When clicking on, "NEW," the sort field should automatically change to a newest items sort list. If I click on, "NEW," and all I see are Beam Rifle, Rocket Board, and other things I already own, what would make me click page 2 to see if there's something newer than that (aside from the giant blurb on the launcher)? Please add a sort field that allows us to sort, "Newest to Oldest."
Also, did we ever get an answer about whether they are fixing the market to hide the BUY button on items that we already own? We also need a check box that lets us hide items we have already unlocked. And animated hair... (just had to throw that back into the mix. lol) -
I know that I've seen this requested several times, but I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it in here, or if it is something that you can help with. I read as much as I could, but it's 5 whole pages... at about 100 or 200 posts per page.
I also didn't see anyone with a visual of how it might work, so I have one of those.
Anyway, many people want different auras for different body parts. This idea might also solve the body aura vs path aura issue as well. Without further ado, here is what I came up with. The way it would work, then, is that each body part would have an aura option, allowing people to set exactly what aura they want on that part. I know there are only so many nodes in the costume creator, but I think this would be a good use.

Thanks Dee Dee. I guess some explanations are in order for some of the items. Firast off, the hands need to have gloves on. I made them a bit bigger to help show that. Maybe somewhere between mine and yours would be good. I also needed the feet to look dug in. I think we may need to tilt the forward foot down a bit. I'll see if I can come up with some more on this. Also, his pelvis seems oddly angled now. I'll do a skeleton over it before we go any futher. Thanks for the input!

Sorry. That's all I have to add at this time. I love new stuff in CoH. Keep adding more. -
As of today, still getting the message that the Training Room server is not open to the public. Any word on when it will be back in business?

I went into Architect Entertainment, and created a new character. I wasn't sure what powers I wanted until after I could see how the character would look. When i finished the costume, and clicked back over to powers, the character was still standing in the center of the screen, blocking my view of the power sets. After selecting the sets, I registered the character, and everything saved like normal.
Related to Character Creation, I have a lot of characters who now have invalid costume pieces, breaking many of my customer characters in AE as well as actual characters.
I have also noted that power suppression is not working in the Atlas Studio B room. There was a thread on these issues in the Beta forum, but I understand that it is going away soon. I couldn't find any mention of this in this section.
Any other issues still hanging around, or any new ones popping up? -
So, to necro yet another thread, and one quite worthy of such, I have the following request. I have taken on a gift art for Fr0stbyte (who seems oddly absent lately) of his character H0T SH0T, and was wondering if anyone would like to tweak my template a little, or give suggestions, before I start adding the costume. His reference below, and my latest version below that:
I want to give the impression that he has been knocked backwards, and that he is preparing to retaliate using his fire powers. I want it to look like he's sliding backwards, and I was thinking both hands should be open in a powerful claw-like manner. I also have no background to speak of, other than the ground giving way under his feet.

Quote:Are we going to start seeing guesses for Mynx, Mirror Spirit, Swan, Malaise, Luminary, or Amanda Vimes? lolValkyrie (note - not one of the surviving eight, though still a valid, if longshot, guess)
On a more serious note, I don't think I have a good enough guess to drop that kind of cash. Most of my characters are poor. -
Have you decided if you're still doing this, or thought of a theme yet? I have an interesting Brute that I'd like to see against Blue Boltage. It's the ever-popular Red vs Blue battle! Maniacal Electrode is a bit of a rage-head, and is hard to stop once he gets going. Will Boltage's elec-fu be strong enough to stop him?

I would imagine that it could take place anywhere, so I'll wait to see what you're up to.
(also, on a side note, is there still a collaboration thread? I was looking to do some of that.) [edit] Found it... I think...[/edit] -
I am also seeing the "public access is not allowed" message. I was hoping they'd let us get in there to do another test, seeing as it's more closely tied to live accounts. I guess it's all just a waiting game.

