  1. I have 3 BOTZ in my Shadow Step as well as quite a bit of recovery bonuses. The end cost isn't terrible but after a while it can be a bit steep. Good thing the first thing I usually do when I get where I'm going is use Eclipse anyways.

Don't tell me what is or isn't for me. What you are doing now is putting your fingers in your ears and saying "LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU." I'm not attacking anything, I was explaining why PBAOE knockback for players and pseudo pets is not good design. I wasn't saying "all knockback is evil."

The problem with this has been hashed and rehashed. There is no version of Luminous Blast that doesn't have KB, and unlike any Blaster secondary, you can't play Luminous Aura without taking Luminous Blast. I've said a million times that the KB in at least Photon Seekers and Solar Flare are not a good design. I can see keeping the KB in Nova AOE's, and the human TAOE/Cone, since the KB in all those powers can be used for deliberate mitigation, however Solar Flare can't be used deliberately- Or rather, the situations where it can are few and far between, and Photon Seekers KB can never be used deliberately unless you just get lucky (or you're on a very specific part of a map.) That is not good design imo.

Also, the ST KB is problematic since between Dwarf and human melee attacks, it's counter-intuitive to knock single targets away from you if it prevents you from being able to fluently use your other ST powers. Warshades suffer from this with Shadow Blast also, but that KB doesn't seem to happen nearly as often.

  5. Whenever I think of something so ridiculous I should never reasonably make it, I just do it anyways.

I used to have a Spines/Elec Scrapper named Mapserver Man who never got past level 4.

I also have a level 20 DP/Time Corruptor named Syntax Shot... His info says "I have come from the future to correct your grammar."

No one seemed to enjoy teaming with those characters for some reason.

You mean like the one time those Kheldian fools thought they could do the Keyes trial on a Saturday?

Seriously though... I want to set up a Kheldians vs. Tyrant trial on Freedom when i23 comes out. We need to pay our respects to the rightful ruler of the galaxy before we take him out.

Yep I'm replacing a 6 slotted Obliteration set with a non-Superior version of the new Kheld set (unless the recharge bonus is less than 10% catalyzed, otherwise it's a conflict.)

This will serve the purpose of retaining the recharge and melee defense from Oblit, and it'll also let me pull a Stupefy piece from Gravitic Emanation since the new Kheld set gives an identical ranged defense bonus. In the end this means I save a slot to put elsewhere and retain my high global recharge and 32.5% defense to all positions.

I'm probably going to use it to get an Accuracy IO back into Eclipse, or a toxic damage proc back on the end of Shadow Blast... Haven't decided yet.

Also to answer the question, the form shift animations aren't worth sacrificing all the positional defense I have on my human Warshade. Now when toggle suppression happens I will be in respec mode for sure.

Yeah you can. My Peacebringer does this, and it's just as doable with a Warshade build. PM me if you still need help.

Edit: It won't be *to all,* but you'll be able to do it for s/l. It's not practical to try and get greedy on a tri form build until toggle suppression happens, at which point it will get kind of silly since Dwarf will be your "quick Mire" form and human will be your tank form.

From Princess Darkstar, because Princess Darkstar wouldn't.

You shouldn't need to ever pick up someone elses slack and I (and presumably everyone else) wouldn't feel comfortable taking anything from you. It's not your responsibility... Very sweet of you though.

The fact that ill/xx can solo gms and plant/xxx can do this or that has less to do with the primary than the secondary. An elec/time troller can solo +4/8 ITF, I have a hunch that it's not all because of elec...

Not saying that ice couldn't use a little help but with IOs one can make a pretty impressive ice/xxx troller/dom.
The point is that Illusion as a set adds much more offensively than Ice could hope to conjure whilst providing competitive if not outright superior control- Same could be said for Plant and Mind, being the top tier sets.

Kheldian Fridays has its home on Protector but many of us also have a presence on Freedom (and Dechs is on Virtue, all by himself... Probably roleplaying that he's on Freedom. )
  14. Aww man. No one found anything to argue with or call stupid in my suggestion.. Must be a good post in the "For Fun!" section.

(Yeah, I know. I'm antagonizing the roleplayers and SO-builders. For fun!)

  15. Aww, you beat me! Haha, I wasn't online for a couple of days, I had some crap come up. I even prepared for this duel... I even bought all the supplies that I'd need to cheat my way through beating you.

AA is a freaking awesome control power with no real recharge once you tame it: it's built for steam rolling. Mind Control, not so much.
And when a Perma-PA, Perma Heat Loss Phantom/Ice Troller jumps in, do you really think that your high end Ice Controller can compete? What results would you be paying for, and what feats could you match exactly?

I'm only judging the set by the standards that other sets for the AT have set. Illusion solos GM's efficiently. Plant farms 54x8 competitively with high end melee sets. If the set can't compete at the high end of accomplishments and the efficiency with which they were achieved, it can't compete at the high end, period.. Which makes it at the best, a silver medal set, at least from my perspective. I personally find Ice to be low enough end that it can't compete with the majority of other sets...

And yes, I know that the purpose of a control set is control, not damage or solo feats. The thing is that other control sets are not justifiably better or worsen than the high end sets at control; And the high end sets who can also perform the aforementioned ridiculous feats lead to the lowered status of the rest.

    Player's Summit

I will pay someone like.. I dunno, 300 million infamy to start a new thread and consistently update the OP with nothing but vital and relevant information that's released during the summit*

Oh, and a bonus 200 million inf. if you can keep your thread devoid of "" faces, Golden Girl posts, and generally people sniping at and arguing with each other for pages on end about disagreements they had about stuff/things that I don't care about.

    Deal?

  20. @Oedipus I don't doubt that the set can perform to a reasonable standard, because everything in the game can. COH is very balanced in that respect, I don't think that anything is ever truly terrible... It's just that some sets are so good/so much better than others in comparison and that's what leads to things like me calling sets like Ice Control "bronze medal" sets. I'm sure that a good player who's experienced with it can do great things with it, but c'mon. We have Illusion, Mind, Plant, etc.

With EB level regen, why has this TF not been soloed regularly?? My experience has always been that weakened hami regens faster than that but I hope you are right. Maybe if a few of you guys want to pad for me prior to the run this Friday, we can race Septipheran solo VS. Kheld Fridays on a LGTF Maybe a fair stipulation would be that I can stealth/speed and you guys can't. Do you accept?

A deck of cards? I mean, that'd be great and all. But if marketing really wanted me to spend money, they'd save the card theme for a melee secondary (somehow) or an epic power pool. So that I'd have a reason to buy Staff Fighting. And the card set, wherever it goes. So that I could play Staff/Cards. No reason.

  25. I just lead some quick Apex/Tin Mage runs after... Way too long. I love these TF's, but with them being the intro to Incarnate content I'd love to see the Incarnate Trial UI box added to them- For me personally, the best use out of this would be targeting BM at the end of Apex. I'm so spoiled by trials and I found myself wanting to just click her name in a UI box rather than scanning my screen with my eyes to locate and target her.

I just think that at least for this purpose (as well as I'm sure, countless other purposes throughout the TF's for people who are new to them) this would be a welcome and appreciated feature.
