Quote:Now we just need Jeremy Clarkson to read those lines like he would for a Stig intro and it would be pure gold. Some experts suggest it was the wizard Thaumatorr, in the game Ultima Online on the third day of release. Others argue that the practice predates MMOs and goes back to some of the first MUDs, and credit a warrior named Krag the Merciless.
Still others say that the practice even predates online gaming, and that a halfling thief named Stumblefingers should be credited with the first "congrats", which he said (verbally) to his D&D compatriot Eunice Beauregard McGillicutty the Third, a cleric, during a tabletop RPG session in 1979.

My General Tips:
- Paragonwiki is your friend
- Don't be afraid to ask Questions
- Always run through the Tutorial (either side), it's worth the time
- You don't need Sprint on all the time
- Have your Pre-reque Travel Power chosen at 8, 10, or 12. So you can take your Travel Power at 14
- The Fitness Pool is your friend as well
I think that's about it.

I did notice one series on the list that shouldn't be on there.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Not because it isn't a wonderful show, but because it isn't an actual anime series. It has anime influences, but it was developed and produced in the US for US viewers.
Now unless Dark One want's to expand the scope and just turn this into a General Animation Recommendation thread, I'd be cool with that.
The reason I bring this up is there is a bit of a discussion that kinda derailed this thread about how the series should be defined as.

Oh for the love of...
Took you long enough Steel.
Funny as always though...

Commented, Faved, Rated, and D/Ling it off your site.
What else can I say Michelle...
Very nicely done.

Last Exile is:
One part Steampunk
One part Air Combat
One part Napoleonic (Solider Line formations firing from Air ships using pressurized rifles)
One part Gonzo's nice way of working 2D/CGI together
All in all a wonderful show. I already +1ed it in my earlier post in this thread.
EDIT
Forgot Lord Mayhem's other Q...
The Main Characters (Claus & Lavie), as well as Alvis are Kids. Claus & Lavie are mid-teens, Alvis is 11.
The majority of the rest of the cast is older (Late Teens - 20's). A part of this might be in Range Murata's Character Designs. His style takes a bit of getting used to.
/EDIT
Now if I can only find my Collection of that series...
Been meaning to watch it through again.

Quote:That's basically it. You go from a hero to whatever the less heroic hero is to whatever the less villainous villain is to a villain and back again.
Actually to be more precise, the Going Rogue pattern is (Starting Hero-side):
Hero ---> Vigilante ---> Villain ---> Rogue ---> Hero
From the HeroCon stuff, It sounds like two distinct StoryArcs going each direction (Hero/Vigilante/Villain & Villain/Rogue/Hero).
Now as to what the OP is looking for(World PvP and World Safeguard/Mayhem function), I'd have to /unsign on the first and /maybe on the second.
I myself am not a PvPer and would rather not be forced into it if I could avoid it. This general viewpoint is shared a by a large amount of the forums and in-game as well.
As to adding a broader level of destructible environments to the regular zones? That is something I could deal with. With the nature of some of the AoE and ST powers that are in-game, I'm surprised we don't have more uprooted Trees, destroyed lampposts, powerpoles, and Tram supports. But then, I enjoy a good bout of Collateral Damage every now and again.

It's funny. A few weeks back, a Banner Event triggered in Atlas on Virtue I happened upon. What surprised me was how quickly after I /b asked if there were any teams forming that a couple of teams slowly got together and got the event completed.
In all honesty, that one was one of the most enjoyable Banner Events I've run. Got all 6 badges, Seduction, and had a blast helping explain the event to some who hadn't seen it before.
And to be honest, I'd rather see a Banner trig than a Zombie Event. I can still travel and the like with no worries about Zombies popping up when I get to my location and get alphaed before getting into the mission.

On just what the OP mentioned, I don't think I would.
As to the thought of a purchase-based Base Booster? I don't think the revenue would warrant the time and effort to go about doing it.
While I do a lot of Base tweaking and the like, and I'm sure there's a good number of players that do, Base Builders are like PVPers. In that they are a small portion of the overall playerbase. While there has been progress in Base editing and some improved functionality, It's not a 'Major' point with the Devs right now. Post-GR, who knows?

Quote:I am gonna say this right here and now...JE Saist, AE was advertised as an alternate leveling path from level 1-50. It just was. On the AE Edition boxes, it was specifically listed as such.
So, if people want to use it to level from 1-50, it should remain so.
Takes a look at his physical box of Architect Edition
Nowhere on the box is there any mention of any kind of alternate leveling path. All that is mentioned is that players can create missions and storyarcs with the City of Heroes community.
Any other claims about alternate leveling paths came from either interviews or other things, not the retail box!
As to the OP's suggestion, AE is fine for the most part right now, IMHO. Are there tweaks and features that could/should be added? Yes. But it's working fine now as the Devs intended.

Quote:You know what I wish this game had as a feature?
And maybe this would be too difficult to engineer at this point but, I wish there was a game-to-Web digesting function. This function would scan all the registered characters on all the servers, give us a full body screenshot of each and output all the bios, or lack thereof, to text on Web pages. Then I could see who had the cool bios and cool designs without all the clicking and crowd watching I sometimes wish I had the time to do in the game.
Not really a formal suggestion. Just a vague idea really.
The Devs had something like that in mind..
It was called the City Vault. Link to the Pargonwiki page on it.
But as of now it's Shelved.

