Age of Camelot
    - Star Wars Galaxies
    - City of Heroes / Villains (!)
    - EverQuest 2
    - Earth and Beyond
    - Anarchy Online
    - Guild Wars
    - Disney's Toontown Online
    - World of Warcraft

So I've played a few, both beta and live.

    WW
  6. Well that was quick. I figured I'd sidetrack you with the whole Old Fashioned badge and you went and found the other anyway.

    WW

    Nice job.

    FAULTLINE!

    War Witch posted?

I have to check my list, but I think it is one of the things that I have listed that means the end of the world is near.

    [/ QUOTE ]

WHAT?! How come I didn't get that memo??

Now that I've posted again, does that mean everything is cool again?

The Activist outside the cityhal in the game regularly blurts out various things which essentially are reflections of what players have been saying. In a way, its kinda like a little joke but also the devs letting players know that they have heard the community.

One of the things the Activist shouts is asking the city to begin to rebuild Faultline. Meaning the devs are no doubt looking into revising the zone.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

  9. Still here.

Yes, I was busy adding flavor spawns to Atlas Park, Kings Row, and Galaxy City.

I've seen some posts on the changes and additions and dialogue so thanks for the great feedback.

It was kind of interesting going back with the new animations and having some fun. Kings Row wasn't my zone, but Atlas Park and Galaxy City were so it was pretty weird going back to them again after a long absence. But a good weird.

I did not have the opportunity to go into The Hollows and Perez Park like I would have liked, but I did manage to get some time in to at least pull spawns out front of mission doors and remove some of the nastier mission doors in the HEART of the Perez Park maze. (not sure if anyone noticed that change)

The Hollows, just a few spawns removed around contacts or mission doors and extra mission doors added for variety, if applicable.

That was all I had time for, unfortunately, but I'm glad you guys like what you see.

    WW

    See? I'm still here!

I still think War Witch deserves a nom.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is she even with the game anymore? She hasn't posted in.. forever.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You nominated her and then you edited it out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yeah, what's up with that?

Postcards from the Edge (1990) Meryl Streep, Shirly Maclaine:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Suzanne: How can you laugh? It's completely disgusting! Especially in this day and age.
Evelyn: You look like someone who can take care of herself...Don't feel bad. He probably really likes you. If you can just... enjoy yourself with him like he's enjoying himself with you... That's what I do. I'm in it for the endolphin rush.
    Suzanne: Endorphin.
    Evelyn: Whatever.

    Exactly the reference. Nicely done.

The bad pick-ups lines on the dance floor in the Golden Giza casino are the greatest things ever:

Murray: Excuse me, do you have any raisins? How about a date?

*Note to self: use this line later*

Oh good. All that research paid off

  14. LOL I'm glad you guys are enjoying the dialogue. It's pretty wild to see something we thought was kind of cute while writing it make this list. Some stuff I wrote, I laughed out loud. Then I told someone and they kind of cocked their head and went, "Yeah...I mean that's amusing, but...it's not wildly funny or anything."

I was just cackling over this thread with Josh, who wrote the Luddite / Gold Bricker stuff and the rest of the dialogue for Cap au Diable (with some input from Capn Mako). (No, he doesn't have a cool board name yet.)

We're like, "That's hysterical. Did you write that one?"

    "Yeah, that one was mine."

    "You're brilliant."

    "No YOU'RE brilliant."

    "No YOU are."

    "Okay, I'm brilliant."

And so on and so forth.

Thanks for compiling these. It's great fun to see you guys appreciate our humour.

The mission writers did some great work, too. They're responsible for all the dialogue you see IN the missions.

    War Witch
  15. You guys need to add Josh to your permanently favourite Dev list because Cap au Diable was his zone and he did the dialogue for the Gold Brickers and Luddites.

And he is, in fact, quite hilarious, even if he doesn't have a cool board name.

However, if anything in Mercy, Port Oakes, Siren's Call, Nerva Archipelago, or Bloody Bay made you smile - then I'll accept compliments.

Josh and I did a tag-team effort on St. Martial. (Actually, Sharkhead, too, since we took it over once it was already populated, but we did do the dialogue.)

He did Cap and Warburg solo.

    Just to clarify.

    WW

P.S. I'll definitely be passing on along your compliments. He'll get a kick out of that.
  16. *smiles* I didn't write that.

    Can I be your second-fave?

    Nicely done!

  20. I posted this answer on another thread, but I'll pass it along here. The new guy from the trailer is Foreshadow.

  21. It's been a crazy wild year. You guys (and ladies!) have been awesome and I've had a fantastic time working ON the game and playing IN the game with many of you (secretly, of course)

    Happy Anniversary!

    War_Witch
  22. I remember being the only person in Atlas Park - or any of the other zones for that matter. Just me and the mobs. So when I saw players actually log on during the first days of beta it was...the...coolest...thing...ever.

    Reading these posts. Great fun.

  23. *shakes her head* Nope. Positron is a guy.
  24. LOL I'm sure it'll come as a great shock to Poz that he's a female.
