Just because 1 person finds a exploit, does mean the rest will.
And one set of mobs does not define the group.
How does he do against Malta?
The issue is not if one person with billions of inf and the best enhancements can survive what a scrapper or tanker could sleep through, but can a person with normal SO's survive and excel?

    HOLY MASS ASSUMPTIONS BATMAN!

Never seeing the video I can't comment on the with ease or the exploit claims, but Emapthy Defenders, like all Defenders generally solo alot better than most people realize. They just are soloing alot slower.

The 1 hour challenge is a good measure. If I recall correctly my emp/dark made 8 million influence running radios for one hour solo.
  2. Off the top of my head all inhereints are linked to the primiary sets. Milady's suggestion is not geared toward the primary sets but toward secondary.

The real problem is defender's can't use thier primary on themselves except for a limited number of powers. If that is going to be the excuse to change negligence into an attack buff, it still defeats the primary purpose of defenders, which is to defend.

The inherient should be changed to provide the defender with a benefit related toward the primary sets not the secondary sets.
  3. Negilgence is a perfectly fine defender AT power.

Having seen Tornelco's defender solo AVs and Giant Monsters, I think I'd be happy with that damage on my dominators.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Negating regen versus doing more damage than the regen of AVs is two seperate things. The speed at which one goes down is another.

-Your- defender isnt known for its damage.

Try not to speak for mine.

Your defender isn't known for your damage.

Defender damage is sub par overall. Once it is accepted you get used to it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Despite apologia, the fact remains that defenders hit like girls with muscular dystrophy. I know it's for balance. It's just one of those things that makes you sigh when you are reminded of it. Defenders are still an amazing AT, but just like scrappers aren't known for their debuffs, defenders aren't known for their damage dealing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree Defendes really do bring alot to the table. There is no shame in doing less damage then others.

    'HEALER' RAGE

You'll get along famously with the folks in the Defender forums, I can tell.

Defender forum is the angriest forum of them all. All the bitter people like to hang out there so they can [censored].

  9. I feel for ya. I made a hero using an old D&D character name and got a tell last night saying I must really like superman. I told them I didn't know what they were talking about.

The guy then tells me my heros name is the name of a villain in a superman comic except I use the last name as the first name and the first as the last.

It will be a sad day for me if they get genericized.

I can't help if you two don't know when to jump. Just kidding. Seriously though, I haven't had an issue with sprinting stunned mobs for at least a year.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Trans, maybe you can make a demo of video of what you mean. I tested it a few times this morning. I see absolutely no effect between CoD and OG.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okies, I did a demo using demorecord. You need to bear with me. What is the easiest method and place to upload it.

    .

If you run CoD and jump into a group with OG running, the mobs are not in "100 yard dash mode" and will stun quickly with barely a stagger. Broadsword makes quick work of minions.

I sense people who complain about the running aren't using CoD.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I fail to see what CoD has to do with anything. Stunned mobs wander with ridiculous speed. CoD will do nothing to prevent this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Stunned mobs do not wander at ridiculous speed if they haven't started their movement. CoD allows you to get in melee range of them so they don't start movement and instead cycle an attack. Since they haven't started movement their movement speed does not increase by the time they are stunned. Stunned mobs only move at ridicuolus speed because they were already in motion moving somewhere.

I prefer OG simply because it's lighter on the slot requirements, though, I'd reserve judgment until finding out what primary you're running. MA/DA is going to have better synergy with OG. BS/DA, Kat/DA, and DM/DA are going to have better synergy with CoF. Everything else is in the middle, though, there is probably a strong preference for OG simply because of the lighter slotting requirements and fewer endurance problems.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree on the synergy of CoF and BS/DA over that of OG. The whole wander away issue is not as big as people make it out to be which is really dependant upon cloak of darkness.

If you run CoD and jump into a group with OG running, the mobs are not in "100 yard dash mode" and will stun quickly with barely a stagger. Broadsword makes quick work of minions.

    Bad PUGS

Another sign is a team of 8 people with no one higher than 14 thinking a 54 boss farm is the fastest way they can get exp.

Starting to feel like the defender board around here.

Defender forums have more vile hatred than this.
  16. Two slot wonder OG, Absolute Amazement set accuracy and chance for to hit debuff actually.
  17. Can't say I agree with you there.
  18. Defenders can solo but in comparsion to other ATs it mostly will feel slower, sometimes alot slower sometimes a little slower.
  19. You just validated his point though. You didn't have the right tools you needed someone else to grant them to you otherwise you would be joinging the scrapper union and taking your mandatory dirt nap,
  20. I stole it from him! Agreed on soul drain and hasten question.

As for the original question, Hurdle is my choice.
  21. Never cared about rankings and never will.
  22. Virtue LFG Alpha has served me well in the past.
  23. Issues of tactics are not solely regulated to Defender issues, but I think it is a good policy to provide information if it appears people on the team do not uderstand the mechanics of the character you are playing.

Often times such coorindation can improve the team effectiveness. On such example, I was playing my tanker on a Sister Psyche TF and we had a stormy with hurricane who understood his class.

As the tanker I would pull toward corners instead of standing in the mob and he would round them up nicely keeping them in the corner while the rest of the team would whittle them down.

Had the stormy and I failed to coordinate our efforts the team dynamic would not have been as effective.

This is also why I advocate playing each AT.

    @RP Supergroups

I would recommend Justice Girls. The one player I played with the other day stuck through a challenging mission with me as the AE farm babies trickled away.

    RWZ Challenge

I am guessing you hovered out of melee range. In a sense you lessened the experience of the RWZ challenge if I am correct. But at the same time, if the entire mob was engaged on you the whole time you were taking advantage of the MOB AI.

There is no rule you have to stand toe to toe with the entire mob but the purpose of the RWZ is a stress test of your character. If you were out of melee range because your melee defense is your weak point and you tactically compensated for it, I would say you good job.
