Quote:lol i use wasd to move and qe to strafe..the function keys to hit insp but i click on my powersA few years ago when I was playing on my brute I never used the keyboard for powers. I always used my mouse and clicked on each individual power in the trays. Well I also wasn't very good at pvp. But I was very comfortable using the mouse. My friend, a fellow gamer, told me the reason I wasn't very good was probably because I wasn't using binds on the keyboard. I never understood how that could be the problem, because using the mouse came so naturally.
Now that I've gotten more active in CoX, I've decided to take up using the keyboard. I haven't noticed a significant improvement to be honest. It's pretty much the same in pve. But in pvp i'm actually worse. Right now my main keys I'm using are the number keys and the "F1,F2,F3..." keys. I'm pretty sure this is incorrect though, especially since it takes a really long time to switch from WASD to the number keys to the F- keys and back again. The movement feels so unnatural. And since I'm looking at the monitor constantly, I end up not hitting the powers that intend to. Is there a particular method to keybindings that I should use? What keys do some of you pvpers use? Btw I have a Cyborg Keyboard if that helps. -
mine is 6 slotted with kin crash for bonuses...i never go into melee range so its just for the bonus

Quote:fire/regen scrapperSorry, I should have clarified... I meant what would you guys suggest for the scrapper build.
power pools:
Leaping: Combat Jumping,Super Jump)
Speed: Hasten,Super Speed
Fitness: Hurdle,Health,Stamina
Concealment:Grant Invis,Invis,Phase Shift (i dont like stealth cuz it slows ur movement)
Weapons Mastery: Targetting Drone,Web Grenade
dont forget to get confront
start with a blaster or corr... -
my fire/psy/mace wrecks regens like a beast!!!
but I would still go fire/ss/stone
that's one of the most well rounded toons in the game -
Quote:definately, for a bs scrapp u either wanna go one of 3 routesFor starters I am not an expert. But I know by experience that you most likely wont need conserve power since you chose stamina, quick recovery and physical perfection. Your end bar isn't going anywhere.
1: leaping, speed, leadership, concealment and blaze mastery, more of a blaster playstyle and land a headsplitter like blasters used to use bone smasher
2:speed,leaping,fitness,phase weapons mastery, for webs and targetting drone..
3:speed,phase,fighting,fitness with any epic, mostly a lolfiteklubber setup
ALWAYS TAKE CONFRONT!!!! it has a -75% range component and will make hitting ranged classes retardedly easy! -
1. devs don't care about us
2. yes all archetypes can be useful in competitive pvp BUT NOT ALL POWERSETS, most powersets can though and the only ones I believe are useless is any kind of ice blast or sonic ressoinance or however it's spelled haha
3: no u don't need to be 50 or be IOd to do well in zones, it certainly helps but it by no means required, I'd reccomend staying away from doms and VEATs till I can afford building it..IMO the best toons to learn pvp on is a x/nrg blaster or a /therm or pain corr...
4.and yes psy/em and mind/fire are still super winall builds and will remain so for a while I believe..tho I wreck both of em with my fire/elec -
I don't have mids with me since on on my phone right now but the first thing I noticed is there is no point in taking the concealment pool unless u take phase!!!
unless ur a lolfiteklubber tru warrir type guy phase is important...
when I get to my pc I'll help u out on mids -
try making a build and I'll help u from there
-
DR is only used for KS'ing everyone haha...elec is far better

Quote:I don't get rooted when I throw fire blast..but I play a Dom so ?Phoenix, most these guy's are talking about zone play. If you are doing arena (which you have been doing). Your attack chain should be Blaze, Flares, and Fire blast. Reason Fire blast being last is because of the horrible rooting it now has on it. If i was you on test, i would double proc blaze, or flares. If you are quick enough on your attacks you should be able to get Blaze, Flares, Fire Blast, Flares. Before the target is is phased, getting heals or evading. The reason why psi is so good atm is because of the 4 attacks and the delayed dmg. (mini spike). If they nerf psi (which i doubt anytime soon) fire will be back on top as far as the ladder is concerned. That and archery.....lol (<3 you barrier)
yea..... -
I just cycle flares and fireblast like a madman!
but srsly I don't have a proc in blaze so that almost never gets used -
-
body mastery is useless ona regen..ud get alot more mileage taking weapons or goin staminaless and taking fire mastery
I don't have mods ATM but hook up w/ king accolade, he is the only claws/regen in the game I consider to be a threat -
that build is bad...srry
look back at other Dom builds in this forum to get a better Idea of how to build -
inv/ss would be most viable
specially with stone mastery -
build for +HP,+dam,+rech in that order...lev mastery is more beginner friendly as t comes with a res shield and makes u much more suvivable, and hiber is a more friable escape power...oh and proc the hell outta ur attacks haha
-
what kind of Dom is it? and what do u plan on doing w/ ur toon?
