Is there something different about how the game handles the Lord Recluse model? Specifically the Signature_Lord_Recluse_Escape model. I'm building a demo file with the recluse model and the legs on his back don't render.
See what I mean?
It should just be as simple as setting up the npc model like so:

Greetings from your local insane... well.. whatever I happen to be right now. Anyway, As some of you are undoubtedly aware I have in the past attempted to make a series of fan based comics using City of Heroes as the back drop. Well, I'm at it again. And I'm running into a problem, namely man power. I'm only one person, and even with a mastermind I have difficulty doing what I'm trying to do (I'm not that good with pet commands), so here I am asking for some help.
Now, I'm sure you're asking "What do you us to do?" Well, the good news is I've learned a lot of tricks that I can use to make this waaaaay easier for you. Literally all you will have to do is be online, stand where I tell you to stand, and push a button when I tell you to push a button. I have built a bind file that I will send you. When you push the button associated with the bind your toon will perform an emote and say something in the local channel. I will demo record it. That's literally all there is to it.
So what do I need for this? I need 7 people online at the same time. Each player will represent a particular character in my comic and the binds for that character will be set accordingly. We will go into a mission I made in the AE, clear out an area of enemies, and perform the actions I need performed while I demo record each piece. That's all there is to it.
I'll be upfront and tell you all that this is a test run of this process. So the scene I'm making will be short and honestly will seem like it's a part out of a larger story, which it is. But So far the script I'm writing is about 6 pages long of text.
I did a bit of a test on with it last night, and turned this:

So you can see how a little bit of text in word amounts to a lot of space in a comic and that if I were to try and do a test of a full 18-24 page issue you all would probably make a special trip to Virginia just to hang me.
Once I have a better idea of time and effort required based on 5-6 of script I'll be in a better position to break it down into more manageable chunks. That way I can try and do more work with fewer people standing around.
So, who's willing to help me out here?

Wolf Spider 2: You dont get it, we already lost the planet.
Miner: So what? You saying we cant take it back? That it mr. Spider man?
Torroes Prime: No. We WILL fight to take back the planet. But not now.
Miner: And why not? Whats stopping us?!
Scarlet Thundress: Organization.
Crab Spider: huh?
*Torroes points to the Longbow Spec Ops*
Torroes: When was the last time you heard from Longbow HQ?
Longbow: *Shrugs* About a month ago, I guess. Probably a little more.
*Torroes points to the Crab Spider*
Torroes: What about Arachnos? What kind of support and man power can they bring?
Crab Spider: um well I mean Lord Recluse disappeared into the portal, and Scorpion and Mako went at it so . I guess theres something that Lord Scirroco could bring, maybe.
Scarlet Thundress: Recluse is gone, and whatever stabilizing effect he had on Arachnos has also vanished. It is doubtful that Ghost Widow still lives, and the infighting between Mako and Scorpion has crippled the whole of the Arachnos Organization.
Trivolt: Yeah, aint like the Rikti could have picked a better time to attack. The only folks that could stand up to em were Vanguard. Not that they did so great.
*Torroes Grunts*
Torroes: With Arachnos, Longbow, and Vanguard out of commission we are at a major disadvantage and we need both organization and man power before we can do anything.
Thundress: Which is why we are going to rescue Wicked Blue. She is a capable fighter and an accomplished leader.
*Torroes looks at the group*
Torroes: Lets take a break.
Longbow Spec Ops: Ill scout ahead.
*Longbow cloaks*
Torroes: Be careful. Were here to rescue Wicked Blue. We dont need a second person to rescue.
*Trivolt leans against the wall*
Trivolt: Wouldnt bother me any to have a second person to person to pull out.
Scarlet Thundress: And why would that be, Trivolt?
Trivolt: Simple. You and bull man there are paying me to pull your girl out. Second target, second fee.
*Torroes rises to his full height and turns to face Trivolt*
Torroes: Trivolt, I am only going to say this once. These people may just be potential marks for your next paycheck, but they are my allies. If I think for even one second that you are deliberating hindering our progress just to raise your profits, I will kill you. Is that clear?
Trivolt: Yeah, bull. Its clear.
Trivolts thoughts: At least as long as youre paying me its clear.
*Torroes walks by Thundress*
Torroes: (Whispering to Thundress) I dont trust Trivolt. Watch him closely.
*Thundress nods*
I would like to try use Team Speak or some similar form of Voip to direct this. I think that will be easier then using the chat system in the game.
I need your toon to have a costume that is comparable in size to the character you're representing during shooting. I'm working on compiling a set of approximate heights for each character now. How you accomplish your toon having the proper height is entirely up to you. If you want to a roll a throw away toon just for this to make him the right size, that's fine. if you want to make a new costume for your toon I'll reimburse you up to 1.5m inf for the tailor charge.
height of the respective characters:
Longbow Spec Ops: 6 feet tall
Wolf Spiders: between 5 and 7 feet tall
Crab Spider: Max height.
Enraged Miner: Under 6 feet tall
Trivolt: 6 ½ feet tall
I already have 3 other people who have volunteered to help me out that will be standing in for the Crab Spider, Scarlet Thundress and one wolf spider. So I just need people for the other characters.

