SS/INV, Switched from a Tanker
You'd see a very noticeable increase in survival if you replaced 4 of those Crushing Impacts in every power with Kinetic Combats, but you'll also notice the price increase by a lot as well. It may seem insignificant, with already high s/l resist numbers, but remember that other types of damage are usually bundled with s/l as well.
If you can find the slots to move around, you can 4 slot your resist powers with reactive armor to give your s/l a further boost, as well as help your defense toward pure energy and negative.
You might also want to move the miracle proc to Health so that it's always on and frankenslot Dull Pain so you can maximize your slots elsewhere, like potentially six slotting Rage for maximum uptime and to more than make up for the loss of accuracy from using the lower leveled Kinetic Combats. With invincibility, you'll be way over 95% chance to hit anyway, or so I find on my SS/inv brute 98% of the time. Focused Accuracy will be beating a dead horse. If you can find yourself on villain side in the future, you'll get a lot of damage per second out of Gloom from Soul Mastery.
Physical Perfection is another power you might find would be worth gutting for slots. At half the strength of Health and Stamina, I find it worth only slotting for Recovery, and even then only one or two. At the very least, move the extra slots you have for the health regen to Health so you get more out of them.

This build looks really good if you get Alpha slot Agility Core Paragon you will be at the soft cap for smashing and lethal, personally I would prefer a obliteration in spring attack and foot stomp for the extra melee def and it would get you closer to perma hasten

I *need* Flight. I can live without Spring Attack. I don't need Hasten, I don't think, because that's 2 powers I'd like to have on auto, and I don't know that I could keep up with clicking one or the other.

Me? I'm a PC. I prefer function over form. If that means I'm hitting Rage once a minute, so be it. I like ungodly damage output and not having to wait for attacks to make an attack chain and the fact that I spend long tracts of time in double-rage.
If you're hot for a flight power, build a jetpack or go with one of the market flight options. Or, if you don't mind spending a bit, try to go for the Void Skiff in Super Booster 2:
I can sort of see taking both...but it's something I've always avoided to simplify my gameplay. As for the flight question...it's a Supergirl/Ms. Marvel/Power Girl tribute character, so...jet packs won't cut it.

So...I think I came up with an even better one, one where I don't even need the Brute ATO set!
Also, the 5 slots in Hurl are for the Overwhelming Force set: same DEF bonus as Thunderstrike, with one less slot! |
5-slotted OF gives you the same def bonus as 3-slotted Thunderstrike (2.5%).
At 6 slots, you get an additional 1.25% E/N.
- Punch and Haymaker, even with doubled Rage, are going to miss significantly more often.
- KOB is going to have a similar problem, just less-so.
- The psi proc in Zinger turns Taunt into a sometimes-weapon, but you're already over on your S/L, and Mocking Beratement provides a better recharge bonus and some F/C defense.
- Rage is ENTIRELY dependent on non-perma Hasten. This will lead to gaps in both damage and defense (remember having Rage goes down whacks your defenses too if you're not doubled).
- The fly IO in Fly is a waste. You're already capped by default.
- The extra 4% recovery from Gift of the Ancients isn't really helping you much. Whacking that takes you down exactly .07 End/Sec. Three-slotting LOTG bumps your regen, then bumps your HP (which gets more out of your regen then).
- Superior Conditioning: Why not just go for a Perf Shifter End Mod? It'll give you a 5% movement bonus.
- Stamina: Same. You'll get a bigger HP boost out of three-slotting Perf Shifter than you would out of the 2 slotted Efficacy Adaptor.
- Current price of 4-slotted Kinetic Combat. 220-250 million inf. Current price of PVP defense Unique: 300 million inf. Translation: Save yourself two slots. Stick one in CJ and toss a Def/End in there. Throw the other in Rage. This way it's perma even with Hasten down. You could even do something cool, like tossing Membrane Exposures in there and still be perma-Rage AND boost your ToHit by about 36%.

Fixed everything else (just picked up the Winter's Gift SlowRes last night on the cheap, go level 11!), but this isn't making sense to me. Where are you getting these slots from?

1: Can't move this (Default Slot)
2: Use this in one of your resists for the Gladiator's Armor TP/Def unique (Hence my price comparison).
Leaving you with 2 slots of which I recommend:
3: Combat Jumping (LOTG Def/End)
4: Hasten: Another Recharge IO or go with a Membrane Exposure HO.
Done and done...but here's a crazy question: As it stands (without Incarnate powers, which is my kind of...barrier, anything other than what I have once I ding 50 I consider icing on a SMASHy cake), I'm sitting at 44.5 s/l and 42.6 E/N DEF. So close!

But, remember that you're Invuln. With Invincibility, as you jump into progressively bigger groups, your defense shoots up
In short:
Barrier is a biggie. It'll sit there and drive defenses into "Yeah. Go ahead and debuff me schmuck-boy!" range. It also kicks your resists into the stratosphere. So it's a good response if the debuffs start landing hot and heavy.
However, Ageless Radial buffs your endurance, recharge and spikes your debuff resistance.
Or...maybe swap CJ for Maneuvers, same slotting? That caps S/L, but not E/N, might it be worth the increased END drain?

You're also giving up some of the immobilization protection that's built into CJ.
Honestly, that last build looks COMPLETELY playable and should be an absolute monster.
Hey all: So, I have a lvl 41 Inv/SS tank that I love dearly, but she's been semi-retired for a few years and is running with SOs only. She's nigh-unkillable, but can't swat a fly with the amount of speed I'd like, so I thought I'd switch up and make a Brute instead. The Brute is currently level 19, and I thought I'd throw together a quick build to be eviscerated by folks more knowledgeable than I.
I realize the RES/DEF numbers will be lower on a Brute, but is this too low? I went for recovery, psi resist, and some extra recharge as I lack Hasten. Did I miss anything? Obviously, this isn't a purpled-out build as I'm not huge on funding.
