  3. 38 levels of mind/psi and I can say that mesmerize is [censored]. in PvE and PvP there are better powers to use in the situation thana single target sleep.

    You get out what you put in, you learn all the powersets and what the powers do and you are likely to win/survive much more often.

    You don't have to learn numbers at all, just understand what the pretty pink thing means when it hits you, or blue is going slowly. You don't have to be a mathematically genius to figure the game mechanics out.

    Why should it be a lazy learning curve in PvP? With the amount of combinations of possible powers why should it be point and click like any online FPS shooter?

    It is a learning curve, but it makes the game better as a whole if people understand the other powersets better.

    The other day I met a nice blaster who said "I dunno what other powers do, I just blast things till they stop twitching"

    Now how much better would that char be in PvE and PvP if he understood what his teammates/enemies powers were and how they worked.

    I have no intention of leaving CoH/CoV anytime soon, especially for a pure PvP game, RF and GW are so shockingly poor for anything other than CS gamers that I'd rather cut off my right arm than play them again.

    I guess what I want to know is, are the people who are in this game and participate in PvP as part of the game as a whole, going to be playing in RV a lot, if not why not - maybe we can provide a lot of feedback to the devs explaining if it isn't working.

    How do you think I7 will affect the quality/quantity of PvP across the different zones?

    At the moment Bloody Bay is pretty quiet apart from people wanting the temp power.

    Sirens is the busiest, and at most peak times there's a good chance there is a little battle going on, but rarely ever more than an 8v8.

    Warburg is very quiet, never seen an 8v8 or more going on, just people going for rocketman badge.

    Which leads me to Recluse victory...Given the amount of 50s already on CoH will Villains be put off entering the zone until they themselves hit 50? Or will the zone be as quiet as warburg and people stick with Sirens?

    A lot of people I've spoken too about Warburg have said that the lvl 32 and lvl 38 powers are too powerful in PvP and spoil the fun, so they stay in Sirens, will the same be true in RV?

    What are your views?

    this is a pvp build so i wud being using ID as a perma buff to my team as i give perma cm to my team as my empath so even given the shorter buff time i'm sure i cud keep this up.

    i have air sup on my empath but feel with siphon speed hover wud be useful on a /kin

    no fulcrum as its use in pvp is very situational and i feel there are more valuable powers

    You've got inertial reduction for unsupressed travel, slotting fly and using siphon speeded hover is just pointless.

    Fulcrum will be useful come massive PvP battles, even if you use it once or twice in a big rumble it'll swing the tide a lot more than some other powers you've taken.

    As said above, there are more useful things to do than keep team-mates perma ID+SB'd especially as a controller. You are not a buff bot!

    Mind/Psi Build

    I'm getting the BS Patron armour (+DEF) to stack along with CJ and Maneuvers.

    Confuse isn't as effective as I'd like in PvP, especially mass confuse. And I hate the length of the activation time on confuse.

    Note: at the moment I have every primary power and have played with them for the last 15 levels so I know how each of them play, in PvE and PvP.

    To be honest, Group hold and single target hold are enough to lock down mobs in PvE, with the odd Terrify and TK thrown in controlling isn't much of a problem. I'd rather lock down a mob and start helping out with damage than trying to confuse, sleep etc. the odd minnion that got away.

    But many thanks for suggestions.

    Yes, it's definitely a consideration. I suppose those 44+ would prefer to ghost and get through it as quick as possible.

    However, it ain't a DarkWings team unless we kill everything single thing that moves.

    I'll ask on the day. Perhaps we can spilt the teams for those who want to kill everything and those who want to get through it as quick as possible.

    Think i'll choose resilience instead of conserve power. But I'm standing by not wanting parry - if things get hairy and I need defence I'll hit MoG but tbh this has rarely happened so far.

    I'm dissapointed that I haven't got space for a 5th power pool so i can stack tough with resilience - but I really don't want to get rid of the pools i've chosen.

    Trouble is if I leave accs out, I'll be less likely to hit things in Sirens - providing people still play there after RV is out. I suppose I can always keeping swapping enhancements over if that happens.

    And conserve power was a bit of a "I don't know what to take now" power. Think I might take resilience instead, or maybe vengeance, or even acrobatics to stack with integration to make me harder to hold in PvP.
