  1. Say it isn't so! ;_;
the Tibby-mun and all the alts will miss your wit, grace, and humour sorely, and we wish you the best in the future.

Please peep in and say 'hi' when you can...

    Accuracy

Thanks WeirdBeard, for a fascinating glimpse into the underpinnings of the game. I'm terrible with numbers, but I do like to understand how things work, so this is like candy to me, and I will be mulling it over and discussing it with my friends for a while.

I am still trying to figure out what the ramifications this information casts on the use and timing of temporary accuracy improvement. I suspect I have been doing something right for a long time, because I seem to have fewer accuracy complaints than many I play with; or maybe it's just me being a 'glass is half-full' kinda thinker.

Also wondering what happens when a character is running a well-slotted FA, then exemplars and loses the power?
  3. Saw this one tonight, hopping about Sharkhead Isle:
Wolf Spider Tac Op: Why don't we just write "Idiot" on the toe tag?

I presume he was referring to a bodybag; nearly SJ'd into a nest of reds and purple trying to identify the source. Not sure how many times the NPC chatter has been the death of my Wicked Tibby...

    hn.
Maybe he was talking about my toetag...>_<
  4. I was introduced to CoH by two of my dear online friends from mIRC text rp, who happen to be a rl couple They knew I was an old-skewl comics fan and -correctly!- believed I would love CoH (which shows how well they know me, for the only games that had held my interest before were Final Fantasy 8 and Daggerfall ).

I in turn infecte- er, introduced my husband to CoH, and he, in turn, passed the addicti- er, diversion on to his friends, who ditched NWN, SFB and lesser games for Paragon and the Rogue Isles.

I do not team with my husband...I think that might be an argument waiting to happen

I wondered where those scars came from.

Tell me a story about the olden days? ::tiggerblink::

Instant Healing- upon activation, a giant blue hand slaps an oversized band-aid over your head instantly healing 15% of your overall health. Due to the nature of having a life sized band-aid stuck to your face, you take a penalty to accuracy and suffer a minor DoT due to suffocation.

    [/ QUOTE ]
hee! ...and upon removal of said band-aid, you get a jolt of untyped damage relative to the duration of the heal

TigerBaby nearly didn't take DP as a sub for the IH I knew was getting the tender attentions of the nerfbat, because I figured it was only a matter of time before it got hit, too. I'm wondering if the reason it has not (so far) is because Dull Pain is a power shared across ATs and cannot readily be adjusted for its individual applications?

So, it will only be nerfed when all the sets that include DP are perceived as being 'balanced'? Maybe? ::shrugs:: It's a theory...

You know I just want to reiterate, that Regens KICK BUTT!!

    Why?

Regens are always out to help each other. I just read the pre-release of Fanboy's DP guide, and I note that any newbie Scrapper can get a hand here.

I've tried several times to get help on my Controller on their boards without success. Regens take all the nerfs and still make a kick butt character.

    /em agreed

That is one thing that is un-nerfable: the Scrapper and */regen generosity that makes this the first section of the boards I check everytime I log in. Maybe it's that we've seen the swing of the nerf bat so many times, or the nature of the type of player that chooses a scrapper over the other ATs, but it is here that I find a real sense of AT community, mutual respect, and -mostimportantA+#1!- sense of humour.

A toast! To the */regens - long may they glow goofy green!
  8. TigerBaby defeated the PsiCK in short order and with little difficulty with the backup of two emp defenders, one rad and one dark, both around lvl 30. The rad was sk'd to level and the dark hovering well out of aggro to assist the rad. Not a team assembled according to any geat plan, but just who happened to be on from our SG at the time; a bat-poop crazy approach that just happened to work like all-git-out. Maybe we just got lucky?
  9. Wow, you have a very interesting and challenging job. I love the storylines in CoH; they remind me of my comic-collecting days in high school, with the added bonus of not having to wait a whole month for the next installement, but getting it as my reward for completing the next mission.

    I have a few questions:
    1) Was it a deliberate design feature, or simply an oversight, that there are virtually no female villians until the last 15 levels or thereabout?

    2) I am a diehard soloist, and (while I enjoy teaming well enough) the reason I prefer to solo is I enjoy reading over all the mission text at leisure, otherwise I have little or no idea of the storyline supporting the mish. In my SG, if we are using TeamSpeak, the mission-holder can read the storylines aloud, but this isn't quite the same. Are there any plans to bring storyline more extensively into the teamplay experience?

3)Do you ever feel like you've 'run out of ideas', too creatively exhausted to continue? If so, what do you do to 'recharge your batteries'?

4)Do the powerlevellers, blasting willy-nilly to level 50, using every powergame trick conceivable to avoid the content you work so hard to deliver, bother you?

Most of the time....the people who run them...do them to see ideas......to see what people have done...and also believe it or not they look for concepts.

Sure they are spreading wealth...being nice and having fun....but its also true many of the judges have other motives.

If anything i find it flattering to be copied.

I find that hard to believe, that people could be so bankrupt of any kind of creative thot as to have to offer up millions in infl and an hour or more of game time to come up with an idea for a character's appearance; I have *way* more ideas than I have time to make/play new characters, and if I want to check out combinations I might never have considered, all I have to do is hit the 'random' button a few times in the costume creator.
  11. I've never, myself, entered a costume contest, being too eager to get on with the heroing and advance my character; also, I tend to design 'low-key' styled 'toons that, while I like them, are unlikely, imho, to garner any prizewinning attention in their subtlety.

However, I know of several friends who have participated, and won (not always first place, but a little something). One exceptionally generous contest-holder not only awarded prizes to their top picks, but to everyone who participated!

I am planning to hold a contest myself, to celebrate when my main reaches lvl. 50, on Pinnacle. And it will definitely not be fake!
