Quote:That sounds familiar. I think I may have led that one. I was on Jensen Maxwell my dark/dark.Hi Guys,
was on an all Defender MoITF a few weeks back and it was a hoot. We rocked the roof and got the badge without raising a sweat.
It was a real happy team that got together just for fun and the Master thing was always going to be the secondary objective with no blame attached to anybody if we failed it.
So go for it you Def's and you will be smiling at the end.
Cheers -
What consitutes an offender. Anyone who wants to make themselves feel special for simply playing the defender AT to its fullest.

Quote:I think the point many people are trying to reinforce is that aim to be more than just a healer because even the empathy set contains buffs.Only that you not aim to be a healer. Every set is great but even Empathy is better off focusing on its buffs, not the heals.
Buffs & Debuffs are on par with healing as they all are meant to keep you from dying. -
Here are a few tidbits
Time managment is another aspect of being a leader. Nothing is more frustrating waiting for a team to begin or a mission to be selected. There is no rule against running missions with less than 8 and picking up in between missions.
Understanding the dynamics of the different ATs comes with time. Some examples are knowning what brute is squishy or what defender has no heal (I put that in for the rabid anti healer crowd), what scrappers are aoe machines, etc. But as you build a team you should have a conceptual understanding how a team will perform.
Last piece - Do not be afraid to try and form your own team. -
Quote:Leaving the numbers out for a moment, as others can provide better feedback then me, I'd suggest approaching this with a different angle:
Which one of those is the most fun for you to play?
They are all decent choices, and with enough investment each can be made quite formidable.
You will be spending a lot of time on that character solo and in teams, so go with the one who 'feels' the most fun for you. This can be based on the look, the costume, the name, the social connections of that particular character, RP reason, the animations and the flow of combat with that particular set, or even badges (maybe some of anniversary badges).
It's a Scrapper, so it will kick **** regardless. However, at least in my opinion, if you spent that much time and virtual money on a character, it should be one you enjoy the most in and out of combat.
All things being equal though, I'd look into the DM/Shield.
I agree with Sunwind - Go with the one the feels the most fun for you. I have 3 tricked out scrappers and yet I still play one ten times more than the others. -

Quote:You should know better. The devs didn't introduce the XXX bonus pack and it certaintly isn't Issue 70-1 (See I am making you work for that).I thought this thread was about a literal XXX themed ITF
I am dissapoint
All Blaster ITF - Friday 8 Est or 9 Est. Any prefernce on the time? -
Over the weekend I recieved many many tells about the all MM ITFs we did. Now I will leave it to the first person to post an AT to select what the next All XXX ITF will be.
Once that is selected we can work on the time.
Master Mind - Completed
Blaster - Completed
Controller - Completed
Tanker - Completed
VEAT - Completed
Defender - Completed
Scrapper - Completed
Kheldian - Completed
Brute - Completed
Dominator -Completed
Corruptor - Completed
Stalker -Completed -
Quote:Agreed. There is another varient on this as well. When you join a TF and you are the 7th person on the team and the leader says we we are looking for a controller. The team had a brute, a scrapper, 3 defenders and a blaster. Hmm maybe they were looking for that fire/kin for vengence.... (I kid I have one myself)Usually the worst PUGs I have been on are not bad because of players with odd builds or lack of experience, but instead with a "know-it-all" player who insists on trying to micromanage everyone elses characters and how they "should" play them. Aside from sucking the fun out of the experience, people like this almost always tend to "know" a hell of a lot less than they like to think.
And Lastly, Je_Saist you must be a bad pug magnet. -
The Second ALL MM ITF took pretty much the same time 1:27. We had a small wake up when some demons decided they wanted to play with Rommy too early. Everyone kept their cool and we adapted and Rommy went down easy.
The real question is what ALL XXX ITF should we do next. Or All MM LGTF was suggested as well. -
All MM ITF was a complete success. I felt really bad that 2 people couldn't get on the team. See below for details on the next one.
Total Time 1:30.
First Mission we split into 2 team in the caves. Then we proceeded to walk up the hill and take out the ambush and rescuse the princess... wait wrong story rescue the oracle. Things went smoothly.
Second Mission same plan. We split into two teams. At one point an angry minotaur with amazing hitting skills even when debuff slaughtered a few of us but in the end it was the mobs, the cysts and the ambushes all on the floor.
Third mission we just cut a path from the boat to the computer, killing everything in the way. The valley was not laggy and we moved through like butter. For fun we pulled Rommy onto the computer. Thinking back we should have got reqium too. By the time we pulled requim we cleared the top platform as well.
Fourth Mission was a well orchestrated team taking the left path. We cleared every 5th around the platform as well as clearing the platform. We pulled to the grass and I aggroed the healing nitcues. We dropped him with ease. Everyone listened and made it look simple.
I know we had a good number of Darks and two FFs. We havd some robots, demons, thugs and zombies oh my.
As to the repeat performance. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY 9:00 est again. Preference will be given to Quest and Demon Hunter who missed out. -
Quote:I disagree with you on the consulting. Companies do not terminate rights or attempt to on whims.I don't think they consulted anybody. NCSoft was already taking a financial pounding from the game's collapse. I think their focus at that time was to get as far away from Destination Games and Tabula Rasa as possible.
Were they wrong in terminating Richard Garriott? As NCSoft did it, yes. -
Quote:I have a feeling NCSoft is aware of the weakness in their position on his "voluntary termination". I wonder who they consulted to come up with that legal strategy...I guess it all boils down to technicalities. If he left to go to space without telling NCSoft and not telling them when he'll be back, then that's pretty much voluntary termination/abandonment. Unfortunately, the jury didn't see it that way. :\
In any case, details would be nice, ya know? Did NCSoft call him? Could he prove that his stock options would have went up in enough time to make up this $28 million dollars?
I have a feeling NCSoft is going to appeal this decision. -
Quote:Good point on Rommy. Spliting the healing nictus is going to be the key. I am pretty good at getting the healing nictus split from Rommy provided people listen which most people I have run the ITF with do.
That might actually help, if people can co-ordinate nicely and split up. We realized this after we finished.
The major problem we had was during the fight with Rommy. There were so many pets, that he just kept healing off them. I don't remember quite vividly how we managed to beat the equilibrium (we couldn't hurt Rommy, and Rommy and minions couldn't really hurt us). But I think we had people dismiss their melee-oriented pets. So, I'd suggest you plan ahead for the final fight. It was the most frustrating moment. xD -