as an aside how do you explain Rage?
Right now I'm going with activating full sensors and cutting out the first level of saftey protocols, effectively shunting 50% extra power to the characters motor systems while feed about 30% more data from his body's sensors for targeting purposes. -
Hey kids, Working on some short stories for my characters and I'm at a bit of an em pass. Specifically explain in story how the power for this particular character works. From a technological origin, how would you explain how unstoppable would work?

Of which Demon Summoning is interesting (but been playing that for months now) and Elec control looks interesting, but since controllers/doms are my fav arch I've played all the ones I care to. No urge to level an elec/
I doubt the explosion of population will last that long. Many people have come to the same conclusion as I have already. Only the die hard CoX fans are ecstatic about it all.

I think J. Michael Straczynski said it best when he was writing Babylon 5. One of the characters was asked "Is all this worth it?" meaning all the money, effort, lives and time spent to establish a space station like the one depicted in the series. The characters response:

I'm gonna say we had a break down in communications somewhere along the line here. -
I'm can not play sets. I've tried, multiple times, multiple builds with every archetype in the game. If I try to play sets, I'll get to like level 5 and get bored. I've done it dozens of times. No ammount of "But just wait till you get <Insert power name>" has ever changed that. Telling me to Play a Set A/Set B archetype is like telling a blind person how to paint a picture. Sure, they can take your directions and put the paint on the paper. But it's not their picture.
In order for me to play a toon, I have to have a fairly solid character concept behind them. If I don't have that, then all the numbers and advice and suggestions and build directions don't make the slightest bit of difference. -

The biggest problem with making the entire city/isle 1 large map, or maybe 2 not really sure exactly what you would want when you say make it one map, is resource usage. Right now the download rate when I'm in Atlas park varies from about 285 kps to 10200 kps depending on activity level. I've tracked the download when I do a Hami raid and it's hitting it's head on my max download rate. I'm on a fiber optic line so I get 25-35 MBps downloads. That download is every piece of data that your system currently is told it needs to run the game. Every motion path on the map, Every NPC on the map, every color used on every costume part in every active costume on every toon in the map, every power FX that is used, and every color used to color those FX, Every line of chat in the channels, every trade taking place in the map.
Heres an example of what I mean. This is a recorded demo file from Atlas Park. Now, allow me to explain what you're looking at so you can understand why I'm giving you this example.
The DemoRecord files are organized into line items that coded by time since 0 in milliseconds. Basically it reads like this:
1 mili-second after the last event, do this.
The mili-second time is on the far left column. The second column is an identification number for that entity. Once an object, such as a character or an NPC, is identified, it is referenced by the number it was assigned at creation of the demo file. For instance. Object Manticore is assigned the number 1 in this demo file. Until Object Manticore is removed from the demo file, every time the demo references Object 1, it will be referencing Manticore.
Now, that I've give you a brief break down of the demo file, scroll through and take a look at it. I'm not going to tell you anything specific to check out while you're scrolling. Just scroll through it and look at it.

Now, how long is that demo file in terms of time? I'll save you the trouble of going through and adding up all the mili-seconds. It lasts less then 1 mili-second.
How many items are there in the demo file? About 3,000 separate entries. Thats 3,000 models to animate and move. Now, lets say 1/10 of those use 4 Fxs each. That's an additional 1,200 items to animate. Now out of that 1,200 lets say 1/4 of them are player customized powers. That's an additional 300 data entries to reference and apply. So for, less then 1 mili-second of game play the system must keep track of 4,500 items.
That's in Atlas park. On a slow day, with nothing happening. Care to extrapolate out an estimated number of the items you system would need to reference in order to allow you to walk from one zone to another with out seeing a zone loading screen? at a vague guess, it'd be up in the 10s of millions and THATS before anyone actually does anything.
So closing thoughts:
Would it be fantastic to be able to walk from zone to zone and not see War Walls or zone loading screens?
HELL YES! THAT WOULD ROCK!
With the current technology in use, is it something that's realistically viable?

