  1. Wait, what? Me too now. I swear it just popped up!
  2. It's live in the store right now, but if you don't have 800 points, you're gonna have to wait until the maintenance on the plaync site is finished to buy some!
  3. IT'S LIVE!

    The SKU has been found!

BUT I CAN'T BUY ANY POINTS.

    AND IT'S 800 OF THEM.

    NOOOOOOOOO!
  4. Oh god this is the most frustrating tease ever.

  6. I have a character who... thinks a little differently (he's mad).

    He understands Dillo.

The text says he doesn't, I say he does.

I ignore the text and just say "Nah, Havelock doesn't say that, he knows exactly what you *hoorb* mean."

Vaguely irritating to have to do that, but, it doesn't affect me that much.
  7. I demand that we be allowed to use free players as mounts in compensation.
  8. So my girlfriend got it to work by transferring the old Test files she hadn't updated in a while from our laptop to her CoH folder and allowing it to update.

    What. The. Heck?
  9. My girlfriend is suffering from this problem, luckily for her, I'm not, so she can use my computer to play.

This is really distressing though, I've tried everything I can think of to try and work around this and nothing has worked.

    You referring to this?

My guess is it's one of those three, and I wouldn't be surprised if our actions during the arc are what decides who dies.

If who dies is a set thing,, then my money's on BaBs.

    400 quatloos on BABs.

His zone is gone and he doesn't give a taskforce, easiest one to remove without changing a shedload of content.
  13. I have a dude called Hammersmith who is currently Mace/Shield.

    It doesn't feel right.

If we get a massive sledgehammer, he's being remade.

I'd say giving male characters access to the Armor boot is a lot less gender-bending than stuff like male shoulder kittens and females chomping cigars. That;s why I dont think it would be a stretch to make it happen for us. What do you say, developers...? Pwwwweeeeeeaaaaaaseeeee?????!!
I know more women who smoke cigars than men.

And I want a shoulder kitty damn it.

Thing is, none of these options are 'gender bending' in the slightest.

But then, I want male skirt options, though I'd only use long skirts.

The Competition allows for male skirt options, I wish my favourite super hero mmo did too.

When you go to move back, you now have to come up with a new name. A couple of bouts of that, and the willingness to hop servers is going to come to a screeching halt for most players.
You could just check the name isn't taken before you move.

Did you miss the bit where he said you don't even need to spend the tokens to unlock it? You did quote it:

You don't even need to spend these Reward tokens to get the unlock. Of course, you can always unlock them early by buying them on the Paragon Market.

My friends account isnt active right now and he plans on returning pretty quick here as a free player for little bit then move up to VIP but once he starts playing as a free account he will pick the two toons he wants to play on EACH sever? and once he picks 2 toons the rest get deleted?????
    No.

2 toons TOTAL + 2 if he bought Going Rogue, +1 for any slots he's bought and +1 for every year he's subbed.

Possibly + 2 for issue 12, dunno yet, haven't had a definitive yes or no on that. Probably not though.

It is NOT 2 toons per server.

    * What happens if you are Premium, assign slots, go VIP, then back to Premium?

Currently, in this scenario you will be able to reassign your slots, but ONLY on the same server you assigned them to when you were Premium.

    * Is there a "reset my selections" option?

Not currently, other than the "within the same server" scenario above. This may be something we consider as a future feature if demand is high enough.

    * Player makes a Free account, creates a character on Server A, finds out his friends are on Server B, is there a way to move slots?

No, but in this scenario Player has two choices: Server transfer the character(s) (making them a Premium player in the process) or simply start another Free-level account (giving them 2 slots to assign to whatever server they wish).

    * Can a VIP player reassign their slots?

    No.

    * Does a VIP player get to reassign their slots if they dropped down to Premium (allowing them to choose what characters to play and what servers) and then goes back to VIP?

Going back to VIP in this case will revert your slot assignments to what they were when you were last VIP. Characters over 12 on a server where you did not have slots will be locked.

    * What happens to characters that are NOT unlocked when I assign my slots?

They are kept around, waiting to be unlocked.

Finally, I am stealing Chad Guzlow-man's list because I love it so much:

If you are not paying for your account in City of Heroes Freedom, this is how many characters you'll have access to:
    • BASE FREE/PREMIUM ACCOUNT: 2 characters, total
    • OWN GOING ROGUE BEFORE FREEDOM LAUNCH: Add 2 more characters
    • PER YEAR OF PAST SUBSCRIPTION: Add 1 character per year
    • PER PURCHASED CHARACTER SLOT (beyond standard 12 per server): Add 1 character per slot purchased

If you are paying your subscription come City of Heroes Freedom, this is how many characters you'll have access to:
    • VIP ACCOUNT: 12 characters PER SERVER total (these are not moveable/transferrable. They are always unlocked on every server, just like today)
    • OWN GOING ROGUE BEFORE FREEDOM LAUNCH: Gain 2 more character slots
    • PER YEAR OF PAST SUBSCRIPTION: Add 1 character per year
    • PER PURCHASED CHARACTER SLOT (beyond standard 12 per server): Add 1 character per slot purchased
    • Other bonuses possible (+2 for being an i12 subscriber, etc.)
Nothing changes about your character options between being a subscriber now and being a subscriber when Freedom launches. (You WILL get access to the new VIP server, which means you'll be able to create 12 more characters if you desire.)
Thanks for the clarification, just one more question though. Do the 2 slots we got in Issue 12 count amongst the slots we're give as Premium players?

Okay, stop, you're speaking for the rednames when you don't actually have any right to, these are just your opinions based on how you believe it should work.

Complete and utter hogwash. I mean this involved some pretty damned dirty hogs at that.

You paid for all those aforementioned things with a clear understanding of what you would get.

Those boxes coupled with a monthly subscription guaranteed you the game and the add-ons.

Now that they offer a new option where you get stuff for free, you have to understand that anything they decide to give you is a freebie. They have no onus to satisfy more desire for free stuff. You got exactly what you paid for at the time, and nobody deceived you in the least about what you were buying. To claim you will be paying twice for something is a complete fabrication.
Except they've already stated that anything you paid for, you will keep a a Premium player. Your rather harsh mindset isn't shared by the devs. Good thing to or people would stop giving them money full stop instead of using the store to buy more things.

    Quote:
You already got what you paid for just as much as someone who quit before COH:Freedom got what they paid for and stopped getting access when they stopped subscribing. Your inability to comprehend the idea that the game existed on a subscription model (and still will), and purchases in that context are relevant only to that model means you are showing entitlement mentality.
Nothing you just said is of any relevance. The devs have said that if you bought something, you keep it. So all those boosters I got are going to be available to me as a Premium player, as such, I would like to know what other things I paid for will be available to me.

    Quote:
Anything the company is giving you for free is a gift. It is a kindness on their part (or a marketing trick if you want to see it that way). Looking askance on free stuff is plain whiny.
It's not a gift if you paid money for it. If there was no premium membership then you'd have a point, but there is and it allows for those of us without a sub to buy what we want, when we want.

The sub used to count for access to the game, now it counts for lots of extra goodies since they made access to the game free. Those of us without a sub get to access the game and do without the extra goodies a VIP gets unless we buy them.

We just want to know what we've bought.

But keep on with the entitlement fallacy, it's great fun to read.
