  1. Heh, thanks, Z. So, at what age do I introduce the saucy and debonair caps to the young lad?

Some updates: MiniTurg is now off the CPAP mask. He's been breathing pretty well, and is eating up everything mom throws at him (the NICU told her to "stop bringing food, they have a ton now". )

Result? I finally get to see the lad's face without all that stuff on him. Y'know, I said he looked like Tina's dad when he popped out, but now... yeah, kinda looks like me. Big head, all rico suave wearing nada but diapers, poops with +15 accuracy vs newbies.
  2. Pyronic Core here. I have 'em all, but this is the one I like the most. Ill/Storm for my build.
  3. Felt the need to comment here.

    Iron_General? Love your sig.
  4. "Rise of the Statesmen"

    I like it.

He had a go against Lusca solo on his 50 PB, with predictable (to me) results. We're doing TFs with him to get those, and today I logged in and got skype running, and as we were playing he told me of an encoutner he had earlier that day with a GM.

He spotted said GM whilst hunting ghosts in Croatoa, tabbing for the next mob. He told me that he'd never seen this particular monster before, and hadn't tried soloing one since he became T4 incarnated, so he figured what the heck, he'd have a go. He thought it best not to take any chances, so he buffed up, ate a full tray of large inspirations, got all his pets out (even his Shivans and Warwolves), charged in and unleashed his Judgement for an initial strike...

Poor Sally didn't stand a chance, really.

I laughed like a drain when he told me this. He said that only then did he check out Sally on paragonwiki, and after hanging round for half an hour, he defeated her the second time with a shot from his tier 1 attack.

To those that this [somehow] spoiled it, that was not my intent and I apologize. This was one of the few times I read the NCsoft launcher as well and what a time to start. I was only looking for the WTF and saw it. upon reviewing the launcher, it doesn't say who it was, just that it's revealed. Again, not my intent. Though as the person I quoted stated, I wasn't the first. I just happened to be the one you saw.
C'est la vie. Don't worry about it now, just be more mindful in the future.

At least to your OP: I saw it too, and have seen them laying the seeds of this for a long time. Watch for Hero-1 to step up into Statesman's shoes, IMO.

Am I disappointed in the reveal? Sorta, but I can see why they chose to reveal it. Sometimes the drama isn't about the death; it's about the path leading to that death. There've been plenty of death reveals in the past in literature (classical, modern, comic book, etc) that follow this same route.

Personally, I would've kept it secret. Then again, I've been wanting to write a fan fiction/AE series called "The Death of Atlas". Again, it's not about the destination, it's about the journey.

Most titles are based on forum post count. Some are awarded manually (like mine) for various reasons. The most recent ones for VIP are meant for subscriber status.

The post rankings are listed somewhere here. Search it out and you'll find it.

  13. Hmm.

    Hero 1.

The natural replacement for Statesman. In Ramiel's Incarnate intro arc, we capture him and release him to Vanguard for rehabilitation.

When Statesman dies/leaves/scoots off to wherever, Hero 1 rises once more to fill the vacuum of power.

    Discuss.

My husband and I are indeed moving to China where new adventures and new challenges await, like accessing the Internet I'm used to for instance, that'll be fun!

For almost 7 years now I've had the immense honour and pleasure to play AND work on my one most favouritest MMO of all time (I'm making my very own Grammar policing instincts cringe with horror right now but the superlative is worth it).

I've been able to live on two different continents thanks to that very game and meet many amazing people from all walks of life and from all over the world.

It still strikes me as odd when I see how some people still disparage the role of games in our modern society. While I understand the dangers, I have seen first-hand what effect our game has had on a lot of people, not to mention myself! Games like ours bring people together. Games like ours foster the type of communities where people would know and befriend their neighbours. You may not always see eye to eye with them but they're your friends all the same. And I have made friends for life thanks to our game

I don't know how often I'll be able to access my newly created Titan Weapons droid or my Street Justice bandit or any of my now retired characters from China but I will definitely be logging in from time to time to see the amazing things the team is working on come to fruition! What with Dark Astoria, one of my favourite areas, getting spookier and increasingly more captivating story arcs (I read the mission texts, I do!) that our talented designers conjure out of thin air for us.

Thank you to all of you whom I've crossed path with during the past 7 years. Thank you for treating me as one of you on my personal characters (you couldn't know it was me but still ) and thank you for treating me with respect on my Avatea.

    Zai jian!

P.S.: I'm not actually leaving today but Zwillinger forced me, he forced me to post it today so he had a reason to get me on Ustream, woe is me
    Avatea,

It was a positive delight to finally meet you last month at the Player Summit. I'm sad that you're leaving the Paragon staff, sadder that you'll be in China (good luck getting out electronically), but I'm enthused with your diving into the eastern horizon, guns blazing and engines on full burn.

I wish you and your husband all the best, and I think I speak for all of us (at least the cool people) when I say, "Come back soon, and let us know what you've seen. We'll miss you."

Funny, cuz sometimes the league lead will say "solo a door if you can, rest head to chokes", and everyone wins.

OP: Your posted builds should do fine. I throw in Lore ranged cone/AOE pets for added effectiveness (the Polar Lights Core does extremely well for my needs). Using those, my ill/storm can hold the door solo, and chip in with the choke lane as well.

