  1. Kind of surprised their reasoning was "marketing", though with the amount of shilling their doing for B:TBatB, Generator Rex, and Ben 10, I guess it doesn't surprise me.

What made me mad was that they moved the last two or three eps to Saturday morning, and my DVR missed a week of it with that change. I know they needed to move things around with such a heavy Friday line up, but, knowing they had one that seemed generally strong, why did they let Adult Swim take over the 9-10 hour? Had that not happened, it could have stayed on Friday nights and played out it's season, even if they had no plans to renew it. Which irks me.
  2. Currently Playing:
4th Edition DnD, Living Forgotten Realms. I have two characters getting close to Paragon tier, a Wizard and a Swordmage. I generally play once or twice a month, but there are periods when there are no higher tier adventures to play in.

Hollow Earth Expedition: A friend has been running a solo/GM character game for me with this. We thoroughly enjoyed the game when we got to play it at Origins last year, and this was a good way to keep this going.

Pathfinder: I have two characters in Pathfinder Society play, an 8th level ranseur wielding fighter and a 2nd level monk. Play is all online via TTopRPG and Skype. Will eventually be playing in the Serpent's Skull module.

    Currently Running:
4th Edition DnD, Living Forgotten Realms. As we don't (or at least didn't) have nearly the GM's to cover the number of people who wanted to play. I kind of burned myself out, and now only GM it once a month or so.

Scion: Similar vein with Hollow Earth, I run this for my friend who runs that for me. Mostly with horrible understanding of the rules, since I'd only played the game once and had no other experience with any White Wolf products.

I'd love to play other games, but it seems like in my area there isn't a whole lot of interest in anything other than DnD.
  3. So, has anyone caught the last two eps of Symbionic Titan and Generator Rex? Or, were most of you like me and missed them due to a)not seeing any notice that new eps had started back up and b)moving Titan to Wednesday nights?

*sighs* After just getting caught up on all the eps that aired last year, I was hoping I'd catch when the new ones were starting up, but now I've missed two eps of each, and CN has a habit of not replaying these shows, so I'm basically out of luck I think (unless I go find them "out there", but I haven't done that in ages and really don't feel like it). Anyone else miss these eps (or catch them)?
  4. *sigh* Here we go again with this error. Previously, up until today, it had patched no problem, after I fixed the issue last time. Now, I get the same ole same ole with the /tempfile. Now, my machine has it's fits with me and administrator privileges (I'm always on as Admin), having previously yelled at me for trying to install a flash player update, so perhaps that's the issue again here. Rebooting generally helps, so I'm going to try patching again tomorrow, as it's too late to do anything at this point.
  5. I had (more like have, still) the issue you are having. Mine is a PC, again, windows 7. TJ helped me out the last time (copy to the desktop and load from there), but this time when I tried it it didn't work at all. I got the same set of error messages that I'd gotten before.

Tech Support told me to do something about sliding down some security scale, but for the life of me I can't find it within the system. To me, it's like City doesn't recognize that I'm the admin of the system and allow it to make modifications to the location the program is stored.

Re-installing now, as I couldn't get anything to work. I can't keep doing this every time there's a new patch to the game, it's too frustrating and time consuming.
  6. TruEdge

    New patch Error

Yeah, I had this same issue last night, Windows 7 as well. Had it with last weeks patch too, and support told me to re-install the game. Yes, it fixed it, but it was a 7 hour fix.

Texas Justice, your fix seems to be working for me as well. Now, when Senior Technical Support gets back with me (as I put in a new ticket last night), I can give them some more info.
  7. Removed the doublefusion folder and got stuck at the Downloading File Manifest part of the updater. Good news it didn't cause the error I had, but it didn't work for finishing to install the update either. So I put the folder back, needless to say.

I'm figuring I'm going to need to re-install the whole game. Joy of joys (my most current disc is Issue 6).
  8. I get this error too, though I don't get the (x86) part of it. I have mine on my D drive, in D:\COH. When I tried it this afternoon, I got the error stating that it couldn't write the coh.exe or cohupdater.exe to the tempfile, or something similar to that. After that, I get the cannot open D:\COH/tempfile, and after that it's the cannot write -1 bytes to D:\COH/tempfile, which just then repeats.