yeah, old request. I donno about any of you, but I'm fine with the number of slot we have. I mean 352 characters slots... that is a LOT of characters. I recall seeing somewhere that there's only something like 356 possible power combinations (Not 100% sure that's accurate mind you) and the majority of players aren't looking to make every possible power combination.
Now, one thing I would like to see is a change in how the slots are allocated. If I want to have 2 slots on Victory and 190 on Virtue, why not? They're my slots. I've paid for 'em. Why can't I load 'em onto one server? -
I hadn't thought of it before, but I remember when I first ran the ITF right after it launched on Live servers. There must have been 100 ITFs running a day then, and that was before merits. We ran it the way the maps were laid out to be run.
1) Get off the boats.
2) meet Daedelus
3) Clear the inlet
4) Clear the bridge
5) clear the valley
6) clear the scaffolding in the vanyon
7) destroy the computer
8) beat down Romi and Requiem
I remember having a blast doing it that way and while there were occasional bursts of slow-down, like when 5 of our team members went in 5 different directions and aggroed 9 different groups on top of the 2 we were already fighting..., I don't recall experiencing anything even remotely approaching the amount of bad stop-motion lag that I find if I run the ITF today on a supposedly "speedy" run. -

If you're running out of endurance THAT fast, i'd need to see you play. Because right now it sounds like you're leaving Sprint and possibly Ninja Run on while you fight. These are HUGE endurance hogs and should be deactivated during scuffles.

Okay, so this is the first time I've gotten a Troller above level 5. Now, I'm going to tell you right now, My normal preference for play style are Melee heavy, high survivability heavy damage toons. I pretty seriously suck when it comes to builds and numbers. So please keep that in mind.
Now here's the situation. I rolled a Grav/Sonic controller. He works medium well to descent. The problem is he is absolutely chewing through Endurance. Now when I say I chew through Endurance, I mean I come up to a mob with 2 minions, 1 Lt. I go to Hold the minions and take them out. I take out the first minion while dancing with the Lt. I Switch targets to the second minion and still dancing with the Lt. I get the minion down to about 10%, and I'm out of endurance. No endurance, my holds stop holding, and I've got a pissed off Lt and a Minion looking to play the bongos on my skull.
I've double slotted End Reds in all my attacks, triple slotted Stamina and at least slotted a single End Red in my other powers. So, what can I do to address the endurance problem?

Okay, I'm working on a fan-comic. I won't go into story details at this time, just what I need help with.
One of the big things I want to do is gain a far greater level of control over the images while still maintaining a uniform appearance. I've spent a good deal of time time over the last 18 months researching, testing, adapting, re-testing, re-adapting, modifying, going back to square one, and re-developing a technique that will allow me to accomplish this. I have tried every possible combination of filters and actions and automated process in the book, and the line art method I have learned works the best. Here is an example of a finished image utilizing this line art process:
Utilizing this method I am able to modify the images to produce a range of effects that in-game screen shots are simply not capable of doing. A good example is this:
As you can see I have been able to show Gausian pointing at a hologram with a single finger as opposed to the four-fingered mitten the game engine uses.
Perhaps the single largest advantage this technique grants me is the ability to draw facial expressions in order to express emotions. You can see a test piece of this concept below (yes, I know I missed the goatee in the third image):
As you can see this technique is extremly versitile and adaptive. As I progress into the story and display different characters I intend to create different power FX for different characters. The idea would be that a Magic based force field would look totally different from a technology based one.
So why am I going through and Explaining all this? Simple. I need extra manpower for this. If I can get 4-5 people working on toons line art and 1-2 people working on the line art of the backgrounds the individual issues should be able to move a pace of close to one issue each month.
I know this sounds like a lot of work, but it actually goes quite quickly and after you complete 2-3 line art images you find that what was taking you an hour and 40 minutes is now taking you less then an hour. This is why I need to try and break the work load down into smaller chunks. In the promo-issue I'm working on now, there are 4 main characters, 7 cameos and a couple shots of random NPCs spread across 18 backgrounds. Each of the 4 main characters break down into the following shots:
Chained bow "Pet" : 9 Shots
Cmdr. Fergusson: 11 shots
Longbow Officer: 8 shots
Torroes prime: 9 shots
With single shot cameos for 7 other toons and 18 backgrounds. Figuring the backgrounds take 3 hours to do a piece (I've managed to get it down to 1 hour 40 minutes) that's 54 man hours for the backgrounds and about 50 hours for the toon images for a combined estimated total of 104 total man hours. If I can break that down into 5 people, that load splits into about 21 hours of work per person which when spread out over a 3 week period breaks down to about 7 hours of work per week.
Now, I keep saying work, so I'm guessing you all are asking what am I asking you to do? Well, it's simple. I need people to take screen shots I supply to them, like this:
and utilizing the line art tutorial I will provide, use Photoshop to trace out the screen shot and produce a line art image like this:
So, here's what I need: I need people who have Photoshop and are willing to give me 7-10 hours per week to produce a couple of these line art images. I'm not going to try and mandate you complete X-number of images, simply do as man as you can reasonably get done with out stressing yourself out.
What I don't need: A short cut way to accomplish this. There isn't one. Believe me, I've looked. I've tried the filters and the blending options and the extractions and the algorithms and the actions and everything else in Photoshop you can possibly try. For what I want to do, this is the best method there is (It also happens to be eerily similar to how professional comics are digitally drawn now a days.)
I also do NOT need someone to assemble the constituent Line art images into the final image or to color them or to apply the effects. I will handle all of that.

