A bank cave... in Primeva.
-
I remember the time I was dorking around on my brother's account. I don't know if you knew it was me or not, but after I set that straight, you asked me anyway if I wanted to participate in a Three Eye Detective Agency case file, back when you still played Dolbian. It was literally my first RP experience in this game, and I was so nervous! But it was a blast and I got my own account and stuck with the game and the RP scene for four more years, probably as a direct result of that.
Then you wrote your AE missions and I told all my friends they HAD to play it, even walked a few of them through it myself. And they -loved- it! "Yeah, that guy who wrote all those AE missions? He also wrote Dean MacArthur/Leonard. He's a dev now!"
"Are you serious, Shey?! These new story arcs are awesome!"
And all of them being roleplayers, they were so excited that the quality in the mission writing was going up a million notches. And we did so many of the new story arcs in-character as a group.
Sean, you made a huge impact, both in the game and in our RP. And I'm gonna miss all that. And now I'm crying again because I'm probably one of your biggest fangirls(!), so I'll wrap this up! Thanks for all the fun we've had over the years! Wherever you find yourself, good luck!
Much, much <3!

... Now I'm gonna cry again, thanks!
It really was a fun ride. Good luck to you and everyone at Paragon Studios. <3 -

I was able to complete the arc as normal until I went to turn in the final mission. I got my badge for it, I didn't get a souvenir, but it seemed that Leonard had another mission for me. The mission title was something along the lines of "Test out your new cutscene. NICE!" And the mission itself was basically the same mission to confront and defeat Protean.
If anyone was curious, the cutscene was rather... disappointing? Hm, I guess I was expecting something new and improved or something hilariously buggy. There were two extreme close ups: one of a wall, another of a poster. No dialogue. There were also two Proteans: one was an unkillable minion; the other was the regular EB. Just for giggles, I completed it, though it wouldn't let me try to save my clone. I couldn't turn in the mission either, so I used up an auto-complete. Then I got the final mission again for the bank, but this one was uncompleteable since it won't let you initiate the conversation with the bank teller.
I might wait three days now to see if I can auto-complete this just to see what happens.
I thought the whole thing was funny, but if you do this arc, be advised! You will probably be stuck! Though you can abandon it if you want to. -
I stuck to the lore for naming my SoAs, though I used less-common 'titles' since 'Arbiter' and 'Operative' are so ubiquitous.
Crab: Longfang Dyers
Bane: Executioner Trent
Now both are going through a rename because of advances to their individual stories.
Crab: He's dead so the toon is going to be recycled for an Arbiter character.
Bane: Operative Trent
Go go ubiquity. :P -

Quote:One person leaving can make a HUGE difference. I tend to hang out more on the red side of things, so I don't expect to anyone to know the names I'm tossing out, but I have been in groups that are cults of personality.I read the reason plenty well. I just have a hard time believing one person leaving matters so much. It lasted a year without him. What changed? Inactivity? Oh, how terrible.
Keep chugging. They'll come back, eventually. Or you'll find replacements. That's life, after all. Sometimes you have to go make new friends.
Arbiter Death founded the Villains of Paragon City, Shadow Spiders, and Starkweather Association. Large membership bases. Every.single.time he has taken a hiatus, I've noticed that people tend to fall away. The only reason the Shadow Spiders are still around (two years after he left!) is because several people wanted to keep the VG alive.
Not saying that this can't happen in the PK. But this is the reality of it: cults of personality exist. And sometimes, leaving behind a structured leadership is not enough. Unless you've left behind an ambitious leadership (or have ambitious elements in your general membership, in the case of the SS), one that is willing to reinvent the group, one who has even an ounce of the presence as the previous figurehead, it's not going to work because, sheesh, running a successful RP SG/VG is freakin' hard work.
And not everyone is willing to do that. -
Got a Fire/Kin Corr from 46 to 50, which was my goal.
Took my Prae-Dom from 10 to 26. So happy about that.
Then I helped a friend get his blaster from 3-24 in about an hour-and-a-half farming Lady Winter's snowmen. *sigh* Gonna miss those.
Ran mostly with guildies, but the PuGs I had were pretty smokin' too. -
Evil by Inches
@Oubliette

Description: When a sinister villain plots to infect the village of Astoria Hills and sets in motion a plot to unravel the very minds of Paragon City and shaking their trust to the core, proving even heroism can be turned to evil by degrees, especially when done in the name of the "greater good."
Very engaging story arc. I loved it. -
I'm running a friend through these arcs (and playing them for the third time myself). And I am a sad panda. Episodes 8, 10, 11 are completely missing!
Is there any way to get a new host for these arcs? Please? Please? Pretty please? *puppy eyes*
I'd just love for my friend to have the complete story... >_>
Okay, okay! I lied. I would like to re-read the entire story myself as well! It really is an enjoyable series. And like any good book, you can't skip a few chapters. -

This one was for @Mako, his character Lerezal Avalar.
I spent the longest time on the face and particularly the eyes, morphing it to get the shape just right. In the end, I think I like it.
Enjoy. -