Have my ticket in with support, they needed me to run GameAdvisor, so we'll see if anything comes from that.

Running Windows 7 64bit, core i7 processor, 6 gigs of ram, and an ATI 5850 graphics card.
  9. Could you expand on what you did to fix this? I have the same issue at the moment, and can't seem to figure out what you did to correct it.

    Here ya go

"Ehhem, fellow super beings of the Rogue Isles, Dr. Brainstorm here. I’m broadcasting from an undisclosed location to announce my latest breakthrough!

"Many of you have inquired as to my whereabouts since I brought you the wonders of the invention system. I have good news for you all! Upon completion of the Hypothetical Framework the universe revealed to me a profound secret.

"Late one night in my lab, as I placed the final piece of Rikti technology into the Hypothetical Framework, a glorious vision appeared before me. The Framework revealed to me a mystical subterranean web, invisible to the naked eye. This network represents the sacred geometry of the earth, threads of energy that converge to create vortices of power over particularly special places and even people.

"Somehow my Hypothetical Framework opened an access portal onto this mystical network, an energy based control panel for super power distribution. Knowing we must harness this newfound information, I built a monitoring system into every invention workbench. Every time an invention is made, I am able to tap into the power network, gathering information about this mystical nexus.

"Based on the information gathered through your workbenches, I have determined that every super powered being taps into these energy threads at their own resonance. This individual frequency determines what powers each hero or villain can gain mastery over. No matter our origin, each of us accesses our available powers in a unique way.

"Since that day, I have diligently worked to alter these restrictions placed so unfairly upon us.

"Using my newly built kinetic capacitor I discovered a way to alter the resonance of these energy strands. After the er…massive release of energy generated in my lab with the kinetic capacitor, I appear to have sufficiently altered the resonance of these energy lines. Despite the minor….mishap in the lab, I am proud to announce that I, Dr. Brainstorm, have opened the door to new powers here on the Rogue Isles, allowing new super powered citizens of the Rogue Isles to access an additional primary and secondary power to choose from!"

    LONGBOW Report

    RE: Peregrine Island Explosion
    From: Agent Crimson, Alpha-Black Unit

During a recent mission to prevent Malta raids on Crey science facilities, a hero I work with was alerted to the existence of a secret Crey lab. I was unable to locate the lab until last week when I intercepted reports of an explosion under the streets of Peregrine. Upon locating the entrance to a subterranean facility, I discovered the remains of what appears to have been a well-equipped laboratory. Inside I found the badly charred remnants of a large mechanical device.

I also located a security system and was able to extract surveillance video. This video was passed onto Dr. Advance in the science and technology division and I have included his interpretation of the video below.

Shortly after the explosion, I began to receive reports of new heroes able to use previously inaccessible powers. I am convinced that these are connected and will investigate further.

    RE: Security Video Report
From: Dr. Advance, Longbow Science and Technology Division

This video, although highly degraded, appears to show Dr. Brainstorm activating a massive Resonance Manipulator, also known as a kinetic capacitor. Many scientists have proposed that it might be possible to create an oscillating energy field able to reach a strength of over 10,000 megateslas - roughly equivalent to a neutron star.

While this device is clearly not of that magnitude, the size and blast radius of the ensuing explosion suggests that Dr. Brainstorm managed to generate close to 2,000 megateslas.

It has long been understood that even heroes who gain their abilities through technology, nature, or science are somehow special, the pinnacle of human achievement. Many theorize that these super-powered beings are connected into some sort of power nexus beyond our comprehension. Although the exact nature of this energy grid is unknown, I believe that it acts as a control network for super power distribution.

I propose that this video shows Dr. Brainstorm attempting to open a conduit onto this energy grid. By generating this massive energy field, it appears that Dr. Brainstorm is attempting to pull the earth’s cosmic balance off kilter. Clearly he did not anticipate the ensuing explosion as he barely escaped the destruction.

