  1. Blastess would love to do Synapse tonight after 8pm - I think that I am out of level for Positron TF.
  2. SNHS is the Defender only SG in the 1AT coalition. There is also the Rad Rangers which is only Rad Rad Defenders but better to PM Doulos about them.

    Fire Rad build

This is the build I eventually went for. What a laugh, I open with Radiation Infection on the toughest member of the group, use fire cages to lock them down (which rarely misses with RI on them), Char the toughest member and then run in with Hotfeet. Dish out Char and Fire Cages as required.
If there are a couple of bosses I will use Accelerated Metabolism first. I used this in the Hollows, Steel and Skyway on yellow to red conning leutenants and yellow conning bosses with great effect. I still need to work on my role in a team as the only team I have worked with so far was ..eh ..less then successful Even SK to the highest member of the team everything was Red or Purple to me. 3 team wipes later and we all called it quits I did learn that with RI working and Hotfeet I can almost tank.

    1 Char
    1 Radiant Aura
    2 Fire Cages
    4 Radiation Infection
    6 Combat Jumping
    8 Accelerated Metabolism
    10 Hot Feet
    12 Flashfire
    (14 Superjump)
  4. Tristar would be interested in the 2nd respec. I am working late (again) so don't wait for me if I am not there.

    Fire Rad build

This was the build I had started to lean towards. The End drain is horrible with my build at the moment. I feel I just need to hurt them quicker so they drop before I do

    Fire Rad build

still have a free respec up my sleave. I had read the hotfeet had improved with the double damage on held villains since I6. I agree on travel power.

anyone think it is worth swapping hotfeet for smoke? Rad allows me to increase my damage to them as well.

    Fire Rad build

I have a Fire/Rad controller about to hit lvl 12 and realised that I haven't really prepared for my travel power. All the powers from the primary and secondary are so good. What should I drop?

    1 Char
    1 Radiant Aura
    2 Fire Cages
    4 Radiation Infection
    6 Smoke
    8 Acelerated Metabolism
    10 Enervating Field
(12 Flashfire or hotfeet or Combat Jumping)
    (14 Superjump)
If I dropped smoke then I would rather have hotfeet than say combat jump. Any suggestions?
  8. I have met more emp/Psi than say Emp/Dark and emp/nrg (might be it was popular at the time I started and not so now). To be fair they didn't use as much of their secondary as perhaps I do.

It depends on your style of play. One of the guides described a pure empath or a balanced empath. One was purely team oriented and the other could hold their own/solo. I consider myself a balanced empath. I can't not let off a couple of blasts if it won't interfere with the team (sometimes even if it does )

Psi has the equivalent to my hold, snipe and cone blast along with the dodgy disorient, instead of the -Acc of dark you get a -rchg (I think), could really help the team. I would say give it a whirl on test. If you have played a blaster or controller at any point you should be able to judge the aggro you will get.
Note - I have heard this from others but have never done so myself you understand
If you do get aggro, run and jump over another team member (preferably a tough one ) and sometimes they lose interest.
  9. Is psychic blast any good? Does the Pope have a beer with his Pizza?

I have seen lots of Empaths with Psi, it is one of the popular combinations. The snipe, Psionic Lance, is very long range, All Psychic blasts do damage that very few villains resist. It even has a good sleep I think.

    look here http://cityofheroes.gameamp.com/coh/viewPowers/31.php

Don't know how up to date it is but it will give you an idea what powers you want to take.

also I would take it onto Test server to try out the respec a couple of times with different powers if you have never tried them before..
  10. I had thought that Tankers were pretty much superfluous on a team post I6 and ED but after watching a couple of the Armoured Corps yesterday I have changed my mind. They need a lot more TLC from the team but they are still viable.

    My ED build

might be worth tryin on the test server first. I thought my build was ok but now find I can't take down an even level DE boss solo.

I chose Moonbeam as my main blast but even with a couple of interupt reducers I find that if I have a swarm on me it is almost impossible to fire it off, same with Storm Shamans and Ice rain. It is always enough to interrupt the snipe.

I agree with Paragon Girl - Defenders (mainly)are a support AT and are invited onto teams as such. I dropped a couple of blasts to take the leadership pool this time. I am not 100% convinced this was a good idea but certainly Tactics appears to be worth running(2xAcc, 1xEndRed)I am just not sure it was worth losing the 2 blasts for.
  12. Interesting discussion. The only thing that I noticed was that no one has mentioned the empaths secondaries. Not as useful as the controllers primaries but certainly a few holds, blasts and debuffs of their own.

    PvP Complainers

I was going to suggest a base raid but a fight in a shoe box wouldn't be much fun.

    Verbal PvP

I was one of the heroes in Bloody Bay as well. Got hunted by a stalker for a good 10 mins but eventually gave Ghost Wolf the slip even though he kept telling me he was not the one I was looking for. Hid between
PvP is good for a laugh. I especially love the aerobatic duels in the sky

Also noticed that the stealthed folk leave a trail in the water when they run across it. Nice touch.
  15. I wouldn't mind even a reduced activation time on the heals we have especially AP. It appears to take an age to get going. Also it would be nice, if they want us to start using AP as a regular heal rather than a panic button, to reduce the time that we can't be healed as well.

  16. Found that out last night as well. Heal Aura was barely keeping up with the damage after I slotted 3/3 heal/rchg. As stated used Heal Other and Absorb Pain a lot more and died because of it.
In respec I dumped Hasten and Superspeed in favour of the leadership pool, it's a little leap of faith on my part but I fancy a change. I was getting very complacent with my invisability from Stealth and Superspeed. 3 slotted tactics and left it running. With 2 ACC in tentacles and tactics running I was able to hit and hold mobs (minions and Leut) that were purple to me. Others in the team said they noticed the difference as well. I died a few times with the aggro from firing off the tentacles but I was debt free at the end of each mission.
I never noticed a point in the missions where endurance was a problem for me and I don't have stamina.

I don;t know if I like ED but I do think they have reached their objective that no power is a "must have".

    PS
Also respec'd in TP Foe - wish I hadn't. It seems to attract a lot of attention even when it misses. Good for pulling but I have moonbeam for that. Maybe it will be more use in PvP??
  17. Well I tried 2 of the zones last night. Sirens call was good fun running around in a good team fighting in the hot zones. In the end it was a bit like hunting in the hollows so I moved on to Warburg. I managed to scout the entire island untouched then got mugged on the way back to the carrier
I managed to TP out of harms way and lost my pursuer. I then had a look at the beach where hero pounded on hero. I can't say I liked it much. I will reserve final judgement until I play on a team versus villains.
After I was spotted and attacked I let loose with Tenebrous Tentacles and was suitably unimpressed with the results. I don't think I hit one of my opponents. I did use my wedding band power to save me from the attentions of a claws scrapper but when his 3 teammates arrived I went down. I think I will have to rethink my plan for PvP. I don't see me actually taking part in combat. I will need to flit in and out healing and buffing or put range enhancements in to work out of the vicinity of combat.

    PS
I would like to thank all the hero's who didn't attack me when I popped a res rather than go all the way back to hospital. Much appreciated
  18. Yeah - needs a little work

Must say I like the fact we can visit other SG bases too.
  19. /em puts head in hands
Ah well - at least I can create a villain if I want. Or get into the SG base.
  20. I tried Tristar out on Saturday night and even with the current slotting I didn't notice any real changes to the way I play.
Bought CoV this morning so that I can try the PvP areas.
