I'm sure he'll be missed in game. As Halo mentioned there are always the other forums he should be able to use if he wants to say hello. Be good to hear from him again

AS people have said, get Nightfall. Slot just like any other attack, dmg and accuracy.
I personally wouldnt bother with torrent, especially for a kinetics. You need to rely on keeping yours anchors for things like transfusion, fulcrum etc in place so flinging them around isn't the best idea
If you can spare the slots a range in tentacles would also be useful, it'd give it more or less the same range/cone as nightfall then. -
well done everyone. Was there for the holding phase unfortunately I missed out on the Hami-O though. System locked up when the pummeling began and it was gettin late so didnt bother to log back in. Just means I'll be respawning on top of hami next time I log in.. but I'm already at the debt cap so nevermind
My first hami raid and hopefully wont be my last -

Played as mr cuddles the other night and it was a lot of fun.
Might be bringing him out of retirement because I never did get to finish the AV arcs.
Anyone needs a tank and no one in AC is online, give me a tell @mr cuddles

Yay! -
I'm guessing we should be done before 3pm. If so then, providing I a) don't sleep in too long or b) get held up in ques at Asda, then Tufty will be there \o/

yeah, I guess your problem is the _. You don't normally need them in binds.

Sorry I missed it, had to work late, didnt get home til after 7 so had to have dinner etc.
Hope to attend a raid in the future, once I get SO's anyway.. only 4 lvls to go. probably can affrod about 5.. but its better than nothing I guess! -

[sarcasm]Oh yes the wonderful Black Hole, how could we forget about that[/sarcasm] -
for controlling its probably best go for ice/dark.
From ice blast you get 2 single target holds in freeze ray and bitter freeze ray. Then there is also the slow secondary effect of the blasts.
From dark miasma you've got tar patch to add to the slow effect and also increase your dmg. Useful for things like blizzard etc aswell to slow down the scattering. Howling twilight can be used as a disorient aswell as a rez. Fearsome stare is a fantastic power and will add to your mob control. Then you get petrifying gaze aswell which is another single target hold. Your dark servant also gets this so really you can have up to 4 single target holds with ice/dark aswell as fears, slows and disorients.
Edit: Other than /dark /rad may also be an option. You have you debuff powers to reduce mob speed, resistance etc. And then 2 AoE holds in choking cloud and EMP Pulse. -
We haven't agreed on a set design yet. I just got bored with my old one, had a spare costume token so used up my 2nd slot. If people want to see what their char looks like in it tho I can post the details.

It doesnt work with Twilight Grasp either... we'll all be at 50 by the time the fix it anyway
I normally use mine before a nuke for the extra dmg anyway. -
I find defenders great fun to play because to me they are so versatile and can adept to the needs of most teams. Tufty is a dark/dark and thru out my career I've played as a healer, a herder, a blaster and a controller.
As most people have pointed out FF is a set you every love or hate to play becuase it doesn't really involve much. To be honest if I played an FF I'd concentrate on my secondary just as much because after you've done your buffing, you either sit there and not do much or blast away. The only way you can kind of combat the knockback is to pick up hover/fly and attack from above so you knock stuff into the ground.
Based on what you've said I'd say if you wanted to try a defender you're better off rolling a rad, kin, dark or if you want to be different a TA. -
Ok tips on the dark side:
Twilight grasp is probably best slotted 2 acc/2 or 3 heal/1 or 2 recharge. Dont bother with tohit debuffs
Darkest Night. Where are your debuffs? Should be slotted with at least 2 to hit debuffs, then end reds to suit, although 3 is a bit excessive.
Howling twilight. Its way overslotted. It depends what you want to use it for really. If you are using it as a disorient power then 1 or 2 recharge and 1 or 2 disorients will do. No need for the dmg, heal or slow. If you are just using it as a rez, 1 end red or 1 recharge in the default slot will do.
Shadowfall has a very small defence and isn't worth slotting for. Slot with 3 dmg res instead and 1 or 2 end reds, again 3 is a bit excessive and the 3rd wont offer much discount.
Fearsome stare is fine. You may want to consider slotting a recharge aswell at some point so it can be stacked.
Dark servant can really be slotted however you want it. Personally I always recommend 2 or 3 tohit debuffs. Keep him in the middle of mobs and let him debuff them. In order for MMs to make fluffy perma aswell they need a couple of recharges in. But slotting for this is really down to taste. Some people slot for 3 heals and make him a heal bot for example.
If you want to get stamina earlier then I'd probably suggest taking shadowfall, repair and recall friend later, ie take hurdle at 16, health at 18, fearsome stare at 20, stamina at 22, shadowfall at 24, repair at 26, recall friend at 28. -
What are we doing next week then? Who has the striga arc open? If its Ils/Syn, then we will have problems continuing that. In that case we can either have a week off or we can look at doing other stuff like PvPing, or start unlocking Croatoa.
-
If we need to, seeing as this is the most task heavy part of the game we could always skip Citadel. I doubt there'd be many objections seeing as its one of the worst tfs
-
Think we've got a good chance of finishing the tf this week anyway. If I've worked it out right we've got 6 missions left to do, defeat all, patrol, defeat leader and crew, 2 x glowies missions and then defeat Clamour.
If we can make a start as soon as 3 or 4 people are on, on the defeat all mission we should be ok, I'm guessing thats the one that'll take the longest. Patrol is easy enough, then we can ghost to the leader on the next mission, ghost the 2 glowy missions and then clear the final mission. Ghosting missions isn't really as fun but it'd be good to finish the tf this week (if not it'll have to wait 2 weeks) and its not as if we need the xp. Most of us are already at 25 and in dnager of outleveling the first striga contacts. -
Just thought I'd remind you, in case you didn't know (although after doing it 7 times I'm guessing you probably do), that the start of the trial is bugged. You need someone in the lvl 39-41 range to be the leader and start the trial or you get kicked from the team.

Certainly a different build from most D3's
One thing I did think of tho.. If you are focusing of the disorients and taking all 3, (OG, DP & HT) then disorientating minions/lts shouldn't cause any problems. A boss may or may not become disorientated. With this in mind is there going to be any need for fearsome stare? Now I love fearsome stare and would never recommend anyone take it out of a 'normal' build but in your situation I can't really see it being that important, things dont need to be feared and disorientated. Also when you come to the later part of the game facing AV's you cant disorient or fear them, but you can hold them. Also if a boss isnt disorientated, try and hold him with PG, with fluffy aswell it should be easy enough. With PG you'll also be able to hold AVs etc. You aren't slotting FS til late anyway so maybe skip it all together? Take howling twilight in its place so you will have both your disorient moves early on to work together, then take petrifying gaze at lvl 28 and you've got a back plan for bossess and AV's.
Just a thought I had anyway -
I play a stone/inv brute (lvl 18 at the moment) and it did seem that way to me aswell. Think the problem is you don't just miss once, but always seems to get 3 or 4 misses in a row no matter what power you are trying.
