  1. To be fair, this is the only time ParagonWiki has ever misled me, and @StarGeek replied to every single one of my frivolous questions in the 'help' channel when i first started playing a few months ago, so this one instance of poor wording is easily forgiven.
  2. Ah, I didn't know what Oz was. XD Thanks for the info, the info on ParagonWiki combined with the fact that I happened to be in Ouro lead me to believe that I had something to rabble about. Thanks for the help again.
  3. From ParagonWiki:

    Quote:
The character can now create a third build to utilize the Alpha Slot Ability or respec one of his other builds to take advantage of it.

    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Alpha_Slot

I opened my Incarnate window, found the ability I created, right clicked it and went to 'slot' and nothing happened. I believe I was standing in Ouroboros.
  4. Hi all,

I just crafted my tier one alpha ability and based on what I've read I either need to respec or start a new build... The problems I have with that are I've already dumped a bunch of time and influence into my current build, I don't team very often so that makes respec trials a pain, and I've already done the redside patron arc for the respec. Now, if I'm able to switch back to redside and do that arc again, that won't be a giant problem, but I'm assuming it's impossible...

I really hope there is some big misunderstanding here, because I sort of feel like I'm being strong armed into buying a respec token. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.
  5. I was waiting for a tell. :/
  6. I could really use this set, but I have almost nothing to offer for it aside from less 20 million infamy and my undying gratitude . My friend here will explain.

  7. That's what I thought, thanks. I've been reading through a lot of the Kheldian guides in the stickied thread and it seems like most people recommend picking up super speed, so I grabbed it as my level 49 power. Maybe it just takes some getting used to but as of now it's totally working against me in combat... I've been overshooting mobs by just enough to miss the bulk of my initial eclipse/mires, which is a pretty huge deal since I'm nowhere near perma on either yet... Leading me to my next question (or series of questions )

    Power choices for tri-form?

I think I picked up all of the powers recommended in Dech's MFing Warshade guide, (the ones I picked listed below) so I'm going to focus on the ones I picked up that I don't use but couldn't think of anything else to pick.. I grabbed maneuvers, and stealth (even though I already have shadow cloak) because Dech mentioned that they all take the LOTG proc's. Is that really a good reason to pick up powers that I literally have no use for as a primarily solo tri-form player? And if not, what else is there really to pick?
I also grabbed nebulous form for the sake of getting around in places like rwz and grandville-- Timing the phase for as soon as I exit a mission is pretty helpful, but again I wish there was a more appealing choice. I have Orbiting Death for aesthetic purposes, sadly I get more use out of that than the other ones I've mentioned. I also don't care much for unchain essence but I put a set in there with a global recharge bonus so I guess it stays.

    The powers I selected are:

Shadow Bolt (What a waste, never used)
    Absorption (KB Protection)
    Gravimetric Snare (Worthless)
    Orbiting Death (Looks pretty)
    Dark Nova (Granted)
    Hasten (Granted)
    Sunless Mire
    Shadow Cloak
    Maneuvers (LOTG)
    Gravity Well
    Black Dwarf (Granted)
    Stygian Circle
    Nebulous Form (Meh)
    Essence Drain
    Gravitic Emanation
    Unchain Essence (Meh)
    Dark Extraction
    Quasar
    Inky Aspect
    Stygian Return
    Eclipse (Granted)
    Stealth (Meh)
    Super Speed (Meh)

I guess what I'm getting at is, what powers in everyone's opinion would make me not feel so wasteful, and/or how can I use the powers I'm iffy about in a better way? Thanks for bearing with me, any more advice along with the advice I've already recieved would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Funny, I just signed up for one on Protector.
  9. I just got the alpha slot on my first Warshade, sounds great Character name is Septipheran, global name @Samsungg.
  10. Great thanks. The -hp has seems to be so minimal, is there any real harm in leaving it on whenever in human form?
  11. I've been wondering about how inky aspect works exactly, I always have it on when in human form and it doesn't always seem to be effective... Does it have a sort of cycle like phase shift, or am I imagining things?

Yeah the illusionists are the worst. I also have some lag issues which make them even harder to handle.
  12. Funny (and great) that you replied, I reference your guide pretty often The thing that irks me about gravitic emanation is that they tend to scatter, making it hard to get a good mire/eclipse in. I do try to flee in Nova form but there always seem to be one or two that escape, run up close and hold me or beat the crap out of me so that I have to go into dwarf. :/ Maybe I just need more practice, I've tried turning the difficulty down for Carnie missions and it is easier to get through but it also takes much longer than other groups do. Thanks for the help though, it's much appreciated.
  13. Hi everyone,

I'm having some trouble with pesky Carnies... I am playing a level 48 tri-form Warshade with the following IO sets: 6 Touch of the Nictus in Essence Drain, 5 Stupefy in Unchain Essence, 2 Fury of the Gladiator in Quasar, 6 performance Shifter in Eclipse, 5 Decimation in Nova Bolt, 6 Kinetic Crash in Nova Blast, 5 Positron's Blast in Nova Detonation, 4 Perfect Zinger in Dwarf Antagonize, and one Tempered Readiness a piece in Dwarf Strike and Dwarf Smite.
I am nowhere near done with my build but the infamy fairy hasn't come to visit too often lately. Anyways, my difficulty is set to +0 x3, and the Carnies seem to be the only enemy group really giving me grief. Not even Void Hunters are this big a deal. My ideal approach has been to try and gravity well/inky aspect/gravitic emanation the mobs right off the bat and then blast the crap out of them in Nova form, but it never likes to go according to plan... Instead, I get forced into Dwarf form and if I even pop out to fire Hasten (There's never even time for Eclipse unless I can mez a small group and then hit it quick) they instantly hold me. Any insight on how other players handle this would be appreciated (I know "finish your build" is probably the most logical response, but I need help getting through the poor stage.)
  14. That wasn't vague at all...

