There is no other place that makes me regress back to my childhood reading comic books and playing with action figures on grandmas porch. After a long day in the office and presentations, I can always find comfort with you all. -
Still on the fence with the builds mentioned below. I may just wait until a month before I make my DP character and see other players feedback on the forums first. I did this with WP and SD in the past. Plus, It allows me some time to get back into Age of Empires which is full of win!

Forming a run for this Thursday at 8 EST to kick off the double xp weekend. We can set it for a master run for all those who still need the badge, but will continue after the third mission regardless of a death. I will be on my Shield Tanker.

Update: Finished the star theme, you can see it ontop of the tpers. Hope you all like it. Next, onto the last tp room and workshop.

Finishing up the space TP rooms this week then working on this room again. After putting over 50 hours in the tp rooms, I came up with new ideas, so im renovating the 3 floored workshop. If you guys have suggestions, please post them! I would like to improve upon my ideas.

Glad to see your back. I can understand how you can get burned out when working on bases. I still have three projects on the back burner, one of which is a volcano theme. Looking forward to more of your work.

A few more hours and I should be done with this room. I added some space windows on top of the TPers. If you look back at the old pictures, you can see the changes I made. I plan on putting a few longbow ships in the background and stars so it should look neat. I took NP's idea and went for a "global beacon" control center. After looking at it some more, I am going to enhance it with some cabinets and tech stuff so it should look more professional.

I always wanted to make an arcane/tech mixed base. What comes to mind is the CoT rez room with those mini crystal caves that you have to break in order to be free. I can see you making this your rez room and throw in some wooden bridges and green crystals. You can have that lead into a room similar to the Infernal map (make it an 8 TP room) where you jump on top of raised rocks (wish I had a picture to show you). That room could then lead into a hallway which you can make a 1 X 4 control room and place the arcane control statues for decoration. That hallway could then transition into a few tech rooms.
This way its like the base is not completely tech since the heroes have taken over it. You could even do a lava scene thats a mixture of tec an arcane for the control room and energy room. Im thinking a long the lines of Tyrants layer and my Volcano Base Layout for inspiration. Wish I had the time to finish that base, but its on my to-do list. Hope this helps during your base building block.

It looks like you have a few things near the wall in the room to the bottom left near where the doorway of the room you want to place is. Remove those objects and you should be fine.

Echoing what other people are saying, there really is no specific functional base layout that works best. In my opinion, its easier to plan your base if you think ahead of time as to what you want to have in it and how you want to lay it out. I use Microsoft Paint all the time when coming up with new ideas and plots.
I am in the process of rebuilding my base into a Space Theme, which was designed around functionality first, then decoration. For example, it holds 4 TP rooms (14 TP units, 1 base raid TP unit), 1 secure energy plot (2 fusion generators), 1 medical bay (8 rez units, 2 auto docs), 1 secure control room (1 autonomous expert system, 1 supercomputer), 1 workshop (6 storage bins, 1 enhancement bin, 2 inspiration bins, 1 crafting table, 1 vault, 2 workshop stations, 3 empowerment stations, 1 IoP room and 1 decoration room.
I tried to limit fluff as much as I could, but eventually had to add the decoration room to fit the plot. If you look at the layout, it resembles a space station, or so I like to think so. Here is a MS Paint image that I am following.
I still have a lot of work ahead of me. The rooms in blue are not done yet, and the ones in gray are. If you would like some help planning your layout, I can help you come up with a design, just PM or /global me. I worked with Sidhe on her Secret of Nimh Base and its looking amazing! -
What about something like this? (not necessarily the names I chose)
1. Thunder Kick Melee Moderate, Mez
2. Combat Training - auto self + acc
Helps negate the lack of aim in the primary, plus its an auto power.
4. Focus Chi Self, +Dmg, + To Hit
10. Mental Toughness - auto self +res + speed
Thinking along the lines of SRs quickness. I would imagine that recharge and speed would be beneficial in any DP character. Think cowboys!

20. Kuji In Sha (Combat Recovery) Self Heal, + tox res
28. Dragon Tail - PBAoE
35. Power Boost (Focus Mind) + special
Would be beneficial for the stuns/debuffs in the primary and secondary.
