Its supposed to change to accommodate me. I bought the Universe for $6 just last month. Bought it from the previous owner who was strapped for cash and needed to buy lunch. Of course there was that 11% universal sales tax, so it was a tad bit more than $6...but still.
What? Why are you looking at me that way?

DAMNIT! SO YOUR THE ONE WHO OUTBID ME!!!

Don't worry, I'll give you a little corner to play in.

Er... why is this thread still running?
[/ QUOTE ]
Because we like to pad our post count.
Um.... Um, because we think that the OP doesn't yet understand the meaning of "dead".
>_> Possibly because no one's reported it to Mod8. It's actually been pretty civil!
[/ QUOTE ]
I choose reason #1. I just want to pad my post count. I have a lot of catching up to do.
Of course...to really pad a post count, I shouldn't consolidate my responses into one post... -

Am I worthy?
And to be on topic...
I don't want to lose a third of the characters I have because someone else doesn't want to take the time to actually form a team of their own...or is to lazy to move to a more populated server.
I have at least 6 characters on 9 servers. 4 servers have at least 12 characters and 2 have more, all on one account. If I lose any of them, I stop paying for both accounts I own.
Which of your characters would you like to lose, Tongo?
To sum up: Dis thot iz knot gud! -
WooT! 9th to rate Sibling Rivalry!

I love the "I don't have a problem with endurance pre-Stamina" posts. To those posters, I would ask: "Why do you take Stamina then?"
[/ QUOTE ]
On the vast majority of my characters, I don't.
[ QUOTE ]
They are told that because that is the way THEYare told to play the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed that sentence for you.
They may play that way, but that doesn't mean that someone without Endurance management powers can not keep up with them. Stamina isn't THAT good. -
[ QUOTE ]
Based upon my experience working under Sister Flame to make her arc, I do foresee a bright future in either Quality Assurance or Team Lead on a game design project for Sister Flame.
Aligator wrestler might also be an option.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think Alligator wrestler would be the easiest of those occupations. -

I congratulate the necro-poster for giving Cuppa fans everywhere a brief flash of false hope. Kudos!

I second that.

Take the example of the brute. Brutes suck without Stamina. Huffing and puffing even with endrdx and crying a little inside as the rage bar putters out.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's your opinion and opinions are subjective.
My Elec/Elec Brute doesn't suck. Of course that's my opinion and opinions are subjective. -
[ QUOTE ]
Per Castle, "lots" of characters take Stamina. Exactly what percentage this entails I don't know, but it's safe to assume it's pretty high. Since Stamina obviously doesn't provide any benefit to a character that already has enough endurance, I would consider taking Stamina to be reasonably compelling evidence of endurance issues.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're making an assumption from a faulty premise. The reasons for people taking Stamina are not shown in the data-mining of how many people take it.
I would bet that many people take Stamina because they were told to take it when they first started playing, then that became the "way" the game was "supposed" to be played. There are very few character builds that I have that "require" Stamina, and those only because I have a certain play-style with those particular characters.
Sorry to hi-jack this thread...

More updates would definitely NOT take away from the other discussions on this board. It's nice to have something heartwarming and non "flamefest".

If its from Sister Flame, then wouldn't that be a "Flamefest", by definition?
I agree though, more updates would be enjoyable. -

Sorry, but the sentient dimension just isn't making sense to me at all. The Rularuu came to the SS world - dimensions don't invade planets, that just doesn't make sense. Beings from another dimension, sure, but a dimension itself? Huh?
[/ QUOTE ]
I remember a series by Raymond E. Feist that dealt with a mad god invading the world through a portal to his dreams. The Rift War Legacy, if I recall. So, I could see a sentient dimension invading others in the respect that the dimension is just the landscape of a god's (or other god-like powerful being) dreams.
I always wondered what would have happened if Pug had gone through the portal into the mad god's dreams instead of destroying it. -
I did copy/paste the binds for my PB. the only thing I had to change in the bind was the quote marks. just deleted them and put them back in, then the bind worked just fine. probably had something to do with the fact that they were bold faced when they were copied.
redoing the quote marks is a lot easier than retyping the enitre thing. IMO. -

Worse, sometimes on pick up groups you'll have people freaking out "OMG! Invisible mobs are attacking me! My client is bugged! (Character logging out in 30...29...(dead)...28)
[/ QUOTE ]
Usually just zoning out of the mission and back in will fix that bug for me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just yesterday, my brother a friend and I were running a mission against the snakes in Mercy. We logged into the mission, everyone was there. after the first run in with one group that quickly grew to two and wiped the team, we relogged into the mission. None of us realized that my brother had that graphical bug. the team window showed him as "on mission map" but was blacked out like he was logging in. However, he was in the mission. We started in on finishing up the two group battle. When I noticed a couple of snakes just running around in circle. I couldn't see who they were following (my brother). It was funny and irritating at the same time. His health was blinky red and he couldn't stop to type anything. As long as he kept moving, they would chase him, but not get to attack.
He exited and re-entered the mission and that fixed the problem of us not being able to see him. -