I know that this hasn't been brought up for a while, but rather than start another thread, I'd like to voice my approval of something like this, in addition to just reworking travel between zones as a whole. Along with the reasons already mentioned, here are my ideas:
As people have mentioned, Independence Port needs a lot more help. Every time I do the Hero 1 cape mission, I dread having to go all the way up to the NW end of the zone, especially on characters who don't have Fly as their travel power.
Faultline needs its own station. Repairs should have progressed far enough where they can have one, if not two. I shouldn't have to go to Skyway South, just to zone again into Faultline.
Founders Falls should really get added here as well. Talos would approve.
Also, this isn't just for the sake of travel times, but making the zones more accessible. Skyway and Steel were a lot more cumbersome to get around before, and now I have a way to get in there and do what I need to do. -
Oh, and why I came here in the first place:
Some of the costume contests are fairly self-explanatory, but could we just get a bit more explanation on them? I'm mostly looking for "Famous Historical People - with a Twist." Is that only real-life historical figures, such as Houdini, Stalin, Joan of Arc, or would it include fictional ones such as MacBeth, Odin, Perseus, etc? I know you probably don't want anything that already holds a copyright, but what about public domain stuff? Also, I'm guessing that the "twist" is up to the creator, and not set by the devs? -
-
Well, it wouldn't serve the exact same purpose. It could change to all red during zone-wide events. If you had a street sweep mission, it could blink the borders of areas where those mobs exist. It could allow for more flexible mob changes in the future, by showing the respective color for the highest mob in that neighborhood. They could ultimately be able to re-level a zone more easily, and players would still know if they are appropriate for that zone. I'm sure there are other uses as well.
-
I'm not sure how much time this would take, or how difficult it would be to implement, but is there any way that the red/orange/yellow/green borders on the map be replaced with something that shows a color that is based on what level your character is? So, in your early days, you happen to accidentally wander into Talos, and you'd see that the neighborhoods in that zone are outlined in purple, letting you know that you shouldn't be there. I think it would be a good way to help people know what zones they are appropriate for, while also showing people where to go if they want more of a challenge.

I've always been a fan of this. I am often tempted to name my characters in some way that makes the NPCs sound daft.

