It has been mentioned this will include being able to re-do some of your own stories with an automatic exemplar. It's always such a high getting to level (and getting cool new powers) I tend not to exemp that often. Will ALL the "relive major events" be related to your own personal storyline, thus requiring an exemp for ALL protions of the Ouroboros system. If it's all a great big exemp-fest, I'll be dissaponted. If, on the other hand, I can go back and be involved in some of the classic CoX mythology, that will be cool.

I’m guessing an alternate timeline/reality kind of thing. Someone is messing with time (if I had to guess I’d say Nemesis). Teams will somehow (as part of a task force) end up in this alternate timeline. There will be no contacts, and heroes/villains will be somewhat rare (i.e. instead of npc’s ignoring people with superpowers and capes, they’d all be stopping and saying “wow a superhero). Your team will make up a large percentage of superheroes on the planet. Your goal will be to set time right again.


Or wait…we’re playing it right now! Time as changed and CoH is only a game not reality (as it’s supposed to be). All these “clues” are being left by people (devs) who somehow know (at least in part) that time has been messed with (maybe they were on the scene when it happened) and are working to let us know time is broken! I KNEW there was something wrong with reality!

Either that or it’s Cloverfield. On 01-18-08 we’re going to have to fight a giant monster in NYC after it rips the head of the Statue of Liberty.

I got it. It's all realted to Cloverfield. We will all get to fight the monster in 01-18-08!. And, all our characters will be in the Movie!

Seriously though, what kind of Superhero doesn't have a time travel adventure?

Just another minor update; no new artwork, but one character has been deleted (The NEW Vis Mortua) and a new character has been made in his spot (Vis Gnaritas). The link is in the sig.




I’m a weird kind of player. The story of the characters is as important to me as the kind of character (sometimes more). For instance, I stubbornly keep jump kick for Vis Viva since I do not consider his EM power to just be “magic hands”. In my story the energy runs through his whole body, giving him a kind of super strength (which he has to focus or “turn on”) coupled with a nice little energy “zap” Anyway, the jump-kick shows the power to be in another part of his body. I do have to go through some contortions of logic, however, to explain why he has fly instead of super-jump.

I had originally created Vis Mortua when there was no CoV, and when CoV came out I considered making him a full-fledged villain. I made him a stalker, however, and When I created Id Viva, I found myself more interested in playing her than him (she’s and EM, EA stalker and he was an Dark stalker). The original Vis Mortua is also a Dark, but a dark armor scrapper feels different enough from my other scrappers (such as Katerina and King Viva) to be at least a little interesting. I kinda hate playing anti-hero types though, so I may have to alter his bio a bit to make redemptions more of a theme. I gotta think of doing something about Aviv Siv though. I have another EM/Inv Brute, so that makes it kind of boring, but I like having a weird Bizzaro-like character in the mix. Perhaps I’ll make re-do him with electrical armor. Having a scrapper with armor that does damage in an interesting alternative to other scrappers, so perhaps the same will be true of brutes. I LOVE his bio though. Interstingly, I find playing my EM/Inv Brute different enough from my Inv/EM Tank to be interesting, while still having some feelings of familiarity.

I updated the Vis Viva family webpage a bit. Id Viva (last woman on bottom row) has been updated a bit. Check out her screenshots page. Note the proper cleav…..I mean cape (as opposed to the one shoulder cape) she’s showing off with her new fly poses. She has a 3rd costume slot (3 slots at lvl 20 thanks to Halloween) and now has some normal street clothes. Notice her flirting with a random frat boy. Actually she was just flipping a coin, but you can hardly notice the coin. IT looks more like she’s twirling her hair.

P.S. As a serious alt-aholic, these are only my infinity toons. I've got toons on every server (105 or so toons). All of them with bios.

Are there any "reverse" recipe guides out there? By that I mean are there any guides, which state in what recipes given items are used.

I just came into some Pangean Soil. In trying to find what it’s used in, so far I’ve only found Aegis: Resistance. Backwards searching is not very efficient, and a reverse guide might be useful in deciding if you want to keep or sell a given item.

That's what all the popular kids tell me. Maybe I should take up smoking. Then I'd be cool and everybody would like me.