Last time I checked, the principles of gravity, magnetism, fire, air, earth, water, sound, body, and mind were all still forces of nature. The issue really is more about the character created than the powers used. Marvel isn't suing because you lift heavy things - Marvel is suing because you lift heavy things in ripped purple pants, sporting green skin, built like a weightlifter on steroids, with a name above your toon like The Inflagible Hulck .
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you Detour. I was going to point that out myself. But, since you did already, I won't have to. -
[ QUOTE ]
Still, a majority of people you team with do have stamina.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, the majority of people you team with may use it, not the majority I team with. You do not know who I team with. So, you do not know what powers they have. Just this morning I teamed with 5 other people. did the majority of the team have Stamina? Nope. Being a bubble Controller, I need to keep an eye on bubble status of the team, so I notice little things like Stamina, Health, Fast Healing, Quick Recovery, etc. Judging from the people that I've teamed with (different people than those you team with) the majority of people do not use Stamina, Health or Hasten. Now that we have two conflicting views, I guess we can't say that everyone uses Hasten and Stamina. Nor can we say that no one uses Hasten and Stamina. I just dislike people tossing out sweeping statements like those I've seen here about those two powers. For your information, Hasten and Stamina are not the "must have" powers for the casual gamer that you seem to think they are. they're not as needed for Power gamers either. They are handy to have, I'll grant you. But, you don't have to have them to have a viable solo or team build. -
[ QUOTE ]
You are just too slow keeping up with the party unless you take Swift (and let's face it, everyone takes Fitness).
[/ QUOTE ]
This is the same fallacy as "everyone takes Hasten." NOT everyone takes Stamina. NOT everyone takes Hasten. Get that into your cranium. Just because YOU get a power for everyone one of your heroes does NOT mean that EVERYone does. I have yet to get Stamina for any of my heroes. Altho, one, out of the 20+ I have, will be getting it...eventually.
[ QUOTE ]
Ok, let me ask again. What's your point? I'll agree, we're not random. So..........er..... what's your point, other than to nitpick the word random? Does this have any impact on what I said that the board posters are a good sampling of the player base?
[/ QUOTE ]
I would like to point out that, in my opinion (this is not a fact), most MIN/MAXing Powergamers are the ones using Hasten and Stamina. Also another opinion, mostly, the people that are posting on the boards complaining about a power's (in)effectiveness are the same MIN/MAXing powergamers. NOTE: I said mostly, this does not mean all posters. There are some Balance players out there. I'm all for balance. I agree that flight could use a slight boost to speed, but I'm not concerned with getting from here to there in the blink of an eye. If I were, I'd use TP more often. However, since I build for concept mst of the time, I don't have many TP heroes, only 2 Superspeed heroes, and a few slated for Super Jump. The majority of my Heroes will have Fly. Skyway City is a tad more of a pain for a Speedster than for a flier. Not much, but just a tad. My main, an Illision Controller, doesn't worry about stealth effects, since he has Group Invis. Fly works just fine for him.
As for the arguments that people with Superspeed don't agro villains as they speed past, I hate to tell you, I've been speeding down the street with my Speedster, lept(with hurdle) over a group of +3 Trolls with bosses, and was sent to the hospital 5 blocks later as the rocks they threw finally registered as hitting me. So, even with the stealth on Superspeed, you can agro villains and get taken down with 1 group shot. In addition, I don't care for having to get another pool power to augment my travel power, just so I can get to places easier. That is why I like Fly more than Superspeed. -
[ QUOTE ]
Because Superspeed is in the Speed power pool, a pool that 98% of all the heroes in the game are going to take anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
Let's see, I have over 20 heroes. Out of all of those heroes, only 3 have Hasten. and one of those, I'll be respecing Hasten out, so that would leave 2. Hmm...2 out of 20+ doesn't seem to be 98% to me. But then, I don't have even 1% of the total number of Heroes in the game. I'd just like to point out, tho, that making a statement like that with out factual evidence to back it up is rather...silly. You could say many, but I would steer clear of most and definately stay away from 98%.
It has been my experience, that most of the heros I make do not need Hasten. I may so some min/maxing, but I don't concern myself with DPS. So that makes Hasten a power that I do not need. And since Hasten isn't that "got to have" power for me, then why would I want Super Speed? Super Speed is fast and its nice to have, I'll grant you that. I only have 2 Heroes with it. The other hero that has Hasten uses Fly to get around. He also has Recall Friend, so that's 3 travel pools used. So what? I also have one with Super Jump and another with TP. I'm familiar with all the travel powers, except the /SR non-Pool power travel power(s).
But, to say that everyone needs/gets Hasten is really a lie at worst, or a mistaken perception at best. In fact, of all the people I know who play CoH, only 1 has Hasten on any of his Heroes. In addition, I see alot of people fly/Run/Jump/TP around and in the fights I see them in, I don't see Hasten running. Its kinda hard to miss the glowing hands, ya know. -

Depends on your preference setting, I have only 7 pages...

True, I only have 25 posts per page. That would mean somewhere around 275 posts give or take.
