..ive seen people with there own webpages, featuring coh and cov artwork...

anyone have any tips on how to do this?? ....

..you might have ta email me the info for the stuff..

err... but EVERYONE knows ncsoft and paragon studios has the best hosting, and the best everything.. im just sorta throwing out the idea that there might be alternative site hosting options...

You would need to shell out money for your own webspace and domain name if you didn't want to worry about prudes dictating what you can/can't do. The only thing the admins of a paid server would take down is the same stuff that would get you in legal trouble. And oh yeah at that point they'd probably call the cops too. So as long as your "half-naked Sister Psyche" (really, when ISN'T she half naked?) isn't being depicted as an 8 year old, you should be fine.

Do some research on hosting companies. Many offer pretty sweet deals, but look out for things like limited bandwidth, "buy nao" specials (where you only pay 10 bucks a month for a few months but then it jumps to $30), or even forced advertising (very few paid services go that route as they're already getting money from you, but still..). Most will offer to buy your domain name FOR you, with the caveat they they get to keep it if you ever give your site up or something else happens. May or may not be a big deal.

Some places offer hosting for like 5 bucks a month (but paid yearly)... Watch out for these, they probably won't have the best service or server stats. May be an option if you're looking for something small. Anything over 30 bucks a month is probably a rip-off unless you have tens of thousands of page views a week and lots of interactive media (and thus need more bandwidth)

Try to find hosting review sites and cross-reference their articles. If (these adresses are only EXAMPLES and may or may not be real sites, i don't know!) "Reviewhosting.com" gives "Hosting-plus.net" an A, but "Hostreviews.com" gives it only 2 stars out of 5, make sure the first site and the site being reviewed aren't part of the same company! You can always do a "whois" query if you're unsure.

Or maybe someone else will have a more elegant solution for you. In any case, good luck!

I've been really happy with Squarespace. Eventually I will get a site built from the ground up the way I want it...but for getting a personal site up and running and looking nice quickly.... yeah it's a good way to go.

...unless you're looking for something that is free.