Of my Characters, I'd say not even 10% of them have a Bio description of any kind. A good number of my Characters have something of a background mentally though.
/side track - rant
While I understand the desire for the Bio box, I personally don't care for it generally. I know I've upset a number of RPers with the previous statement.
While sometimes I find the Bios given interesting, if I look at them, It's just one extra tab I click on when I'm looking at a Character's Info.
I guess my feeling about this also stems from players who run Costume Contests and require Bios as part of how they judge entrants. How does a Bio help with the costume? It doesn't!
The Bio just a RP tool that has nothing to with a Characters visual aspect, which is what a costume contest is about.
/side track - rant
For me, a bio is usually the last, if even considered, thing when I create a Character. What draws me to creating a Character is usually a visual thing or a powerset makeup that sparks interest to me. That to me is more important than a 1024 Character description.

Oh, I know! I'd like an /em videocamera, please!
It's just a stocking stuffer when compared to modifying Shield Charge, several GOING ROGUE teasers (that aren't mine), three GR Beta Invites, a pony, Lightning Reflexes and Quick Recovery on Warshades, a cheeseburger, hotdog, fries and a milkshake, more than five people on a given EU server, a puppy, less stupid mobs, Scrapper damage/taunt auras, more GR character profiles, a Red Ryder BB gun temp power (twice), cross-server teaming, Penelope Yin going on a date with the Clockwork King, a second and cooler Magic booster, Devouring Earth Christmas Trees of Stealthy Doom, purple recipes, Perez Park experiencing nuclear winter, a toboggan temp power, Miladys_Knight's two front teeth, Ms. Liberty's phone number, and Chris_Zuercher's eye after it's been shot out by the Red Ryder BB Gun temp power.

There is also the optionset noxp slash command.
I use them as two Macros in my Tray 4...

/macro NXP optionset noxp 1 (XP off)

Quote:One small thing I wish they could correct. When you talk to the City Representative to enter the room with the capsule, she tells you that the room is just down the hall. My character was sent to another building in Atlas Park. Probably a bug.
Yes, I tend to think it is a bug as well..
But what I would like to see out of it is a point in City Hall, that leads to a non-instanced version of the Capsule.
My thoughts here is since you earn a souvenir (SPOILER: It's Hero1's letter) from this mission, It could server as a unlock to a area of City Hall that has the Capsule Room in place. I would think of it as a nice thank you.
Otherwise...
Ran it on a Lvl 35 Scrapp I have and loved it. Now this'll make me wonder if we have Rikti in the 20-25 Range or Lost or the two new missions?
All in all I liked it. A nice update to a checkpoint in a Hero's Career.

Discalimer: At the time I'm posting this thread, I'm rather tired and not in a mood to try and do a through search on the following subject.
Now then...
I have some questions concerning the Options and Widows setting files that can be created through the options window.
Mainly can the options file be modified to use the windowscale command for things like the power trays and the like?
I have switched from a regular flat panel to a widescreen monitor and I am going to be resetting a number of things on every character. I just want to try to streamline the process as much as I can.

But you only get Inf/XP/Prestige from the combat mission. True you also get Salvage, Inf, and the Recipe you choose, but those get burned for crafting, so that's a zero-sum right there.
Otherwise you don't get anything for running the Invention Tutorial except the related badge. And to be honest, I wouldn't care for a badge after running through the AE Tour.

I think my Sig shows where I stand.

I'll agree that the amount of Boss Spawns this year are a 'little' much.
From my overall experiences, I'd say I was hitting a Boss Spawn (Crone or Lord Vamp) while Soloing (+0/x0 or 1) at least 30% of the time. On my 20 and under Characters, the Boss Spawn itself is doable. But pair it with a Lt. of any kind, it gets down right difficult (I'd faceplant maybe 66 - 75% of the time...).
Now I'm not saying it's an entirely bad thing. But if the extra Lt. didn't spawn with a Boss, that would be nice.

While submitted in the Official contest, here's mine:
Arc Name: Magic, Mystery, and Mayhem
Arc ID: 5299
Faction: Heroic; Custom (With CoT splash in one Mission) Villains and Ally
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Travlr
Difficulty Level: Medium, I'd say. Some amount of Mezz. 2 'Boss' and 1 EB in Missions 3 & 4. I'd pack a extra BF or two...
Synopsis:
You would think being a hero in Paragon City would prepare you for all sorts of Criminals. But robbers dressed like they belong in a Magic Show? Seems that the Midnighters don't think it's so entertaining. Think you have what it takes to match wits with The Mystery Magician?
My overall goal is to try and give the Arc a feel as if it was a regular in-game Arc.

We have another Halloween Event test tomorrow at 11:00 AM Pacific / 2:00 PM Eastern to 1:00 PM Pacific / 4:00 PM Eastern on the North American Training Room.
If anything other than that was tweaked and didn't break anything else, I'll be happy. We'll see tomorrow afternoon, won't we.

EDIT:
I'll have to check the other thread, I didn't make the test today 'cause of Family related stuff.
But did the bolded part of the above quote get fixed? -
