Yes, but unlike Warcraft, this game doesn't start at level 50. We don't all have Shiver yet, and even those that do find it helpful to have more than one.

Two holds also seems redundant- again, you should be doing enough damage that the difference between being at the recharge floor and being held doesn't matter.
That's for little things I like to call "Stacked mags" and "Multiple mobs"

The ice secondary delivers all the control a blaster is likely to need. Pairing it with a control-heavy primary is gilding the lily.
So it's making a beautiful thing even more unique and priceless? I agree whole-heartedly.

If you'd said "corruptors get better DPS than defenders with only slightly worse buffs" I'd have been right with you but your post seemed to imply that corruptors combined blaster level damage with defender buffs.
There's a difference between an accidental implication and being wrong. Anything that had Blaster damage and Defender buffs would break the game. I was simply implying that, if you'd prefer good DPS and weak buffs, go with the one with a DPS primary and a Buff secondary.

And as for math being gross, only if you're bad at it.

    To reiterate:
    Blaster Ranged damage scale: 1.125
    Defender Ranged Damage Scale: 0.65
    Corruptor Ranged Damage Scale: 0.75

In terms of damage Corruptors are a LOT closer to Defenders than they are Blasters. Yes, they get their blasts earlier which does help a bit when leveling and yes Scourge does provide a damage bonus (estimated at around 20% when solo) but at the end of the day Blasters still have a significant damage advantage over them.
Never said they didn't. I just said that if you're looking for a more damage-centric Defender, there is literally an inverse Defender in-game.

And I love whoever just neg-repped me another two-hundred freaking points. For "Derailing" the thread with a single post. Go ahead. Give me red bars alll across the screen. It's fun to watch.
  4. If I were to assume, I'd say that Light means you actually act out your characters. All local chat is IC unless denoted by parenthesis/what-have-you, but Supergroups, Broadcast, PMs, et cetera are assumed OOC, and you aren't required to RP out your use of powers and such.

Heavy means that all chat everywhere is IC unless denoted by parenthesis, and even that should be minimal to avoid disrupting the game flow. Any temporaries, inspirations, and power-pools should be justified in-character, as should character interactions and one's choice of missions.

Medium RP, as I see it, is just Heavy RP that's lenient about it. The rules are the same, but people don't get as upset if you don't follow them, and they're likely only expected under circumstances.

But again, this is just me, so the responses of others may vary.

I find it amusing that of all the crap I've said on these forums, this completely inoffensive, almost literally completely objective remark is the comment that attracts a bunch of neg-rep and abuse.

or armor, armor is always good, like so:

    Ephesians 6:10-17 (NIV)
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
    ... But I kind of like her just looking like a plain old biker chick. >.>;;

Again, questionable. I think I have comparable control ability to a Controller. Granted, it's limited to holds and slows, but still.

I find it fascinating that the solution to "We keep needing to do your work for you" is "I'll kick you, that way we're literally doing your work for you."

A-freaking-men. Not letting somebody on your team because they don't have a buff you want is the epitome of selfishness, IMO. Let them do what they do. If they're not a load on the team, then don't worry about it. Good lord.

Okay, wait. Speed Boost? Your single defining attack is Speed Boost?

Dude, seriously, I hate being Speed-boosted in a mission, and so do many others. o-O That one's hardly the ultimate Essential Power.

Um... Well, Sky hasn't got a superhero-y costume. Does she get a pass just because her boss is the Man Upstairs, or...?

We are currently open for new additions to the team if anyone is interested. Looking for a tank and some damage, preferrably. Let us know in this thread, or send me a PM here or a global tell in game to @Flaming Current.

Must be available on Wed nights, 8pm EST - 10pm EST We are all (mostly) currently lvl 20. The only requirements for this team are: That you be of the modern aged superhero theme, have a secret identity in your character's bio, have a very "superhero-ey" costume and have some sort of celestial connection regarding your powers and/or purpose for being a superhero.
    ... Is there a reason I keep getting left off the roster? I know the last few weeks have been hectic, but it's getting better. >.>;;

Well, if you were being hardcore natural, none at all, unless you wanted to give him some sort of RP'd device that gave him flight or jumping.

Personally, though, I think you could be lenient and give him super-jumping and say he was just in really, really good long jumping form.
  22. I'll try to be on tonight, but if I'm not, don't be surprised. Sorry about missing yet another week. I really have been doing that far too much.

    RP spots?

One of the things I love about Virtue is that even a lot of PuGs will still be RP-friendly, so if you begin RPing you might very well get the whole team going.

  25. "You can snipe from inside here, right?"

    Snaerr frowned. "Eehh...."

He looked out of the sphere. "I should be able to conjure and manifest ice outside of the sphere, but I won't be able to directly evoke it, which is pretty much my most powerful gun. Metaphorically speaking, of course."

He paused, considering it again. "Well, the sphere was really just meant to be protective, though. I could probably make small crenelations, for the purpose of attack. Might make the sphere less solid, though."