The explosion suggests that this energy grid relies on a delicate balance that must be maintained. In upsetting the balance of the earth’s geodesy Dr. Brainstorm may have caused a rift. Although I do not yet fully understand the implications, I remind you that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Crimson tells me there are reports of heroes able to access new powers. If heroes are able to access new powers it seems likely that the same may also be true for the villains of the Rogue Isles.

Be sure to come back tomorrow when Dr. Brainstorm will reveal the complete list of Proliferated Powersets that each Archetype will be receiving in Issue 12: Midnight Hour! of City of Heroes/City of Villains.

Edit: Darn you WHF! Simultaneous posts!

I don' think it's so much that AT's are being ported, just more like the powersets that would thematically fit are being ported over to them.

    Posi talks

Take a look at this, Posi said 20 powersets were getting spread out over the AT's.
  13. For those at work:

More Real Numbers: Players can now display stats on powers before they choose them enabling more informed power selection and new temporary powers allow players to display enemy stats.
  14. Holy crap this is looking awesome!!!

So, was I reading it right that each AT will get one primary and secondary power from its corresponding AT (example: Scrapper-Stalker share a good number of powers, minus ninjitsu and energy aura, and energy melee.)? If so that's awesome!

Also, finally get to see those Roman Soldier costumes that were previewed so long ago. Finally, my incarnation of Athena will have an ancient style armor costume!
  15. Ok, came up with another concept

    Variant 2

Again, very blue based, and, as has been noted, I use a lot of blue. Nothing wrong with it, just that its in the majority of my character's outfits. I was thinking maybe going green/gold/white or green/gold/black, or some combination therein. Of course, I'm open to any color combo, I had just thought of green after fiddling with this last costume.

But, maybe I should wait. Apparently there is a very hardsuit-esque set coming to the training room in the next patch. That might give me some more ideas. But please, feel free to post any ideas you may have, the more ideas I get, the more unique my costume can be. And it'll help me with my Costume Editor skills for new alts
  16. Interesting. I like how you've got the colors blending into one another. Not sure I like the eye plugs, but its definetely an interesting piece. Thanks for giving me stuff to think about Starwind.

Face 13 is the one I'm using, for anyone else that wants to take a stab at a costume
  17. Yeah, I liked it too, but it just does't quite feel good enough to me. I've seen some amazing costumes around (I lurk a lot ) and I always want to see more. This time, I just happen to want to see it applied to my costume idea, as I really feel like I'm in a rut (re: my boring blend of 2 colors for my other 4 costumes).

The other thing is I was maybe hoping to pull off a "futuristic/hi-tech/cyber" look withought having to go with a full out armor costume like I've done. But I've realized I'm nowhere near as creative in the costume editor to take full advantage of its options. Thats why I came looking for some help.

But glad you like that rough idea
  18. Hi all-
I'm looking for some help on what will be my 5th slot for my Katana/SR scrapper, TruEdge. He is of magic origin, as the blade he wields endows him with his warrior prowess. Short backstory, he was an exchange student to Japan, and was living at a shrine. At the shrine was a blade, used by the priestess of the village about a thousand years ago to defend her village from demons. She succeeded, but at the cost of her life, and due to her sacrifice the gods contained her essence of duty and honor into the blade. Destiny (being a spiritual entity) decides that Tru is worthy of wielding the blade to battle back the forces of darkness, and "coerces" him to take it from its pedestal for inspection.

What I'm looking for is a "cyber" suit, if you will. Something tech based, to go with the Talsorian Katana when I can get enough merits to afford it. I have a rough idea what I'd like to do, but that doesn't really signify what I want. So I turn to you, oh good people of the art forum. Help me come up with something good, maybe a decent 3 color combo and rather tech-ish. Use whatever you want, be it Vanguard (I'll get the merits) and up to the 30 month vet rewards. For other reference shots, please see his other 4 costumes located here. Forgive the small size, i'm no expert when it comes to posting photos on the web.

    Thanks!