For now. They're working on dealing with some camera bugs related to the poses, as well as making the poses selectable. They'll be back at an unknown date in the future.

[/ QUOTE ]I would like to comment that , in my opinion, the new flight animations (I did get to play with them for one day) were the 2nd best aesthetic improvment to the game (capes being #1). I hope to see them as soon as humanly possible.

So here is some artwork a buddy of mine has done featuring some of the primary members of the Vis Viva family . I’m very happy about it. Feel free to check out the Vis Viva family webpage to see the screenshots of the characters. He chose to depict Vis Viva as rather large (even though he is not “male” not “gargantuan”). He used to play the game, so I guess he thinks all Tanks SHOULD be gargantuan characters. Also, he chose to depict them with one of their alternate costumes so you have to go to the screen shots sub-page to see screens of those costumes. My buddy is going to do another version with Vis Viva and Vis Vivette in the original costume (since that can more or less be done with JUST a re-color as where the other toons costumes would require a more drastic change).

Between all the normal powers and all the vet rewards, Vis Viva's powers do not fit on his ID anymore. As a result, on the Vis Viva family web page , the ID's are gone. They have been replaced by "Personal Info". There are also new screen shots (lots of new costumes) which includes winter outfits. Also, Visceral V is gone, and a new angelic character, Vis Gloria has taken his place. Check it out.

As for what i look like, well, I look a bit like this only i have a slightly smaller head (just a touch though) and my eyes are just a bit smaller in rl, and I actually do have fingers, and I have a slightly longer body, and my feet... um... okay, how about this? Granted its not me, it's my main but I did use my self as a model for her (which probably doesn't bode well for me as a man... but she's not very womanly either!). So, ya, I do have some similarities to Abby... a lot actually, though my hair's black... or some other color... and, what? I don't have any photos of me, I'm not a freak who's in love with himself, gah! um... not that any of you are... um... I'm making a lot of enemies, aren't I? Ya... I'm just.. gonna shut up now... and bar my door.

It’s funny you bring up the pants thing. I’m 37. Kids were doing the low pants thing when I was in high school.

<rant>Why has the asinine trend not died yet?!?! Seriously, the competing trend that came out at the same time was wearing your pants backwards. Remember how long ago that was. Thank God it lasted about 5 minutes. I went out with a girl who was trying to start a trend of wearing your pants inside out (it never took). I really want to start spreading the information that old guys my age did that at ~17 years old (though I was never stupid enough to do it myself) thus it cannot possibly be cool. Other then the basic idea of wearing blue jeans and leather jackets, has any other clothing trend lasted ~20yrs (especially one this flat out stupid)? I cannot think of very much I saw on "Happy Days" that kids were still doing while I watched the show. </rant>

Hot on the heels of the "do you look like your character" thread, which is still going strong (I for one am waiting to see who CuppaRowr is doing a digital painting of) is the "who would you be" thread.

If you had to wake up one morning as one of your characters, who would it be, and why? Besides being a superhero, is the character's life in any way similar to yours or very different? Are all your characters too superhero-tragic? Are they all misshapen freaks? Is one totally cool and really lucky and you'd love to be him/her? Are you a 40-year-old 250lb 5'4" Linux programmer; your character is a 6'2" totally hot chick with claws and a tail and you DO want to be her?

For me, it wouldn’t be too bad to be Vis Viva. The 14 years in a coma would suck (see link below for character bios), but my wife created Caterina and my daughter created Little Viva, so I assume they would be there in that reality too. Check the link out below, I mean seriously check out the link below, who could object to being married to Caterina. My daughter would have to skip head a few years in age, but most kids her age would love to be teen-agers. That and the superpowers would probably make it an easy sell for her. Vis has had about as much luck in his scientific career as I have (no large scale explosions though) so that would be an even trade. I probably make a little more money then him, but he has a rich sister to sponge off (mine works for the phone company). I could deal with the shame of sponging off a rich sibling if I spent a lot of my time saving the city. Chicago is cool architecture, but Paragon has way cooler statuary (the way elevators work in the office buildings HAS to go though). Yea, it would be okay to be Vis Viva. Being Aviv Siv though, that would suck.