I just went to buy Going Rogue, and I got this message. Any idea how long this is going to last?
  16. I'm seriously considering buying Going Rogue just for the Incarnate content, but I'll have to agree with some of the people who are complaining about it being mandatory to play in a group. I don't mind teaming with two or three people at a time, but anything over that and I tend to experience lag, which makes the game much less fun. One of the great things about the game is that group play is available but never required... The shards seem like they are going to be the way I go, but it would be nice to have end-game stories that could be played solo or in small groups.
  17. Hey everyone,

I just recently started playing on teams and my computer is not great to say the least. I usually do okay, but when running ITF's and other large teams I've noticed a literally unbearable amount of lag. I know it's not just my computer though because I've talked to other players who experience lag in these situations also.. I'm sort of wondering why the missions are lagging. I mean, people are paying to play this game.. I'm not insinuating that I plan on quitting or anything because it's not THAT big of a deal, but the missions shouldn't be lagging to epic proportions. It's really just a nuisance.
  18. Does that mean you'll help me? :S
  19. I just got to Ouroboros, I got the 'join' mission from the Pilgrim and was directed to Mender Lazarus. I got through the first mission fine, but was destroyed on the second, I think I need some help. :S

I've never done team play in any form before so you may have to talk to me as if I'm a child for a bit... But I'm playing a level 30 natural corruptor with energy blast/transfusion.
  20. Wow, so many replies.. I sort of spaced this thread out for a minute. Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I was aware of the map but whenever I went to use it, I was frustrated by the blackness within missions and figured it just meant it was useless unless I was in a main area. Coincidentally, when I was playing today I noticed that the blankness filled in as I progressed through the map, but I still haven't noticed any glowies showing up on it.

Using headphones seems like it might help because I never noticed the humming. An unrelated problem I had today: I was doing a mission in Sharkhead (Can't remember who it was for, but the story was something along the lines of.. I finished getting a blood coral, and I had to go to speak to something or other in order to learn 'the true source of power(?)' and then destroy the coral.

The problem: The mission lagged like hell... To the point where when I took a step, it wouldn't register for several moments. I would hit a power, and it would make the sound but there would be no change in my screen. I am running on a netbook with 1 gb ram so I generally get a bit of lag, but I've updated allmy drivers/defragged and I always run in safe mode. The game is usually very playable, I generally only see a really bad lag in heavily populated areas, and even then it's not as bad as this mission was. Missions never give me any problems. I even re-booted, then tried to run the mission again with the same result.
  21. Before I dive too far into the subject matter, let me preface--

I'm in my second month of the game (after trial) and I must say that COH/COV is the best game I have played in as long as I remember, so I don't mean to be taking a slight at developers/community/etc. That being said, I must get this out of my system...

I can't even tell you how many times I've been playing a mission, defeated all of the enemies in the map, and been completely lost looking for a glowie to click for way too long, because all tunnels/hallways/rooms in every map look EXACTLY the same. It gets to the point where I can't tell if I'm at the end of a map, or if I'm back where I started.

It's very frustrating, because I feel like I'm wasting time roaming around over and over, just to click on something. Perhaps there should be radars in mission maps that lead you towards glowies, because quite honestly I am paying money by the month to play this game.

If every section of the mission maps are going to resemble the last section, I will end up wasting time over something totally frivolous when I could be working on leveling up elsewhere.

I don't plan on ending game play because of it, because I'm far too absorbed already. This is my only qualm, and it doesn't detract from how wonderful the game is overall.. Just had to get this out of my system.
  22. I am having this issue too. I waited on a patch for about 15 minutes, got in, received 'no response from server' message. I would have restarted next, but I'm a rebel who doesn't follow instructions properly, so I simply 'ran as admin.' Now, it's patching again, with an estimated 32 minutes remaining. I figured I would gripe while I waited. Gripe, gripe, gripe.

Excellent. I've always wanted to be a pronoun.
  24. Oh jeez, I guess I didn't look carefully enough before posting. Sorry about that, thanks for sending me in the right direction.
  25. Hello,

My villain recently reached level 20, but I may have received the respec at level 19. I've been looking into them a bit, and none of the reasons for getting them seem to coincide with something I did.

I'm just asking why this may be out of curiosity, I'm actually happy with my powers/enhancements as they are, and when I looked at the respec screen I didn't notice any new options anyways (not that I looked very hard.)

But anyways, if anyone can explain this to me it'd be great. Thanks for your help.
