Shadow Meld

As cool as an effect this is, I think it is potentially exploitative.

I have a DB/Dark stalker with Shadow Meld. With no buffs, activating Shadow Meld and performing an emote makes the wispy effect of the power go away and you will be COMPLETELY invisible. If you have buffs on you, only the buff will be visible. You are still targetable and such, but you have no visible trace whatsoever.

Haven't tried to reproduce it. Don't have another stalker that high yet.

Does it do it in a PvP zone?

What about player_name or health bars? I usually have my options to "Always Show," so I'd probably still notice floating words coming nearby. lol

On a side note, if you really think it's an exploit, you aren't suppose to advertise it here, but quietly bring it to a Dev's attention instead.

If you're only going completely invisible on your own screen, it's just an animation bug. It happens with some powers and it makes for some laughs. If you're going completely invisible as someone else sees you, though, that could be a problem. I don't think that's the case, however.

Aye. I always have Player Names set to show, and when selected, I see the AT & Origin Icons, HP & EP Bars, Titles, and SG. That option has been there for as long as I've been playing, and is why I called shenanigans when someone once asked about being able to cusomtize the looks of their MM Pets, and a redname (I no longer remember who) said, and this is a paraphrase, "No, because in PvP, all someone has to do is make their thugs look the same as them, and then they can hide in the middle, and you'll never know they're there.".

You are still targetable by other players. So yeah, I imagine they can still see you if they have player names or healthbars on. I was hanging out with a group of friends at the time, and I saw that one of them was targeting me when I went invisible.

And you are not invisible only to you. One of my friends definitely had a WTF reaction when I did this in front of him. XD

Sorry about the exploit comment. Must've missed that. But considering the tests I've done, someone CAN still see you coming (name, healthbar, or some other extra buff). And believe me, your toggles or click powers or anything else with a visual effects will give you away. Shadow Meld doesn't really last that long, though, but I imagine it can still make a difference. Also consider, Shadow Meld is ONLY available to stalkers, so a good stalker shouldn't be relying on it anyway.* ;D

*I say that tongue-in-cheek; I'm clueless about Stalker PvP... :P
