Considering dropping healing aura
I'd keep it just to heal myself...
yep - agreed. my healer is only lvl 36; but like kitty - i would keep aura for healin myself. hav fd that in the over 30 game - depending more and more on heal other for significant heal.
Quite like the ED changes - its reminds me of healing at lower levels again! it actually is mroe of a challenge than before!
Hav always argued the AP - VV impt for healer build. Another major difference, pre-ED; my healer could easily mish with 3-5 lvls higher = not possible now.
Found that out last night as well. Heal Aura was barely keeping up with the damage after I slotted 3/3 heal/rchg. As stated used Heal Other and Absorb Pain a lot more and died because of it.
In respec I dumped Hasten and Superspeed in favour of the leadership pool, it's a little leap of faith on my part but I fancy a change. I was getting very complacent with my invisability from Stealth and Superspeed. 3 slotted tactics and left it running. With 2 ACC in tentacles and tactics running I was able to hit and hold mobs (minions and Leut) that were purple to me. Others in the team said they noticed the difference as well. I died a few times with the aggro from firing off the tentacles but I was debt free at the end of each mission.
I never noticed a point in the missions where endurance was a problem for me and I don't have stamina.
I don;t know if I like ED but I do think they have reached their objective that no power is a "must have".
PS
Also respec'd in TP Foe - wish I hadn't. It seems to attract a lot of attention even when it misses. Good for pulling but I have moonbeam for that. Maybe it will be more use in PvP??
yeah all heals are now 3 heal/3 recharge.
leadership pool are all 6 slotted with 2 end red and 4 other (either to hit or deff). excep[t for assault obviously. Not sure how i'm going to slot these when i respec, may drop down to 4 slots rather than 6.
Likewise, still not sure how to reslot stamina and hasten or whether to drop them...
Pre ED i could use healing aura as a blanket heal to get teams outof the danger zone and then use AP and Heal other to heal those who had taken more damage (usually tanks ).
Post ED, like I said previously, healing aura doesn't seem to be anywhere near as effective in this capacity.
Would anybody agree that it needs its base healing level raised?
NB: This isn't a dig at ED, I actually like it. I just have issues with the low healing value of healing aura now. My heals have very roughly changed as follows:
Pre ED Post ED
Healing Aura 460 240
Heal other 920 500
Absorb Pain 2011 1000
This is with 6 slotted healing green so's pre ED and 6 slotted green so's 3 healing/3 recharge speed post ED.
Heal Other and Absorb Pain still do large, noticable life saving heals (tho i wouldnt mind an extra 100/200 points of heal in heal other). I think healing aura should definitely gain another 100/150 ish points on its base heal tho.

I wouldn't mind even a reduced activation time on the heals we have especially AP. It appears to take an age to get going. Also it would be nice, if they want us to start using AP as a regular heal rather than a panic button, to reduce the time that we can't be healed as well.

i am dropping stamina from TG after testing on test server. As far as the heal i am actually ok with the curent values since the current HpM is high enough with 3/3 slotting.
Another 100/150 points though wouldnt hurt is true however i got these points at times of need from build up.
TG, you say your dropping stamina, do you have end reductions in your healing powers then or have you put any elsewhere? I tried it without and in teams it was ok but soloing was a mare.

Healing aura is just to useful to drop, even if it does not keep up with the damage being taken. It'd be nice if we had another self heal power/self effect power.
I just repsec'd and chucked clear mind(or whateverits called) as I was getting fed up with stupid heroes demanding "buffs"..That and I wanted my Rad snipe power instead, much morse useful for soloing.
Only big complaint with empathy defenders... People want us to join their teams, but never want to join ours to help us with missions.
I cant wait for the first heroe to attack me in pvp and then beg me later on in pve for med aid, oh how I will laugh.

no end red in powers but prolly our playstyle vary as i never solo with defender..i originally created empath because is a full teaming set so i have never soloed with TG hence my build has almost no attacks and is heavily emphasized on team support...so i went for the 3/3 in healing powers and heavy boosts in buffs plus some power pools that assist team even more like leadership and teleport.

Just to add to TG's answer... I've never had Stamina, and I'm going to be going 3 heal/3 recharge in healing powers as well. I am going to put some end reductions in my toggles though, and I have Conserve Power from my epic. Having played around unrespecced a decent amount, I don't have trouble with endurance really, even before my respec.
Like TG though, I'm a team-oriented empath. I actually don't have any attacks. I can imagine things could be fairly different if I were wanting to really fight as well as heal and buff.

hmmm thanks for adding that yeah i forgot to say i slot end reds in toggles as well now.Is true though for empathy builds that orientate in fighting as well as partial healing there needs to be stamina in build or osme balance with their heals..like i said my empath is fully orientated in healing and buffing and never at fighting except the emergency atomic blast that gives my team a quick getaway...
still toying with my final build but i was in a team of fully respecced post ED heros last night and i was much more able to keep up with the damage...
Gonna test dropping stamina and see where that gets me... 3 extra powers could be highly advantageous...

I just had my first major gaming session since Ed. 7 of us were doing the praetorian story arc on tenacious. Most of the time things were fine but when the [censored] started to hit the fan I found that healing aura just doesn't cut it any more.
I'm level 47 and have healing aura 6 slotted with 3 healing so's and 3 recharge so's and i found that that it just wasn't upto the task. the healing ability of this power was inadequete when compared to the amount of damage being recieved by the team. I was, at best, postponing the inevitable.
I find myself using absorb pain increasingly often which generally saves the team at the cost of my own fragile existence. is anyone else experiencing similar issues or just me?