I dunno about that. I've been running Incarnate PUGs almost consistently since the summertime (I'll respond to the OP in a sec about that), but all of my Freedom crews, with minor exceptions, have been chill and relaxed. It's a matter of personality. If someone comes out smiling, others do it too. I'm a first-strike smiler. MrD, if you want to find a crew to run with, watch the Freedom boards and sign up for the Freedom Horde public runs. They happen almost every other day nowadays, and the people who dance to that tune are top shelf in skill and in personality.

    Anyway, OP:

Yes, I am having more fun. The "Incarnate" stuff only applies to the 45-50 content. I haven't changed my hero/villain builds to accommodate/optimize for the Incarnate abilities. Result: I'm exactly the same hero I was before I tinkled in the Well of the Furies. Sub-45 content is fresh and very interesting (I've been enjoying the new FW content, and damn if the signature arcs aren't getting my attention).

Even as an Incarnate for the 45-50 content, I like the fact that I have additional abilities to bring to the table, like for the Dr. Quaterfield slog, for the ITF or LRSF, etc. Have my teams ever said "hey, let's turn them off or not use them?" No, but if they voted on it, I'd have no issue with doing so. I just "like" using the new abilities, because they are awesome. XD
  17. Heya, gang:

Just wanted to take a few minutes to update all of you.

MiniTurg (because his secret identity is, well, secret) has been around for 72 hours now and is doing quite well. Sunday was weird; we were cleaning out the baby room for painting this week (was done yesterday and will be finished today in fact), and Tina started having some back issues, so we thought she just strained herself. So we quit and had dinner with some friends.

During the dinner, she excused herself a few times for what we basically thought was "gas", but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary. Got home, "gas" continued, but it would go away when she'd go to the bathroom.

Things started to escalate around 11pm when the cramps got worse. Called the doc, he said he wasn't too worried but wanted to schedule a sonogram for tomorrow morning, but to go to the hospital immediately if things got worse. They started to ramp up bigtime around 12:30am. After a few more phone calls, going to the bathroom, and having the cramps come back, we committed to the hospital run around 2am.

Just as we decided that, a big contraction hit. They were now 5 mins apart and getting closer.

Raced down the highway to the hospital, got there around 2:20am. Took Tina about 20-30 mins to go through triage and registration before things got to DEFCON 1. Less than an hour after we entered the hospital, and after about 15 minutes of actual labor, MiniTurg made his debut. Little tyke couldn't wait to be mommy and daddy's Christmas tax break - SCORE!

Tina had no time for anything but a natural, no-drug birth, so while frankly one our lives' top ten WTF moments, she was on her feet within an hour, being all accomplishing and take-charge as usual. I was just the hubbie standing on the side, offering to hold her foot. XD

The lad's 2 months preemie, but he popped out screaming, and he's been breathing room air since his first second, so that's a huge, HUGE plus. They have him on enriched oxygen anyway, with additives to help develop lung growth (they're still immature on O2 extraction).

Yesterday was the first time I ever changed a diaper. Doing it through an incubator makes it feel oddly like building a ship in a bottle. And if you screw up, you get poop.

I got to hold him up with my hands to assist the nurse in changing his sheets. He didn't cry a peep. I'm a natural at holding him like an olive loaf.

Someone pointed out that his first birthday will be on 12/12/12. ...someone else also pointed out that it's twice 6/6/6. I found this fitting and appropriate, and will be watching for those cute little horn buds to pop out any day now.

I'm a shutterbug, so of course I've taken a ton of shots so far. Last night was the first time I was able to snap a shot of his face though, since he's been doing lightbath therapy for jaundice all this time. (Yes, my baby's first act was to hit the tanning booths.)

I have a few pics that are tasteful without frankly showing him in detail. Once I've decided which to post, I'll copy links here. I tried to do stuff last night, but I keep falling asleep... it says something when I login to COH, and fall asleep by the time the zone loads.

(Shush, Luna/E-Man. I know I fall asleep at the drop of a dime. "Turg, you there? Why are you running into that wall?" XD)

I really just wanted to take a minute and say thank you, thank you to everyone here and my family and friends on Facebook, real life, at work, etc. It's been a crazy week, and you all have been great cheerleaders and have given great advice (although I admit, I already bought peepee teepees, they're so damn cute). You guys have been around in my life for almost 8 years now, and I'm thrilled to share this with all of you.

It's just heartbreaking to see him in that incubator, but every day, he makes gains. Even opened his eyes last night when I held him. Yeah. Now I have to up my game and be his personal Incarnate-maxxed superhero.

We're having to redo our registry now to accommodate the changes... at least it's all online and I can do it on the tablet while we sit. Lotsa crap to get... oy...

  19. Bro, you got no idea... wife's birthday is last week of Nov, my birthday is Friday... we'll have 30 days of parties!

House full of Sagittarans... the fights should be Incarnate-epic...

True, but the pix I've taken thus far are all rather heartbreaking. He's all wrapped and tubed up in the incubator. I'm holding onto these pictures of course, but I won't be sharing out 'til all the tubepunk hardware is gone and you can actually see him.

...I will say, though, he's got a knitted sock hat that comes down over his eyes for the light bath therapy. Looks quite the gangstah chic.
  22. ...who is a full two months early on the birth date. Born last night at 320am at 3lbs 9oz, MiniTurg is breathing room air and doing otherwise well. Wife had a blitzkrieg labor (which we thought was just gas) but is up and about and eating nicely.

I'll update when things quiet down.

    ...send diapers. :-)
  23. Vigos.

And everyone who knows him is probably cautiously nodding their head in approval right now.