A picture for the holidays. This one is for Unholy Wind, who specifically wanted Christmas pinup. XD -
I'll give it a go.
This is my main.
Markel Smythe
Level 50 Fire/Pain Corruptor
Played by @Sheyon
Bio: Markel is an ex-Legacy Chain mage who turned to dark magics to combat his wife's sickness. She ultimately died, and he was expelled from the Chain, both for his "heresy" and for killing someone in a fit of rage. Sentenced to life in the Zig, he was then drafted into Project DESTINY and found himself working for the now ex-Arachnos group, the Shadow Spiders. He currently leads them, trying to start a new life. -
You are still targetable by other players. So yeah, I imagine they can still see you if they have player names or healthbars on. I was hanging out with a group of friends at the time, and I saw that one of them was targeting me when I went invisible.
And you are not invisible only to you. One of my friends definitely had a WTF reaction when I did this in front of him. XD
Sorry about the exploit comment. Must've missed that. But considering the tests I've done, someone CAN still see you coming (name, healthbar, or some other extra buff). And believe me, your toggles or click powers or anything else with a visual effects will give you away. Shadow Meld doesn't really last that long, though, but I imagine it can still make a difference. Also consider, Shadow Meld is ONLY available to stalkers, so a good stalker shouldn't be relying on it anyway.* ;D
*I say that tongue-in-cheek; I'm clueless about Stalker PvP... :P -
As cool as an effect this is, I think it is potentially exploitative.
I have a DB/Dark stalker with Shadow Meld. With no buffs, activating Shadow Meld and performing an emote makes the wispy effect of the power go away and you will be COMPLETELY invisible. If you have buffs on you, only the buff will be visible. You are still targetable and such, but you have no visible trace whatsoever.
Haven't tried to reproduce it. Don't have another stalker that high yet. -
o hai
I thought I would plug some of my CoX art stuff. I'm into Poser! Well, DAZ Studio, but same difference! (But it's 3D rendered characters, for those of you who don't know.) :P
My tools are DAZ Studio, GIMP, and if I need to use a tablet, a Wacom Graphire4.
My VG-mates are kind enough to let me mangle their characters, so I practice on them. Soon, I'd like to get good enough to open for commissions and whatnot.
Anyhoo, onto the goods!

http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Markel_Darkweaver
This is my main character. Markel Darkweaver, Virtue Server. I am one of the leaders of the RP villain group, the Shadow Spiders. I've always wanted to commission a drawing of this guy, but I decided to see what I can come up with first. I plan to redo him when I get a chance.
http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Blood_Red_Rook
One of our officers, Blood Red Rook, and the in-game wife of Markel. ;D
The fact that it is a pin-up in something of an on-going joke in our group. She doesn't dress like this. XD
http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Dr._Von_Havencrabs
My fearless co-leader, Doctor Von Havencrabs. This is exactly something he would do ICly. :P
Also, I spent a long time working on that speedo!
http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Arren_Starkweather
Formerly Arren Starkweather, Arren Von Havencrabs, the adopted daughter of the good Doctor. The pin-ups became something of a trend. I plan to do something different for this character, again, when I get the chance.
http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Ilia_Dulmaire
My VG-mates started requesting, so I decided to steer away from pin-ups of random members, unless specifically requested. This one is for Ilia Dulmaire, renegade Fateweaver.
My latest addition, Alondra Swift.

The closest I came to killing one of my characters was killing a copy.
It was part of a storyline were a number of people in our VG were captured and replaced with Nemesis clones. Yes, clones, because for storyline purposes, we wanted them to be as indistinguishable as possible from the real thing. Memories, flesh, magic auras, ect. all had to be intact. My character is one of the leaders in the VG and he was replaced.
His duplicate was found out and the rest of the VG decided to keep him alive to torture him for information. Well, during the course of that RP, his programming became mucked and he began thinking he was the real thing. Does this story arc sound familiar? ;D
But it presented some very hard choices for the rest of the gang, who found it increasingly difficult to go through with their course of action. He looks like him, he sounds like him, he thinks like him, and he doesn't know WHY his own family is torturing him. But he had to be killed off, because looking ahead to the end of the RP, there was simply no room for him and the real thing.
It was a very emotional RP, not only for me, but for everyone else. I played him exactly like the real thing, so they couldn't help but see their leader, their lover, their father-figure expire. I could almost visibly see their resolve to find the others strengthen ten-fold. They vowed "never again."
But as for me, I found out that I am quite attached to my character, so if he dies, it will probably be years down the road and off-screen. But this gave me a chance to explore what that might've looked like without permanently affecting my main's ability to breathe. -
Name: Shadow Spiders
Recruiting: Always!
RP Level: Very Heavy; VG chat is in-character; we RP most nights
PvP Level: Casual
Leadership: Markel Darkweaver, Doc Von Havencrabs, Operative Griffin
In-Game Contact(s): @Sheyon
VirtueVerse page: Link
The Shadow Spiders are always looking for active roleplayers to fill our ranks and add to the community we have created! Though we have only been around for a few months, we have a very active roster and a rich RP history.
Most of our members are HEAVILY involved in RP, but some nights we just like to kick our heels back in a farm or an in-character ITF. If you have a storyline you would like to get off the ground, you will find that our members are very open and friendly and are usually more than willing to get involved!
We originally started out as an Arachnos villain group, but through in-game events, we have completely severed our ties with Lord Recluse. We are currently a paramilitary organization, but our RP is flexible enough to encompass most character types. Rogue operatives, freelancers, mercenaries, scientists, even mystics are welcome to join.
For more information, contact any of the characters listed above or visit our VirtueVerse page!