Quote:I haven't started planning on how to approach the missions yet because that will really depend upon the team make up. I have run enough ITFs to have a good sense of what to expect. The first mission will frame how the 2nd and 3 are done. The 3rd mission computer usually solidifies how I pick to approach Rommy in the last mission.
It really isn't. Me and my friends tried it once. Absolute headache for two and a half hours. Longest ITF I've ever done, and it was just so chaotic and unorganized. We had a total of around 50+ pets without Gang Wars. It was ridiculous.
I hope you guys manage to enjoy it more than I did. Good luck! xD
Thinking about 50 pets in a cave, depending on the team make up, I may split the team into two groups on the second mission.
And thank you for the well wishing there. -
So Wisht was lamenting about not having done an all MM ITF last night. After a quick chat in the Virtue TF 2010 channel, we set up the all MM ITF for Friday night (tonight) at 9:15 Eastern.
I will be forming up the TF starting around 9:00 with the target start at 9:15. There are 5 spots open, first come first serve. The three reserved slots are for Strange Jane, Wisht and myself.
I do not care if you are 50 or not. Any MM 35+ will be welcome to come.
I wil advertise in Virtue TF 2010 and Virtue LFG Alpha.
P.S. if the server crashes, it was not our fault for running up the valley in the third mission.... honest. -
Who cares about Hami, I am trying to level my new tanker. On a positive note we did complete the 2nd TF mission just before it crashed. I can't wait to log in and see it rolled back so we can do it again!

Quote:It's extremely counterproductive, but it happens for a reason.
Joe Gamer isn't happy with the way Moderator X is managing General Chat. Maybe he got banned for something he considers trivial, maybe he's being shouted down for his opinions, maybe he sees favoritism. Whatever the reason, Joe is upset. The important thing to remember is that as far as Joe Gamer's happiness with General Chat is concerned, it does not matter whether or not Moderator X is a good or bad moderator. It only matters if Joe thinks he's a bad moderator.
So Joe finds a few friends that also dislike Moderator X and his group, and they create the channel Server Chat. Now, you have two "anything and everything" channels, and what's worse is that sooner or later, someone is going to disagree with Joe Gamer's mod style and make another channel.
Whether Joe is a whiny little snot or a legitimate victim depends on the person and your interpretation. In most cases, if he's a jerk himself, his channel will fail. If enough people think he has a legitimate reason for being upset with Moderator X, his channel will succeed. In most of these cases who is the "good guy" and who is the "bad guy" is entirely up to interpretation.
I have been thinking about this in general alot of late. This is the reason why teaming channels should be limited to discussions about teaming. I have noticed this problem in the Vitrue TF 2010 channel more and more and it gets to the point that there so much non TF chat that the purpose of the channel is negated. There are plenty of channels dedicated to conversations and that is where the conversations will be held. Otherwise the favoritism issues arise especially when two different moderators are inconsisent in their approaches to moderate the same channel. -
Quote:I agree with Emberly on this. The purpose of these channels regardless of their channel names was to provide a resource for the players to link up and group together.Competition and alternatives aren't positives when the goal is to unite people in teams.
I applaud Qunich for setting up the original channel, but I do not see any benefit in making yet another channel under the pretense of naming being a "little too long". Plenty of people found Virtue LFG Alpha without problem of the name being a "little too long". -
I hope you have better luck getting back into your Inv/EM tanker. I can't stand mine since they screwed up the energy transfer animation. Sadly I think Hunter Max will be my first 50 to delete.

Yeah I was a little tired when I posted about moving the mandatory tier 1. If the stuff is dying so quickly, unless you are at +4/+8 you could also consider tweaking the difficulty for more expeas as well.