Okay, I've glanced through the thread and I gotta point out a couple little things.
The Personal Nemesis idea... has been on the CoH drawing table since day 1. It was the original idea behind the Zigg IN-game. Positron was working on it when Cryptic and NCsoft exchanged ownership of CoH. The problem is the tech was under development with in Cryptic, not NCsoft. So when Cryptic left the game *Making trolling whistle sound* the tech went with it. Guess why it ended up in CO?
The AE is not an end, it's a test bed. Just like Cimerorans were a test bed for a shields powerset, AE is the test bed for Player Created content. We can already create our own enemies... boy does that ever sound like a step into a philosophical debate... but we can create our own enemies in AE. We just got Powerset color customization. Chances are we'll be looking at minion customization next followed by a more advanced Powerset customization system (changing the actual animations of the powers perhaps?). I wouldn't be surprised if at some point They did finish the revamped Nemesis system and implement it. -

Lingering Radiation: I was looking at what bonuses I could get buy slotting what for this and I saw the bonuses for Pacing of the turtle. An extra 2.7% resistance to sleep can't be a bad thing, but at 3 slots I'm the -recharge proc and a 2.5% enhancement to slow. So with the 3 PatTs in there, I'm looking at -865% regen and -75% recharge to affected targets.
Good or bad thinking here?
Accelerated Metabolism: I was looking at 3 slotting celerity in here. I would have gotten an additional 2.2% mezResistance to immobilize, but the 1.5% HP at the third slot didn't strike me as being worth it. 3 slotting a Zephyr gets me all the defense bonuses associated with that set so it seemed a better slot investment.
Good or bad thinking here?
Proton Volley: What's the phrase? Frankenslotting? I think that's it. I was looking at my totals and seeing my EndRech was stricking me as a bit iffy at this point and I wanted to get that up. So, I slotted PV with 2 Thunderstrikes for the 2% end bonus, Execuctioners Contracts for another 2% end bonus and finally 2 Shield breakers for a 2.5% end bonus. I dropped in the two procs thinking that if I inflict more damage and disorient the target, then that target is that much more likely to be dealt with before it can become a threat again.
Good or bad thinking here?
Hover: I 3 slotted a blessing of Zephyer into Hover because I don't intend to use fly much if at all and thus don't intend to slot it if I can avoid it. Slotting the Zephyr is hover versus fly gives me a boost to speed since I'll be hovering most of the time anyway and gives the additional defense bonuses. BotZ bonus will stack 2x right?

With this new build I think I'd addressed several of the issues in my previous build. I've picked up an additional 11% regen, another 1% max hp, and brought my End Rech from 2.56/s to 2.8/s. My res to Toxic, Cold and fire are lower by 2.9% but my defense to those damages as been raised by nearly 4%.
So, thoughts? Comments? Critiques? Offers to back hand me for being stupid? -

Im very skilled with Defenders, and they are my Favorite Class, and I can honestly tell you, that youv just barked up the wrong tree doing a complete 360 to go from a Brute, to a Defender.

Technically speaking I'm moving from Brute to Scrapper to Tank to Mastermind to Corrupter to Defender. Like I said, when I originally rolled this toon it was meant as a throw away. I never intended to actually play it, just use it for Demo editing for my comic. -

Actually it was funny when I took it on a LGTF to get some merrits. He was 49 and I thought I had XP disabled. I really didn't want my first 50 hero side to be a posi-clone. Well it turns out I didn't have XP disabled. So he dinged 50 in the second mission and everyone on the team is tossing "Gratz" at me and I'm practically screaming "NOOO! He can't be 50! I won't allow him to be 50! I need to file a petition to get him back to 49!"