Quote:For cut scenes, I could see them using a similar function as Xtranormal Movie Maker (minus the digital voice and simplified characters). There are even some CoH videos made with it.My interest in creating my own bit of content for the CoHniverse have recently rekindled and as far as I can tell nothing has been added featurewise, even if the new maps are nice
I was wondering if there are any intent on some of the following points:- Creating scripted scenes: I know scripted scenes are not everyone's cup of tea, but for the climax of a story arc it would be grand to be able to add a little drama that way. I don't know how the current setup is for that - but I was thinking that a fixed camera position, use of the model we have picked and some way to create a number of dialogue+animation blocks would be within the realm of possibility? Adding a skip-function right away would probably also be really helpful
- Creating custom NPCs from existing groups: Currently we can only alter the colouration of existing enemy models - I was thinking it would be great if we had the option to create custom additions to existing groups, say Freakshow or Devouring Earth. I assume the parts they are made from exist as resources that can be put together, so a costume editor that would allow us to flip a few things back and forth using a fixed set of arms, hands, heads, etc so the models arent broken - like adding a Dreck arm to a custom Freak boss or perhaps scaling down or up down models to create shorter or larger minions, lts and bosses.
- Monster maker: I am REALLY missing the ability to create large and grotesque monsters - and given that unusual shapes already exist in the game, this should also be possible with something like a "monster costume editor" that allows for larger size than 8 feet and access to some of the hands, tentacles, body forms and whatnot you have created for all myriad of non-humans in the game.
- Custom maps: Custom maps is really high on the list - and if not full maps, then just a specific room in a map (for that end-all-be-all showdown) so it could be tailored to the occasion and the NPCs in play. Given that we already have the base editor, this would also seem within the realm of the plausible - even if I suspect that maps probably take up a lot of space if they are constructed in the same way as custom critters
aaaaand that's it.
I'd like to add to your list if I may:
Enemy Morphing: I would like to see an option to morph a character to a different model at the 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 health markers... possibly to the extent of a different character alltogether. This would set up multi-stage fights where the boss goes 1-winged angel on the player(s). I have one AE arc where this would come in handy, but the boss currently just spawns the next version of himself elsewhere when he is defeated.
NPC Yelling: When a character spawns, either at the beginning of the level or in the middle or end, allow them to yell something to the entire zone. It would often enable me to explain my story (or stories) in a more effective way.
Captives becoming Allies or Enemies once rescued: I recently added what I intended to be a Peacebringer and a Warshade into one of my arcs. They would start in human form, surrounded by Void Seekers, and upon rescue, they could help you out. Well, the only Kheldians in the AE creator are in their Nova and Dwarf forms. If I could use something similar to my first suggestion, they could activate and morph into another form, and then attack you or join you. This could even be triggered by a dialogue tree that depends on your answer.
Epic Archetype Powers: I would like to see Kheldians, Arachnos Soldier and Widow powersets selectable when creating characters. If it is there, I just can't find them. Maybe the primary sets can be tied to their respective secondaries so that people can't create Energy Blast crab soldiers, or something.
Power Customization: I miss being able to use this in AE. There are many characters that I have created with a specific concept (one that is possible to players, but not available in AE) and when I run the mission, it just feels wrong.
I get that there's a lot of farming going on, but I play them for the stories. I understand that others do as well. Also, I like the idea of creating personalized content for my characters. The fact that other people can play them, too, is a bonus. -
I am looking to set up an art trade, to get me back to drawing regularly. At the same time, I'll see if I can go through here and find something that sparks my creativity.
I am also on DeviantArt (whtjunior), and I have turnarounds saved in my Scraps. Any characters are up for trade. -
For me, it was when one of the Devs explained to me that they do not find Jenkins funny. That's about when I lost interest. My last real foray was This Comic.

I like it. But, being the nitpick that I am, I feel the need to correct one thing:
SKs are 1 level lower than the person who SKs them. If a 23 SKd him, he would only be 22, making Jenkins a green con. Maybe exaggerate a bit more, and make it a 25 who SKs him.
Other than that, like I said, it's good. ^_^ -
Just to keep Jenkins going, I put him in my comic strip on this thread. I mean, if he quits all this stuff, why not my comic strip? ^_<
-
No, that about sums it up. See, Jenkins is sort of this amalgamation of the quitter, idiot savant, and a wisecracking smart a**. Besides, I think we agreed long ago that we're not here to judge anyone else's attempts at Jenkins Lore. I mean, he's been turned into a chihuahua, sent to swim with the fishes, was turned into one of those 'fishes', ratted out the Column, harrassed by a skull-headed man who didn't know his name, got kicked out of a restaurant, and had many more crazy adventures too numerous to recount. I'd say you did him justice. Now, where's his badge already? lol
On that note, I have another brief Jenkins story:
Warehouse. Garment Works. Kings Row. Paragon City. Dingy. Abandoned. Run down. There are Clockwork everywhere. While some of them stand, waiting for some unknown foe, others patrol the hallways. At the end of one hallway, in a small room, the largest of these metal constructs waits. With him are one Sprocket, and Jenkins. All the waiting seems to be getting to Jenkins.
Jenkins: What are we waiting for, anyway? No one's said a friggin' thing to me since we got here. And you. He points at the Sprocket. Could you put your friggin' head back on? It's creeping me out. I mean, all this technological and mechanical mastery, and you can't keep your head attached? I need to go update my resume, I'm outta here.

I found it! You each had one of my longer ones. The only other one I can remember was quite short. Posted during what seemed to be a draught in the Jenkins saga, I posted a one line entry (not word for word, but close):
Jenkins looks around at the rocks and lava and the Magamanites around him, "Is it just me, or is it friggin' hot in here?"
