  1. Vel i enjoy that combo and if i want to do a lot of aoe dmg i can hit aim+soul drain+irradiate+nuke
  2. I enjoy a lot of burst dmg and they dont have to have amazing survivability because i will probably do the combat jumping/maneuvers/weave for the +rech lotg
  3. I have more than enough 50s and enough money to fund any character i want without blinking an eye. My question is what ranged combo is best for a new character I have made plenty of melee classes and even a few controllers. I was considering a kheldian but was turned off by the posts i saw saying how low their dps is. I dont want /kin or a fender because i like my secondary to be just a secondary not something i have to worry about all the time. Im sorry if im a little picky but your suggestions would be well appreciated.
  4. Yeah ever since enhancement converters purple sets have hit a plateau and now sell for very similar prices its good and not so good at the same time. And the reason for the recipe being higher is probably because there are more of the enhancements on the market than recipes because people convert all their pvp enhancements to try and get that one to make inf
  5. So when you get to a higher level or get more influence/infamy are ATO's the highest amount of profit you can get? If not what do you usually do to make the highest profit

    Seems pretty good only thing i am wondering about is what to put in earthquake i was thinking a overwhelming force that changes it from knockback to knockdown but wasnt sure
  7. This build looks really good if you get Alpha slot Agility Core Paragon you will be at the soft cap for smashing and lethal, personally I would prefer a obliteration in spring attack and foot stomp for the extra melee def and it would get you closer to perma hasten

    MoG cannot be made permanent, that likely would break the game...but...you can have shadowmeld from the Soul PPP on redside, run tips to go red and back to blue and get it, it's worth it.     I really really really like this build getting to 43.5% smashing/lethal without alpha slot agility is very difficult, grats
  9. I have been working on my fire/fire scrapper for the last few weeks and I have a build very similar to this, I could not function without consume but that is why you have it. As for the attacks the main thing a fire tank should focus on is keeping aggro on him so he can put his burn patch down, combustion, fire sword circle, fire ball, and the occasional greater fire sword are really all the attacks you need as a tank so yes i use some attacks as mules for s/l def but what good is a tank if he is dead.
  10. As a tank I believe you should maximize smashing/lethal def this is my build for you, and with it you may even be able to run cave farms.

  13. I am just curious how long it takes to transfer a character. If I transferred a toon hoping to play it on a new server for dbl xp weekend would it be done in time. I am playing one of my 2 accounts that got re-activated for the weekend. Will the fact that I don't currently have a paid subscription matter? Has anyone without a paid subscription transferred a toon yet? Thanks in advance for the info.

  14. not an option for me since I uninstalled I need the updater to get to the latest version of the game. when I rename cohupdater -> cohupdater.exe I can get it to run but it will not connect. I am up to try #81
  15. ok I deleted the cohupdater.prv and the "cohupdater" once i click the CovUpdater it says updater not found. So apparently that is just a link to the cohupdater with a CoV Icon. So I deleted the CovUpdater.

    That just leaves "cohupdater" and "CohUpdater_UI_Win.dll" there are no other updater files in the folder.

    When I run the cohupdater it immediately crashes and I get the error box. Again ModName is "cohupdater.exe"

    I just took all CoX files off my computer and will tell you step by step what I am doing.

    Ok ... no CoH folders in program files or any where else.

    Installed the game from the CoV DVD

    After install it goes to the updater

    message on bottom says checking updater

    updater closes then restarts itself. Upon restart it immediately crashes and I get the error box. cohupdater has encountered ... blah, blah blah.

    The coh file now has both cohupdater.prv and CohUpdater_UI_Win.dll. No cohupdater.new although there is a "cohupdater" icon and a "CovUpdater" icon
  17. there is an uninstall icon because the game client gets installed. then the game needs to update and at that point when it attempts to connect to update is when all the problems occur

    I cannot even begin to say how wrong this is. They put out an update that makes their game unplayable on my computer and it is up to me to get it working?!?!?!?!? That is beyond ludicrous. I HAVE submitted a ticket, I HAVE tried calling, I HAVE tried every option others on this forum have suggested. Again I uninstalled the game and can now not even re-install it. I even tried the procedure that Ultima Shadow suggested but once I have the CoH_EU_ Setup running it just crashes like when I tried the other re-install
  21. Ok so after trying everything I have read in the 2 threads on these forums I still couldn't log into the updater. I also could no longer bypass the updater and play because it now says I am not running the correct version of the game. So I uninstalled and attempted to re-install. Of course every time I try to run it I still need to update and the updater closes right away and i get the message "CohUpdater encountered a problem and needs to close." I only have 2 days a week I get to play and now after spending the whole morning trying to fix it I am worse off then when I started. This is typical of why NCsoft has lost so many customers. First of all I shouldn't have to be troubleshooting to make their game work. I pay my money and should expect them to provide me with a game that works. Additionally putting out an update that causes so many problems should never have happened, don't they test this stuff? I am about to get on the phone with them and they better get this resolved immediately.

    Oh yeah it is Saturday ... they are closed. Man am I STEAMED!!!
